Waffle Fries with hamburger sub
Rebecca S.

This is a gem in Holley which is a 5 min drive from Brockport. The menu is huge! My husband's fried chicken was great & the coleslaw was the best either of us had ever had! I'd love to get the recipe! I had a stuffed ground beef burger which was nothing special. I should have tried something else! The chili was good & the crisp bread they served with it was great. It would have been good instead of the sub roll I had. Our waitress was so nice, informative, & not a hoverer!!

We had a terrific breakfast at Sam's and the coffee just kept coming. The everything omlete was huge. I could only eat half if it. My husband had two eggs, pancakes, and bacon. This classic small town square diner was perfect. We also took a walk to the nearby falls located down a path behind the diner near the historical society.

Very nice diner. We were in Brockport looking for somewhere to eat and this was only about 5 minutes away. They had a large selection and the diner was clean and neat. The dinners were tasty and if I'm looking for a diner I would definitely go here ahead. Bonus, Holly falls is about 2 minutes down the road and gorgeous!

My wife and I went here for dinner last Friday and really enjoyed it! They have a wide variety on the menu and the food was delicious! Our waitress was very friendly too!

Wow! We need more of these type of diners in Buffalo.... fair prices, excellent food, huge menu, and, of course, nostalgia! I worked up an appetite hiking around Holley falls, so we were definitely in the mood to eat once we got seated, I ordered a chicken deluxe sandwich (with ham and swiss) and opted for macaroni salad as a side ..... my father got a cheeseburger club (a new twist on a club that needs to be added to every menu) with chips . The bill with 2 beverages only ended up being a little over $20 ! Service was friendly and quick, just what you would hope for! And the food hit the spot! Thank you Sam for providing such an awesome dining experience!

The food came out extremely slow. We waited for 45 minutes, for a table of 5. There were only a few people there at the time. She offered to box up the food since we spent so much time waiting we had to leave. The next problem was our food was very inconsistent. My sister had the junk plate and my son had the junk fries and they both loved their food. My sister said it was one of the better "garbage plate" type meals she's had. Me and my mom not as good. My mom said the soup was lacking any flavor and was not good at all. The main problem with our meals was we both had the egg and olive sandwich. Tasted good until at different times we both bit into egg shells. Happened more than once to the point I didn't want to eat anymore because I didn't know to expect an eggshell. Therefore both me and my mom could not finish our meals. I posted a pic so you can see it's a big piece of shell.

Service was a little off. She got my order wrong then disappeared. As a result I really couldn't do anything about it. Also, she gave me my coffee, cream, and sugar. But she didn't give me anything to stir it with (again disappearing). She was a young girl so I'll mark it off to inexperience. If I was in the area, I would go back.

We love the artwork and common sense rules - Coleens is such a treasure. Sam ordered the veggie bowl & I ordered the breakfast sandwich on her homemade everything bagel w a side of homefries. Ever since Bent's Opera House opened, I've been curious and wanted a reason to try Harvest for…read moredinner. The opportunity finally presented itself and, overall, it was a really nice experience! Three of us had made reservations for 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived, there were zero issues. Parking for Harvest is primarily street parking but there are smaller parking lots nearby. The interior comes across fancy, modern, with nice views of Main St. and as you walk in to the dining room, the open-kitchen to our left and a warmly lit, nicely stocked bar to our right. We were seated at a table towards the middle of the dining room. At 6pm, most tables were empty but when we were leaving there were a good amount of people at both the bar and seated in the dining room, so it seems like people tend to come for a later meal. Our waitress came over and poured us waters and provided drink and food menus. This was a first for me - the menus lit up! Our waitress though was incredibly courteous and personable, she did a fantastic job checking on us. To kick the evening off, I ordered their Honey Hibiscus cocktail, which is mezcal, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, honey, cinnamon, lime, and fee foam. This was a nicely balanced cocktail with a more floral, fruity flavor. With the open kitchen concept, it was neat to see the chef and cooks working on our meals as we relaxed, talked, and munched on some warmed focaccia-like bread with a freshly made balsamic, olive oil, herb dip. The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of chew on the crust/exterior, and served warm. For dinner, I ordered Pappardelle Mornay and added (perfectly grilled) chicken breast for a few more dollars, which is simply pappardelle pasta in a creamy cheese mornay. Our waitress crushed some black pepper atop my dish before I started in. This was excellent - The pasta itself tasted so fresh, the cheese mornay was indeed very creamy, and the grilled chicken breast was cooked, seasoned, cut, and portioned perfectly. I am really glad I added the chicken breast to this dish as I'm not sure the pasta itself would've filled me up. I'd definitely order this again! To wrap up our meal, since it was Thursday, there's a "1/2 off Nightcaps" special, so each of us enjoyed a cold foam espresso martini afterward, which is coffee-infused vodka, Nue vodka, FAIR Café liqueur, dark crème de cacao, Steamworks espresso, chocolate bitters, vanilla syrup, and topped with an infused cold foam, which we went with the Frangelico Hazelnut cold foam, and a few espresso beans. This was ridiculously rich and delish! Harvest is an intimate, elevated dining experience, designed to have you stay a while, relax, and enjoy a more personal meal. All of us really enjoyed our evening here and have nothing but high praise for the staff and quality food. This isn't a fast, casual, cheap sit-down meal, but it's an experience worth the higher price. I look forward to coming back!

It's located on 1st floor of an upscale boutique hotel in what used to be an old bank (they still display the vault). My parents have gone numerous times, but this was my first visit. The interior decor is beautiful & upscale, including comfy chairs, and tables are not packed together. The live piano music was a nice touch, though we all agreed a tad loud to support dinner conversation. From start to finish, everything was pleasing, beginning with cocktails, the Bison ribs app, root salad, & entrees. We didn't order dessert, but I saw some others getting delivered, and they looked delicious. Service was excellent. We'll be back!

All of the others who didn't measure up." But take heart! All it takes is taking off the glasses and letting its hair down, and suddenly you realize just how attractive and special Railway Station Diner really is! It's the quintessential reliable diner. Above average food. Below average prices. Regulars. A counter. Good service. Quick service. The Mediterranean frittata was wholesome and filling. The ingredients, fresh. It came with roast (up charge for raisin toast, but worth it!). The breakfast sandwich with shred, too, was perfectly proportioned; the crunch of the English muffin and the squish of the sausage balanced each other exactly equally, like Neo and Smith in that third Matrix movie. But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. Just perfectly sweet enough to make you not regret "going savory" by getting the frittata as your main course. Next time you're asked about the best diners around, make sure Railway Station Diner is part of the pantheon.

We stopped in for ice cream. Ice cream service is through an outside window on the side of the diner. There is picnic table outdoor seating. Compared to ice cream spots we frequent in more populated areas, selections here may seem limited. But there is surely something that will satisfy your sweet tooth if you don't have too restricted of a diet. They serve all hard-scoop Hershey's ice cream. My hubbs and son were pleased with their choices (Camo-Cream and Cookie Dough), and my small peanut butter sundae was sized just right for a reasonable treat. Prices were pretty fair; for the three of us, we paid just over $11. They do offer some specialty milkshakes that looked interesting, which comes with a glass mug you keep. We will work our way to trying one of those sometime. We did not eat any of the diner food this time, but there were a couple of patrons at the picnic tables with takeout boxes. The food looked good, like fried and grill food you'd expect from a diner. Currently, during pandemic times, they were only serving takeout only, no indoor seating yet. If you're visiting the Point Breeze area and want an ice cream treat and/or a diner meal, give Hayden's a try.
