They realized what I just had been through and I am from out of town they actually listened to my sob story and then offered to feed me for free. I got the best of both worlds. The dining area inside Weekend Brewery is very clean, comfortable and the patrons are all great- many of them friendly and chatty. IMO Valentino's has one of the top 3 pastrami sandwiches here in GP (along with Cartwrights and Big Block Sandwich Shop) and my vote is, though all three are formidably delicious, Valentino's ranks # not just in Quality but Quantity. Their French Fries are also #1 here in GP. Just the right color, texture and flavor and just the right amt of salt. Mmmmmmm.... Yes!!! This place (Sweet Tea Express) we'd had a favorable lunch experience many months ago and I wasn't aware they also served breakfast. So here we went, and it's much closer to our house than the other one is anyways. This place has the BEST country gravy out of anywhere else I've tried in Grants Pass. I was so into my sausage patty with egg and hash-browns plate ( I added country gravy) that I forgot to take a picture; but my wife had a delicious Cobb Salad w/ Grilled Chicken (pic included), and our friend had biscuits & gravy with Eggs & Sausage (also pictured). Oh my STARS these are the kinds of breakfasts that one hopes to find, and are SO delicious!!!! Our server, Danielle, was a blessing and it was her first day on the job today (she told us)...and she did an amazing job. Very attentive & cordial. They're way more vinegar/mustard forward than sweet (Carolina-style, I guess). The potato & the mac salads are very pepper-forward. I like black pepper, but the couple of times I've had their potato & mac salad it was a bit too heavy on the black pepper, for me. All in all a solid, local establishment. We were both commenting how good everything was: breakfast burrito came with a side of pico style salsa which was the perfect foil for the richness of the insides, which were egg, potato, ham, bacon, sausage and a little gravy. This was seriously yummy and needed that pop of acid from the salsa so great together, nice one. The mushroom Swiss had a nice char from the flat top and fries were crispy and fresh tasting. All-in-all a pretty flawless execution for reasonable price and the portions were definitely large enough to share. We will be back to try more of the menu. Getting the jalapeño on the side was also a great addition in hindsight. No charge for that and they grilled it to take down the heat a bit. What else do you want from a little place like this? I think they are doing it right. So far so good.

There is a place across town that I was going to give another chance to, as I really wanted to try their food and was on their side of town that morning, but AGAIN, they were closed @ 10:15AM on this last Friday morning 1/30/26....sooo... I went back here to Sweet Tea Express due to the deliciousness encountered here last visit. I'm telling you they are not only good, but consistently GOOD. I'd asked for their half order of biscuits & gravy and a pork sausage patty on the side- which they cheerfully did. Excellent sized portion, delicious, and FLAVORFUL gravy (why can't other places in Grants Pass get this right?); tasty biscuit and quality pork sausage. That 'other place' I'd so wanted to try is more insignificant by each reflective thought on how tasty this was at Sweet Tea Express. Can't wait to do it again! The service is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is low-key, relaxed, and VERY neat and clean.
