I really wish I could remember this guys name but I'm just disgusted. He was at the front desk, around 5'10, huge nostrils, African American with a a buzz cut. He was wearing a hat so it was hard to see. Anywho, from the moment I walked in, I felt his eyes just glaring but I like to give a benefit of a doubt, some people genuinely have staring issues. No worries. Then he started hitting on me...asking me if I wanted to keep him company while they worked on my car and saying that he'll give me admin work. On a scale of 1-10 on the disgusting scale, I'm at about a six. Then he led me into the garage and "opened the door" for me so he can steal a glimpse. I asked him to just go ahead first but he insisted and was just extremely obvious. I'm fuming and revolted now. Emmanuel was the manager was amazing though. He's the only reason I gave this tire shop a star. Shoutout to him. Update : I think I found his name on the online receipt...Randy Brown. I can't really confirm if that's him because sometimes businesses just put whoever is logged in but his coworkers should know exactly who I'm talking about when they read this. Good day, Today I purchased tires at Firestone in Riverdale, MD. I then went to the Silverspring location and they advised me that Tire Plus was an affiliate. I called and spoke to Shana and dropped off my car around 9:30 am. I received a call stating that I needed new studs. I wasn't advices of needing lug nuts. I live 0.4 miles from Advanced Auto and could have purchased the parts. I was not advised of the total cost over the phone. I purchased the Lifetime alignment warranty and was only to have two tires installed. The total labor was $341.97. Does it really cost this much to align and install two tires? I sincerely feel like I was taken advantage of. I could have towed my car and paid for the repairs some where else for a fraction of the price. Gary or Edwardo Morales told me to call corporate to discuss my concerns and corporate said it wasn't their issue. Why would Mr. Morales tell me to call corporate? They have a help wanted sign in the window and it seems that they are over charging people because of a staffing issue. My total cost to install the tires, align them and labor was $462.65 I DEMAND someone in leadership to contact me and rectify this bill. The worst service received IN MY LIFE at a tire place. Rose was obnoxious and unhelpful. Stay away from this dumpster fire of a Tire "Service" center until they either retrain Rose or get rid of her. Make sure to check out reviews on Google Maps too on this business! Update: 27Dec2023. Firestone couldn't find a leak in the right rear tire, so they cleaned the rim and applied bead seal. Also found one of the lugs was cross threaded so they didn't force it on. The Firestine in Silver Spring was definitely a better experience... mostly not having to deal with the obnoxious Rose character! Bought 4 new tires and they all leaked to 20 psi within a week. Took the car in, didn't have the right parts. Had to go in for a third time once the new valve stems came in. Had a little bit of an attitide from Rose because the new valve stems were more expensive than normal... but I've already paid for them in addition to TPMS service, which was never performed since the TPMS wasn't being used by me. A few days later, I noticed that the wheels were unbalanced and jittered at 60-65 mph. Which it didn't do after the tires were replaced. This was most likely due to the heavier (larger) valve stems that were just installed and the tires weren't rebalanced. Now for the fourth time... the shop blamed the balance issue and the jitter on the TPMS and a small amount of play on my 4 month old lower a-arm bushing. They begrudgingly balanced the tires. Well, lo and behold, the car drove normal afyer that. Now the icing on the cake. Exactly one week later, I noticed that one of the wheels was severely low. Called back and unlucky for me, got Rose. Proceeded to tell her that rhis will be the fifth time and I'm getting frustrated that the shop was wasting my time. She proceeds to tell me that their time was also being wasted... IF THE SHOP HAD DONE THINGS CORRECTLY the first time, there wouldn't have been a FIFTH TIME GOING IN. Also she proceeds to incorrectly tell me why I went in the third and fourth time and tried to continually talk over me and hung up on me. At no time did I say anything rude or obnoxious, on the contrary I cannot say that of her. She was absolutely horrible, rude and unprofessional. No where was there an apology that they were wasting alot of my time and on the contrary, I was wasting their time! Unbelievable! First and last time at Tires Plus. Hopefully their sister company, Firestone, treats their customers better, but I'm not holding my breath after this dumpster fire of a business. read more

The worst tire shop ever. Had to cancel my appointment because they don't have anyone for diagnostics. If that was the case they should've just told me that they cannot do the services. Made an appointment on one of the weekend to do a tire rotation only to let me know that they do not have anyone for diagnostic. They told me to go to another tire shop, but that way far away. This location is the closest location since my office is nearby. Never going back or calling them again. Was absolutely shocked that they didn't have anyone for diagnostics. read more

I recently spent $1,000 for four new tires here. When I turned the car on to leave, I saw the Low Pressure Tire icon was on. I checked the pressure in the new tires, and found them all set at 40 pounds, rather than the 32 pounds they were supposed to be. I fixed that, and then got an employee to help me. He couldn't get the yellow icon to turn off, but told me it would do so after I drove a few miles. It didn't. I came back the next day, and was told one of my tire pressure sensors was broken (They were all fine when I came in). And I was told it would cost me over $150 for a replacement, since they didn't assume responsibility. I balked at that and left. I did some research, and found that it is quite common for tire sensors to be damaged by technicians putting on new tires. Indeed, a friend told me this happened to her recently at a different location. I find it regrettable and annoying that Tires Plus did not fix this for free. My guess is that they thought I might drive away without noticing the Low Tire Pressure icon was on. Very sad. read more

I brought my car to the location on Russell Ave for back breaks and They changed my brakes. A week later it started squeaking and I brought the car back and the so called manager told me that's the price I would pay for going somewhere else to get brakes done that I would have to live with it. I sent $500 on brakes and its worse than it was when I first brought it in. No I will not live with it. I went back to the shop and demanded to have my old parts back and to see what brand of brakes they put on my car to fix it and I insisted on watching. Very poor customer service and quality care. My mother went to get her wheels aligned and was told it would take 2 hours, and after 3 hours they still did not bring the car in despite saying that her car was "being worked on", and did not update her or answer phone calls. The manager Hugo was very rude - we left without getting the service done and will be going elsewhere. I was highly disappointed in my visit to this Tires Plus. I have been using the Firestone/Tires Plus franchise for nearly 10 years now, but this location was a complete waste of my time. There is definitely a management problem here because there was only one guy staffed with answering all phone calls and taking all walk-in customers. This is absurd considering the number of calls they get. There should be two people managing these tasks, not one. I couldn't even get my call through to check on my vehicle. The mechanic either is not skilled, does not have the time to take proper evaluations of vehicles, or is dishonest. I cannot tell which one it is, but there is no reason to spend money on a mechanic who is any of the above. I came in for a power steering problem and I was given ~$2,000 in recommendations to fix the problem. I knew already that these recommendations couldn't possibly all be true because I had a fulllllllllllll and thorough car check less than 6 months ago from the mechanics I used for six years. There's no way that I incurred a $2,000 power steering problem in less than 6 months. I go to a different mechanic the same day and voila: belts. My accessory belts needed to be replaced. It literally cost $135 (that's parts AND labor). Tires Plus said nothing about my belts. How do I know the second mechanic was right? Not only was the power steering problem resolved. I also had a high squealing sound coming from the car while accelerating. The squealing is gone. It also makes sense because I had a different belt replaced 8 months ago, so it seems reasonable that others are due for replacement. It is insulting, disappointing, and ridiculous to have been handed such an inflated "recommendation" based on hasty/careless Tires Plus mechanics. I still believe in the Franchise, but I will NEVER return to this location again. read more

My appointment was for 7:00 am. I was second in line outside the shop before it opened at 7:00. Employee arrives at 7:00 to open the door. Helps the gentleman who was first in line (which I have no problem with). I come up and say I have an appt for so and so time. Show him the confirmation. He quotes me a different price for the job than what I got on the website. Ok, now I know wheel balancing is not included. Employee states he can't start work on my car before the garage is cleaned and cleared of clutter (this should be done the night before closing). Long story short, they started work on my car at 8:00am. So my 7:00 am appt was a waste of time. I was late to work and unable to drive there. Had to take an uber (thanks uber, 5 stars to you.) Here's a thought: if the appt is at 7:00 am, the work should start at or near 7:00 am. Not an hour later. "59 minutes or less", my butt. Terrible. read more

I came in for a new battery, brakes and an oil change. They said that my oil plug was cross threaded and they were not going to be able to change my oil. This was incorrect. The plug was NOT cross threaded. The "new" battery they installed was so dead that my car stalled out even before I left the parking lot. They installed a different battery and it turned out to be the wrong battery. The battery was about three quarters the size of the correct battery. It was so small that it couldn't even reach the side battery bracket clamp to secure the battery! Good news: They said that my brakes were fine and I didn't need new brakes but Bad news: They broke my hubcap while removing it and then said it was previously broken before they handled it. The inside of the hubcap had road grime except where the cracks were. They were perfectly clean proving that it was just damaged. I pointed that out to them and then they admitted that they broke it. Don't trust your car to these idiots!! You rely on your car to be safe. I recommend taking your car to a reputable place. NOT Tires Plus!!! read more

I noticed a nail in my tire but literally couldn't take my car in for 2 weeks. I wasn't driving it and it wasn't getting lower sitting there? When I got to Tire Plus their test showed it was definitely leaking but couldn't be plugged because of the nail was too close to the wall? They gave me a reasonable quote and I did make an appointment for the next day. On the way in the next day, I decided to stop at another shop. They plugged the tire in 10 minutes for $15 and I've been driving on it ever since. It has been 3 months... The staff seems nice enough but I won't be coming back. read more

Simple task and they just dont have the heart to do their jobs. It was my first and last time walking into that place. I made a call for some questions answered.. simple questions such as "what do you have in 225/xxRxx tire?" and what are the treadwear ratings on them?" I had to not only repeat myself several times, but couldnt tell me much other than warranty info. If i wanted to know about warranties, i will ask, but you need to answer my question first and foremost. I eventually walked in and it is probably the worst atmosphere i have been in a long time: nothing like seeing not 1, but 2 very unhappy customers in the lobby. I was there long enough to hear both stories and both had similar cases of calling in, verify the order, then come in via appointment only to find out the tires are nowhere to be found. This is a tire shop with the words in front "TIRES plus"... the plus isnt much of a plus, more like minus service and knowledge of how to run a business. I sat back to watch how it will work out and the service guys at the front counter made next-to-no-effort in making eye contact and giving decent solutions of compensation for their own mistakes. In other words: they show no empathy for their customer of the amount of time that they took off to get something important done. Yes tires are important. Then comes my turn. I took off my BRAND NEW wheel that i was going to use as a full size spare to get a wheel mounted. I dropped it off. A while later i get a phone call from the shop saying that the size i got does not fit on the rim. You have got to be kidding me. This isnt some "stance nation" stretched fitment. This was an BRAND NEW OEM WHEEL being mounted with an OEM TIRE SIZE. The service guy went back to double check and behold, they made a mistake. Upon pick up of the rim, they managed to knick up the wheel during the balancing process of putting the weights on.. they truly do not care.. there is no way I would let these monkeys touch any of my stuff from here on out. And then, a week after the first nail, I drive over another one! I got great service in Rockville both times, but this time I needed to go closer to home.They took care of it in a friendly and helpful manner. I came for tires, but ended up actually needing brakes.... and rotors. Grr! My life. Anywho, they were honest with me about it. They asked me to come to the work area to see the brakes myself, without me having to ask first. I had quite a few questions and even though they seemed like they were over it before I was, my questions were answered thoroughly. Long story short, I decided to hold off on tires for now. Made an appointment to get 4 new tires, oil change and alignment. Was told that they had to order my tires and they would be there by my scheduled time. Of course when I got there, no tires. Took my girlfriends car here a few months back for tire repair. Didn't get pressured for extra stuff. Had an issue recently with my air being low in tires. Took my car by and they filled for free. Didn't get rid of my tpm sensor, so I took it back 3 days later and they filled them more and it got rid of the tripped sensor. No hassle or difficulty. I took my car in for an oil change. The mechanic requested that I come into the shop where they had a filthy filter lying on the front section of the car. A blackened, leaf-covered disgusting thing fit only for the garbage. The gentleman informed me that this was my cabin filter and needed to be replaced immediately...at a cost of $99.00 I told him forget it. The next day I went to Walmart, bought the filter for $23.00. Took less than five minutes to access the cabin filter through the glove compartment and the filter that I pulled out was a discolored filter with some debris, needed changing. NOT the disgusting thing presented as mine. The same shop "warned" me that my timing belt was on the verge of failure, my brakes were millimeters from failure... This same car passed the MD state inspection less than two weeks later. Crooks. read more

I do my own work on my car no one else jacks my car up but me. I took my car here to install new tires because I don't have the equipment. Come to find out after being under the the car that my pinch welds are completely destroyed! They did not support my car on the sub frame! I had a TPMS installed on my rims about two weeks ago and after after two weeks while cleaning the car I noticed that there was a huge scrape on my right passenger side rims that was impossible to notice unless the rims are turned upward. The scrape was on the inner side of the rims exposing the aluminum I was kinda disappointed that they never revealed the incident to me.
