I ordered two crispy chicken sandwiches and they were ready in about twelve minutes, a bit longer than most fast food establishments. The sandwiches come in a foil pouch and were warm when I ate them. As I bit into the first sandwich it was difficult to avoid the spicy sauce dripping out as it was bathed in sauce. The sandwich was not at all crispy, was much more mushy. I would rate it a c- at best. It was very similar to the first sandwich I had tried some time ago, so it was the norm rather than a fluke. Needless to say I have no desire to ever have another.

Everything is homemade and FRESH! Family owned husband and wife duo Frank & Erica served me today and it was a pleasure to meet them. They both take pride in what they serve to others and it shows. We sat out on the deck which runs along the canal. It has ample room and contains several tables that accommodate seating for four. Nice atmosphere sitting there watching the boat traffic go by and the main street bridge go up and down. They have several tables inside if the weather isn't cooperating to sit outside. Our server was friendly and made sure we were properly taken care of. The menu looked interesting therefore we will come back and try having a lunch or dinner in the future.

As we were driving for a while without finding this mystery place I figured they had gone out of business (like so many other places that couldnt keep up with the chains) and we almost stopped at Burger King because we were so hungry. I decided to keep going and find another restaurant when a couple miles down the road there it was!!! I was actually excited when we pulled in. We sat at the counter and my wife and I both ordered the cheeseburger garbage plates with everything but relish and I have to say this was one of my top 10 meals! IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I had a milkshake with my plate and it was awesome too. We were so happy with the food the server brought the owner and his wife out to meet us. Great folks! They told me this place almost became a Dollar General before they took it over!!! What a waste of a wonderful tradition for the people in that area. We do a lot of what we call "cheeseburger rides" on the motorcycles with friends and I have no idea why it took so long to get back to this place... I would make a long story short but its too late to do that. We are looking forward to returning here with my son (who was with me 35 years ago) and friends often. After looking over the food menu, it didn't take long to reach the ordering window and place our dinner order. The Hojack accepts cash and credit cards, but there's an additional processing fee with credit cards. Mom secured a table for us while I stood by the other window, waiting for our order number to be called. There were several tables and they're all covered so that's very nice! For Mother's Day 2026, it was cool and windy, so we didn't stay once we finished eating. For dinner, mom ordered a turkey burger, no mayonnaise (this comes topped with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise), I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise), and we split a basket of fries. It took about 15 minutes before our food was ready, but everything was made-to-order, so it all was incredibly fresh and hot! Even though the food is basic, The Hojack does a great job! We were sad to see they weren't serving their ice cream nachos, so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert (plus we were freezing at this point haha). The Hojack is a no-frills spot, but they nail the grill/fryer basics! As the weather gets warmer, I see myself coming back for a cold, ice cream treat - Hopefully it'll be for some ice cream nachos!
