i would avoid as a new driver! if you get unlucky and get the really new instructor, he freaks out at whatever you do! he beefs with other cars (window down cursing, middle fingers, honking), and berated me for being distracted while he was acting all crazy. i left each class crying and super discouraged. i thought about not leaving a review because he just started out, but that behavior and environment is not only a danger to everyone in the car but other pedestrians and cars. unfortunately i wasted two lessons to give him a chance. my last lesson was with jorge (upon my request) and went good. he is very patient and kind. read more

Passed beautifully on my first try! Leo was my instructor and he is everything and more that I needed as a first time learner - he is patient, gives direction and builds up your confidence. I was very nervous learning as an adult driver (who had lived in NY and never needed to drive) but I felt calm learning with Leo. It was like having the ultimate co-pilot. Learning how to drive in your mid 30s can be daunting. I regretted not learning sooner and I knew I would need all the practice I could get. My son took a two-hour stick shift lesson with Joseph, which was a practical, behind-the-wheel course. He found Joseph to be patient and helpful, offering numerous tips for driving on city streets and freeway traffic conditions, rather than just practicing in a parking lot like some driving schools do. Royals Driving School is a great driving school. I had Jorge as my instructor and he was amazing. I already had an idea of how to drive and my permit going in so Jorge took me for one lesson to work on the smaller things that I needed help with and then he took me to the dmv and I passed my first try with him. He was also very funny and respectful as well, you can tell he loves his job and is relaxed but takes it seriously as well. When I would make a mistake he wouldn't make me feel bad about it, he would simply tell me what I did wrong, how I'm supposed to do it and to be more careful with that.
