Terrible Sam's Club but I come here when my local one doesn't have the product in stock that I want. Parking is chaotic. Tried to do a return and only one person was working the counter with a line of 14 people during a weekday midday. She was rude and slow. Really, really, terrible customer service! Yesterday's visit was no better. 40 minutes to pick up a curbside order. I had to go inside. All employees ignored me, one asked me to move out of the way, and none of them offered to help except the masked Asian employee with the long hair who helped me with the pickup. There needs to be major traffic control. Cars honking, pedestrians walking in every direction, children screaming and running. People fighting. Only one way in and out. Saw a cart collector slam his trolley into a Jaguar and show no remorse when the driver got out. This location is a failure in all aspects. read more

The workers are nice and friendly, especially when theres a hot drop in the store. They are calm and they manage the lines efficiently by handing out tickets beforehand to ensure their Plus members who get there early can get items. Onto the general shopping experience, sams has good prices on items, especially their 18 pack organic pasture raised eggs for $5! Love the scan and go feature on the app. There's always enough parking and its nice and peaceful inside the warehouse compared to the chaos at the Costco across the street. Overall it is way more peaceful at sams. And you are not wasting 30 minutes looking for a parking spot like at Costco. Its like night and day. read more

First time doing a curbside & I will neva do it again! I waited 45 mins! 15 mins of which I was in the store asking what the problem was! To have them tell me it's coming out jst for me to wait 10 more mins & when the guy came out he dropped our drinks so it sprayed everywhere so I had to wait another 15 mins jst to get a replacement. Im not a fan of the membership stores .. but Sams club gets 3.5... At least I don't need to use a membership for the food court now... their brownie sundae is my fave ! As for my big back cravings : their berry sundaes, churros, hot dogs yum... pizza is ok.. but their cheese hurts my tummy... During the week, it's decent. They are skimpy on samples. However, their sushi's are excellent, one of the mean reasons why I come here. Their pot pies are good. They have nice UMD merch, especially this time of the year. Checking out is a pain. I mentioned before in other reviews, I'm not a fan of self checkout. Regular checkout is a pain, usually one or two cashiers . Then it's to get out, another headache. I just canceled my membership yesterday do to rude and disrespectful behavior toward other customers and me by one of their employees. Judging by the curious, but non-interfeering looks by his co-workers, I can only assume this was not the first time he was disrespectful towards Sam's Club's clients. Managment is not existent here, and I believe this is the root cause of their issues. When there is no one to guide and support the staff, how would one expect that there would be order and professionalism in the store? I asked to talk to a supervisor to voice my concern about their employee's behavior, but none of the supervisors showed up even after multiple calls from the customer support desk. My biggest issue with Sam's is the checkout process lol and then the front door trying to get out. Other than that I love Sam's. Good deals, they always give out treats and there's lots of space. There is something for everyone in here just watch your total because that stuff adds up quick! It's a warehouse club, so lower your expectations a bit. First, the app....fantastic! Scan and go is the best. Ok, that's the good stuff. Had to get a set of tires so ordered them online. Pricing was good so set up for next day installation. Something came up and had to reschedule so I called the store. After 83 million rings someone picked up in the store (Tuesday about noon) and they insisted they had no openings until a week later. Went to the app and found that if I purchased another set they coukd install them next day, but couldn't change the appointment online. So back to the phone. Normally you will get the nationwide number because your club is busy helping other customers. Yup, that's what happened and I was told they couldn't help, that is the soonest appointment. Explained that I coukd see open slots online and suddenly the computer glitch cleared up and he had one the next afternoon. Miraculous! Got there a few minutes early and parked at the tire shop where I have parked for the last 20 years. Guy crawled out from under a car and told me I couldn't park there, so I moved it. Walked up to the door amd the same guy looked at me amd went back to work. So I rang the bell amd got him to look over again, I didn't actually get him to move but he looked. Rang again, and again..... I guess someone got tired of the bell so they buzzed the door. They didn't tell me they did it until I buzzed again. Walked into the waiting area amd waited. Then I waited. After that I waited. Finally another employee walked over and banged on the window, then we waited together. A guy came out and was very friendly and helpful. Told me it would be 1.5-2 hours. Well, I was having all 18 tires on my semi done so that seemed, nah 4 tires, passenger car. Thought I would do.my shopping and have a piece of pizza. Well what do you know, you can't order food at the Cafe anymore. Register or online only. So went and ordered. Grabbed my pizza slice and cup, got a seat out of the many available, probably because people were giving up because if you don't have the app you have to go back and wait in line again. Got my drink amd no lids, not a big deal I will ask at the counter. No, we are out-of lids. No, we can't grab some from the restaurant lid aisle. Ok, no worries, I can drink a soda in 2 hours. Then I opened the pizza slice. I am a bit of a traditionalist so imagine my surprise when the pointy end of the slice was not in the pointy end of the box. Didn't really fit and I have never seen that before. I didn't realize there was a battle raging to be the worst of the warehouse clubs, but Sam's is trying for the lead. I purchased tires at the Gaithersburg Sam's Club location #6653 and paid for the warranty protecting my purchase. One tire has not been able to maintain the recommended PSI level, so I set up an appointment to fix the tire and to rotate the others. The date for the appointment was July 3rd. After waiting 3 hours I was told the tire could not be salvaged because there was a nail in the lining. Unfortunately, the auto center did not have a replacement tire on the premises, so the tire needed to be ordered and installed on a later date. The representative from the auto center anticipated the arrival of the tire on Wednesday, July 8th and he informed me an email would be sent when the tire reached the center. I paid an additional $33.39 for the tire, although it should have still been under warranty. Fast forward to Friday, July 11th. I still had not received an email about the arrival of the tire, so I decided to call the auto center. To my chagrin, I was informed that the tire had arrived on Tuesday, July 8th. Why was I not emailed as promised? Anyway, I made an appointment for the tire to be installed on Saturday, July 12. After waiting an additional 3 hours at the Sam's Club location, the tire was finally installed. On the morning of Monday, July 14 the installed tire was completely flat. I had a doctor's appointment that was an hour away from my place of residence, so this was a major inconvenience. I was not confident in taking my car, due to the condition of the tire, so I had to make other arrangements. With all I have going on, I expect the Gaithersburg Sam's Club#6653 Auto Center to deliver services that have been paid for and not add undue stress to my life. And let's not even talk about the inner turmoil I feel, patronizing your company based on your elimination of DEI programs in support of the current administration. As an African-American, I am highly offended. But, I have always appreciated the business model and professionalism of the Walmart brand and its subsidiaries, specifically Sam's Club. Please do better next time. Additionally, my "new tire" does not hold air, the service department lost my original valve air cover, I have noticed scratches on my rim that were not there before my appointment, the rim of my tire might be bent, and the improper installation of my tire has caused me great distress because this has endangered me & my family. I've never had such a frustrating experience with curbside pickup at Sam's Club. I arrived at 6:20 PM and checked in right away, but it's now 7:18 PM, and I'm still waiting--with no sign of my groceries. Other cars were also parked and waiting, some clearly longer than I have. People were getting frustrated and driving off. I tried calling multiple times--no answer. Eventually, I went inside to ask for help, and it was clear the team was completely unorganized and overwhelmed. It didn't seem like anyone was managing curbside orders at all. The store closes at 8, but by the look of things, many people are going to leave empty-handed. If curbside is going to be offered, it needs to be better managed--this was unacceptable. read more

I visited Sam's club on 3/19/25 around 2:00 P.M. I picked up a basket and was walking down the middle Isle near furnace filter, made a left turn into the Isle. All of a sudden this man turned to me and accused me of taking his basket. I said, "I did not take your basket". He grabbed the other end of the basket and forcefully took it. I was a bit astonished and upset. Since no one else was in the Isle, I decided to just go back to the front entrance and get another basket. Not sure what this is about, but I experienced a similar assault while waiting in line at another store. I suspect its an organized form of harassment. While the store is great, the checkout process is terrible. Extremely slow and long lines whether you try to do self checkout or go to a cashier. The other bad part is the food court, which is extremely slow and doesn't have many options in stock like other Sam's Clubs. For the store itself, parking is limited but available. It's really easy to go in and find what you need. They do have some small food samples out for you throughout the store. The store is fully stocked with most things you would need, both food as well as other products. read more

We arrived at about 10 am and texted our curbside parking slot. The staff person brought out our package and put it in the trunk along with a small bag of samples (a coffee pod, Doritos, laundry detergent, snack bar, and a flushable wipe). Typically we wait 10 minutes or less for them to bring out our order. As Plus members shipping is free so we have all our non-parishable items shipped to save car space. It's just like any other warehouse store with how much stuff they have piled everywhere and the lines at the registers can be long, but at least they do have self checkout. I like the bakery, the frozen items and the fresh juice here. And even better, they've got their southern style chicken nuggets so I never have to go to Chick-fil-A again! Gotta watch out on pricing. I've noticed some produce items can be at a cheaper price at the local Lotte or Great Wall which typically has fresher produce. Also gotta watch out in the refrigerated food sections that the refrigeration actually is working. Last visit, the cheese/sausage section didn't seem to be working and the cheese felt like room temperature. Noticed that there was mold on some of the packages of cheese as well. read more

So thankful for these guys. Once I communicated clearly my situation with my car and tires they were of great help; they were able to answer all my questions so I could get clarity and make sure we get new tires before we hit the road for a long trip. Their price for new tires can't be beat and they have a great warranty of $15 per tire to get balanced and rotated every 6,000-8,000 miles for the life of the tire. I'll take that savings and the over $100 dollars I saved getting my new tires here instead of somewhere else. You must order the tires and purchase ahead of time before you make your appointment, which is a little of a downer because it means multiple trips (1st trip to order and purchase, 2nd trip to get installed), but if you do in person the tires will come the next day, online takes 3-5 days, so it's worth going in twice if in a pinch. Only other thought I have is please be able to speak English clearly, to many thick accents makes it very hard to understand and makes it hard for them to understand me. But I love saving money and realize they have great patience because they really tried to understand me and eventually did, so please return the patience. Sams gets all the stars for the scan and go option. I have a costco membership too, and Sams wins in this category. If I have to run in for 3 items or 30, that scan and go is clutch! No waiting in the line, no need to spend an extra 15 mins there...just scan as you put it in your cart and go. Sometimes I choose Sams just for that reason alone. read more

This is a small Sams Club in comparison to others I have visited. I purposely went to buy a bday cake. The selection of cake was disappointing. There were plenty to choose from (quantity) but with little variety. The bakery worker piped Happy Birthday on the cake and I was off. The checkout lines were short and I was happy I didn't have to wait long to check out. Pet Peeve alert: the cashier was engaged in a conversation with the cashier behind her nearly the entire time I was in line. The parking lot in front of the store is very tight. On the plus side there is plenty of parking surrounding the building where you are not required to drive in one-way lanes. read more

Shopping here is a pleasure, at least if you go at off times. Multiple ways of checking out - normal register, self service register, or scan as you go and pay directly from the app. Store is clean. Layout can take some getting used to and watch out for the machines carrying products down the aisles. If you have the plus membership for approximately $50 more, you can get just about anything delivered for free so you don't have to go to the store at all. This would work out well if you went often but otherwise it may not be necessary. First time Sams member and former Costco member- so far I like what I see from Sams in Gaithersburg. read more

My family and I have a Costco membership, but this past weekend we decided to stop at Sam's Club instead because they were having a "no membership needed" weekend entry. The selection and price at Sam's club is pretty much the same as Costco. We went on a Friday night, parking was easy and the lines weren't bad, around a 10/15 minute wait. What irritated me was their lack of information regarding the no membership needed weekend. We walked in and showed them the flyer we received in the mail and was let in with no problem. It wasn't until we got to the cashier did he tell us, we had to go to membership desk to receive a special card for non-members. It would of been nice to know that before, but okay that's fine. But then, we get to the membership desk and the woman rudely states there's a 10% extra surcharge for non-members! I explain how there was never any mention of an extra fee, and she apathetically says "sorry, do you still want it?" No thanks! There's nothing there I can't get at Costco or another store, and without an attitude. I wish there was at least fine print on the flyer or a sign somewhere before I wasted my time there. read more
