Sam's Club at 2850 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76201 These are the three employees I was dealing with doing this very interesting experience/ordeal at Sam's club. ‍‍‍Celina, Daniel and Yasmin we're all having a bad day but making the best of it. Seems like the system was down. They were not able to give people cash back for some reason. I think this is going into more of a cashless transaction in these stores. It all started with me going just to the cafe to order some pizzas and being told that you had to go to the register to order the pizzas first. I think you have to have a membership to do that when you used to just purchase it at the register at the cafe. Just a lot of chaos was going on but I did get a Sam's club membership and a premium membership at that. So that being said I give it to the employees that kept their cool and kept a customer coming back. People reading these reviews need to understand I think Sam's club is going cashless as much as possible and I think they're going to make you check everything out yourself as much as possible. I really like this Denton location. This was my first time at this location and I was impressed at how clean and organized the store was. The fruit and veggies were well priced and fresh. The strawberries in my packages were HUGE, so I really felt like I got the bang for my buck. Definitely a great value. The checkout line was super long. So I opted to use the Scan & Go feature. So to day me and my family went to Sam's to get some pizza and a drink, and they went full cashless on their café and we were having trouble with the app but we had a very nice and helpful manager Jeremy he was very helpful and considerate and made it to where we could get our stuff so definitely recommend coming and checking them out. To buy the highly touted food, you had to download the Sam's app which was made worse by the fact that there was no WiFi. The floor was not clean, the atmosphere was nonexistent, and the people driving in the parking lot were extreme reckless drivers. I strongly recommend going to a different location. read more

There are no longer any Sam's in Washington State so it was nice to visit one in Texas. This is a nice store. Very spacious and we found all that we needed for my best friend's church function very quickly. The self checkout was nice. We needed assistance and someone came very quickly and apologized for the delay. The reason for only three stars is that one of the deli staff was dressed very inappropriately. He had on black pants and blue boxer underwear that REALLY needed to be pulled up. I can't believe they let him work like that. It definitely made me uncomfortable. read more

Please do not get tires from Sam's club. You might swayed by the reasonable prices of its name brand tires, but the service stinks and the staff is not properly trained. I went there at my scheduled appointment time for 4 tires bought and installation and 2 hours later they tell me they can't get the lugs off two tires. I already paid for 4 tires, installation and everything. Fairly new SUV but they tell me it must be corroded. I talked to manager of shop (female) and someone who claimed they were store manager (female) who obviously never had any training in customer service or auto mechanic. Said might break something if tried. Didn't try to send me to another Club but essentially said "here take your 2 tires we put on and other 2 in trunk and leave" and by the way if you have someone else put on those other two tires you will not have a warranty. And if you uber you won't have warranty either. Argued me down about getting lugs removed and said they cannot be removed because corroded (this is a fairly new car). I called my mechanic who doesn't even do maintenance on tires, but he told me to come over and in 10 seconds he got the lugs off the tires. Essentially I paid for installation and now they put 2 tires in my car and want me to go some other place for installation. Sams Club either don't have the equipment to remove the lugs and/or haven't properly trained the staff who wants to argue with you. I brought the car back after the mechanic loosened the lugs and now its 5 hours at Sam's and they still don't have the tires. Incompetence at its worst and those two woman are clueless. We moved here from NJ and decided to sign up for Sam's Club about 2 weeks ago. Friday and my wife wants to try the pizza. Sounds easy, right? Apparently you need the Sam's App. Got it. Then she can't order a pizza without having an additional $4 curbside pickup. Except I'm heading into the store to pick it up. The app wouldn't allow this. I spotted what looked to be someone in charge and I meet Jeremy, food service manager! I explained the situation and he sincerely apologized for the app glitch. Jeremy took me to the eyeglasses area and was able to scan in my card, the pizza barcode and accept payment! We returned to the food area and I watched Jeremy then facilitate helping the long line of waiting customers and even an employee! This guy took command presence to a new level! Jeremy jumped right into the kitchen area and basically saved the day. He personally handed me my order and I said I'd take care of a great Yelp review. Thanks again Jeremy for who you are, and see you soon. Please forward this to Jeremy asap! He deserves a raise! read more

I absolutely love Sams! Especially this location, it can get busy but if you go during normal school / work hours you will basically have the whole place to yourself. My favorite part is all the clothing that are good brands but are reasonably priced, pretty sure I walk away with a new clothing item every time I go in. Also it's nice because you can buy all your food / toiletries / produce.. etc in bulk which is good for big families and / or preparing for a party / event. They have any tech needs: chargers, computers, tv's, cellphones, printers, ink.. etc. They also have all types of furniture, bedding, linen.. etc. Sams has always been well stocked and clean when I've ever been. No to include that the workers are super friendly and always willing to help. read more

They sold us gift cards that don't work. Then when we went back to the store they said they forgot to scan one of them but the others should work. But neither worked when we tried to use them. Be careful to double check them on your receipt at the register. They were not helpful at all read more

Unfortunately I went to the Sams club over a month ago and was rudely treated by the staff of the auto center! I arrived needing air in my tire. I left with a flat tire ironically the attendant did all sorts of weird hand movements by that tire and he caused the flat! When I walked away it went flat immediately. the man/woman? with long hair and little teeth that was at the entrance on 8/26/24 around 1130am asked for my membership card under their breath so I did not hear them at all. SOLELY BASED ON BAKERY EXPERIENCE - Got a double decker cookie cake for a loved ones birthday. The cookie was om but not as good as a simple McDonald's or other fast food joint cookie. A little on the dry side. The chocolate chips were overly sweet and underlying chocolatey. But the frosting was bad - sicky sweet and there was an almost invisible layer of frosting between the 2 layers. As a double doozie cookie cake we expected there to be a tangible layer or filling of frosting. But it was hard to tell there was anything there. I went here on a Saturday at 8:15 am for the tires to take advantage of being a plus member. They took me in without an appointment as I needed to get my tires rotated and balanced. I ended up walking around the store for an hour and playing Pokemon while waiting as they have gyms in the shopping center. It is a smaller Sam's Club compared to the others. But service was good and friendly. The tire center does have a waiting area with a TV to watch from which was nice something I have not seen in others. Excellent location. Yes, it gets busy but so does every other club store in Texas. Do yourself a favor and do curbside pickup. You can get all the same items and never have to be inside the store. We love their premade dinners like chicken pot pie-I fed 7 people for dinner with just one pie! And the garlic knots are to die for. The employees are nice and they are quick when doing curbside. They have fairly good prices on the bulk items. They have a good selection of meats, chicken and fish. They have a few sampling stations, mostly for frozen foods. We've been here several times on the weekend but it never gets quite as crazy busy as Costco. Normally they have food options of a mini court but currently it's under construction so the only option they have is hotdogs and soda. I decided to make the trip to this Sam's Club and am so glad that I did as I was able to find the shelving unit quite easily with the help of their friendly staff. It's Sam's, what's not to like. I know there are people out there who will stand by Costco and that's cool but there isn't one in Denton. I don't even like shopping so I'm sure not going to leave town to do it, University is enough of a beating for me. Prices in bulk are great. This is an ideal option for large families and small businesses. We come early on the weekend to beat the crowd and get a good parking spot. Depending on our budget we come a couple times a year for huge trips or every couple of months for a few things. My biggest pet peeve before joining Sam's when they opened was shopping on a budget and spending so much money for so little food because of how expensive laundry detergent or shampoo is. For $9 one bottle of Dove lasts 9 months. Now it's just the 2 of us so if I get two containers of Tide it will last well over a year. It's also the only place I can get a large container of my coveted Folger Columbian. They got samples all the time, meals to go, a cafe that sells pizza and icees. I got my husband a tablet for his birthday last month, the exact one he wanted with a case for under $300. We have gotten a great desk chair from here and shelving, it's great. My only gripe is that bread products are sold in twos which we can't finish before they expire. Not a big deal on price but it's wasteful for us. I can't stand the texture of bread that has been frozen and thawed. Again a big family is an ideal shopper here. Also, I like that you can get soup in bulk but it would be cooler if it had more than 2 flavors. Every time I do a click and pull they can't find my order. I mean I can see my order and I point to it but they can never find it right away in the system. Not sure if it's because of my complicated last name or because that software needs to be updated. Not too big of a deal as I don't do it often and am considering getting the app to scan as I go. All places have room for improvement but this is a great cheap option in town. This club is very nice and clean. Everything is organized and all signage is posted. I didn't see any bad produce and the meat.... Oh my goodness that my favorite part. All packed in club size but if you're a small family, it's easy to part up at hime to freezer for easy planned use. They have ample self check and team member assisted check out. WATER IN THE GAS!!! I get premium gas here. Every time I get premium, and every time there is enough water in the gas to make my car chug immediately after fill up. It is obviously deliberately added. I use the same gas in my mower and had to get a repair due to water in the gas. Next issue is whenever I shop at Sam's they are generally out of whatever I wanted. Why bother even shopping there!?! Next issue is they want me to renew my membership, but now they want me to pay an extra $45 for my wife? LOL. I won't even be renewing my own membership. Next issue, they start plugging me for membership renewal 4 months before it is due. How pathetic is that!?! Worst of all, now they are playing a Nigerian scam on members by trying to sucker you into auto paying your membership with phishing emails claiming that there is a problem with your payment method for auto pay. I was in this week and was looking at out sourced bakery products close to their bakery goods. They had a Apple Fritter product I reached for and noticed a fly. I swiped it away then reached again only to see all of their clear plastic boxes were full of flies. I saw a worker by the rotisserie chicken counter told her and said I would also tell Managment when I check out. I had to go back to the area to pick up prepackaged tortillas. Decent store. Not as large as many and with that comes a bit of tradeoff on items. I did however like the grocery section and how it was set up with two additional refrigerated sections for produce and dairy. A lot of additional vendors in this center really coming up to customers and I don't personally like being approached like this however the demos in store and nice so maybe a happy median can be reached. read more

(20 people were consistently in line to exit, 6 ladies were standing around in the customer pick up area chatting away and watching us but no one came over to help the guy scan tickets so we could leave The self order kiosk were down in the food court and you had to hunt someone down to get information on how to get an order entered.
