The cashier was nice and had good energy. I ordered a burger and my husband got the spicy chicken sandwich. The burger was pretty good, just a standard smash patty with a potato bun. The fries were pretty good as well. I will say the house made ranch was a little bland. The chicken sandwich was good as well. Nice crisp to the patty and good spice.

There's a cool wood-fired oven for pizza, which was a fun process to watch. I ordered the patty melt, which is something I never order, but I was in a rush to decide & did one of those, "I'll have what he's having" things when my husband ordered his patty melt. We're big seltzer water people, so when we went to order a seltzer and the lady told us it was free and self-serve, I was elated. The food didn't take very long & it was tasty looking! The sandwich was cut in half with smashed burger meat overflowing past the bread. It was glorious. The part of the plate that wasn't dominated by melty goodness was filled with with well-seasoned and crisp homemade fries. I could smell how delicious everything was the moment the moment the plate was set down in front of me. Flavor & texture of all the things exceeded expectations. The patty melt had layers of crispy fried onions that made for a lovely and tasty first-bite surprise, & continued to bring joy with each subsequent bite. Every there was incredibly nice and friendly. Dining there was so easy and lovely. Would love to come back the next time we pass through!

Sweet Tea Express - 1/2 Order Biscuits & Gravy w/pork sausage patty. mmmm, so good!

We were both commenting how good everything was: breakfast burrito came with a side of pico style salsa which was the perfect foil for the richness of the insides, which were egg, potato, ham, bacon, sausage and a little gravy. This was seriously yummy and needed that pop of acid from the salsa so great together, nice one. The mushroom Swiss had a nice char from the flat top and fries were crispy and fresh tasting. All-in-all a pretty flawless execution for reasonable price and the portions were definitely large enough to share. We will be back to try more of the menu. Getting the jalapeño on the side was also a great addition in hindsight. No charge for that and they grilled it to take down the heat a bit. What else do you want from a little place like this? I think they are doing it right. So far so good.

There is a place across town that I was going to give another chance to, as I really wanted to try their food and was on their side of town that morning, but AGAIN, they were closed @ 10:15AM on this last Friday morning 1/30/26....sooo... I went back here to Sweet Tea Express due to the deliciousness encountered here last visit. I'm telling you they are not only good, but consistently GOOD. I'd asked for their half order of biscuits & gravy and a pork sausage patty on the side- which they cheerfully did. Excellent sized portion, delicious, and FLAVORFUL gravy (why can't other places in Grants Pass get this right?); tasty biscuit and quality pork sausage. That 'other place' I'd so wanted to try is more insignificant by each reflective thought on how tasty this was at Sweet Tea Express. Can't wait to do it again! The service is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is low-key, relaxed, and VERY neat and clean.

Yes!!! This place (Sweet Tea Express) we'd had a favorable lunch experience many months ago and I wasn't aware they also served breakfast. So here we went, and it's much closer to our house than the other one is anyways. This place has the BEST country gravy out of anywhere else I've tried in Grants Pass. I was so into my sausage patty with egg and hash-browns plate ( I added country gravy) that I forgot to take a picture; but my wife had a delicious Cobb Salad w/ Grilled Chicken (pic included), and our friend had biscuits & gravy with Eggs & Sausage (also pictured). Oh my STARS these are the kinds of breakfasts that one hopes to find, and are SO delicious!!!! Our server, Danielle, was a blessing and it was her first day on the job today (she told us)...and she did an amazing job. Very attentive & cordial. (Thank you) The ambiance was very relaxed, the establishment is clean as a whistle, and many locals were here enjoying their meals. Oh yes. Also a shout out to the Chef and the other nice lady behind the counter. You folks are all top-shelf and have a great product. Can't wait to see you all again!

Their country biscuit + gravy plate is a great value, too. The ribs are delicious, as well. The only side I really love is their coleslaw. The baked beans are an acquired taste. They're way more vinegar/mustard forward than sweet (Carolina-style, I guess). The potato & the mac salads are very pepper-forward. I like black pepper, but the couple of times I've had their potato & mac salad it was a bit too heavy on the black pepper, for me. All in all a solid, local establishment. The food is consistently delicious.
