Terrible service. Male (maybe Sammy) was absolutely rude. He kept scolding me for messing up my nails however, I was just asking him to fix blatantly uneven nails. He ended up walking away and someone had to come finish. To top it off, i paid $50 for terrible quality nails that are not at all what I wanted. read more

My pedi and eyebrows were done by Kim ---super friendly! My fullset with coffin shape was done by Ken which turned out really nice! Will definitely come back. Update: so I cheated on this nail shop and decided to try out a cheaper nail shop and I horribly regret doing so. My nails from sammy lasted so long that I honestly only need a fill from ken but unfortunately I get off work late and I was forced to cheat because I just couldn't walk around with ratchet nails anymore. I should've just waited moral of the story is be loyal to your nail shop that works out for you Update: So I've been going to sammys and this time Kim left to go on vacay in Vietnam so I get this guy who did a horrendous job my pedi and dip gel mani. I was running errands and needed my nails done so I decided to try it. First off, no one greeted me. I didn't know where to find the colors for gel to choose trim. She then yelled at me asking me why i didn't have a color yet. She made me nails bleed and didn't even clean the blood before she started painting my nails. God i wish i could rate them a zero star. The girl i got was horrible. Granite the nails are ok color wise but i will never go there again. I walk in to get a manicure with polish. Not any fake nails cause they have been bothering me. So the start of the experience she kept getting up and going to the back. Then she kept trying to push the nail dip to ne ( which i know u have to up sale) but i told her i was allergic to it. So she cuts my nails then starts painting them. On the board it says $12 for manicure and she is charging me $25. So i asked why i was paying so much just for a paint. She said oh i cut your cuticles. And the biggest part why i get manicures is because when weather gets cold my hands really start hurting so the massage helps. So i paid $25 for a woman to painty nails. When i went up to pay she said if u dont like me then u can ask for someone else. I told her i would not be returning i wpuld go to the belleville location. She said not to come back so i asked for the managers number and she refused to give it to me. i've been to this nail salons many, many times. it's very convenient for me because it's in a shopping plaza right by the gym i go to & the grocery store i usually stop at on the way home. it's not a top knotch salon, but for the price ($10 for mani, $20 for pedi), i think it's a pretty good deal! my manis usually last about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks & my pedis last almsot a month without chipping! this nail shop has a big screen tv to watch if not into talking, but if you are, most of the nail techs speak very good english! i know that sounds silly, but i've been to many nail salons where the techs only speak vietnamese & it's so hard to tell them what you want. you can make an appointment if you want to, but i never do & i rarely wait more than 5-10 minutes to get in. i usually just get a basic mani or pedi, but they have other services like the acrylic nails, gel wraps, paraffin wax treatment, eyebrow waxing and salt scrubs. they accept cash or credit card, but if i remember correctly, you have to tell them how much you want to tip before they run the card because you can't add it afterwards. i always make a habit of having cash on me to tip if i know im going to be stopping by. btw, my favorite tech is michelle!! ask for her! read more

This is one of the places that needs a zero star. I was in a desperate moment when my manicure gel needed to be removed so I found this place in the shopping area near the hotel. I hope that the Health Department goes there soon. The place is dirty and the staff extremely rude. I told them that I want the gel removed and a quick polish not a whole manicure to hold me over until I get back home. The nail person asked me to dip my hand in a bowl of acetone, hello, do they know that the acetone is a carcinogen???? I told her no, then she was very annoyed and did the method with the aluminum foil. After waiting for a while she comes and starts removing the gel off my nails with her nails instead of a proper tool. I asked her is she has a tool to remove the gel so she got even more annoyed and sent a guy to do that. To make this worst the nails polish I picked was very old, a gum like consistency so they added acetone to dilute it a little bit, however it never got dry after waiting for a while under a UV light on a table that was extremely dirty, so I had them removed it and I paid and walked out. read more

First time coming here and I wasn't really impressed. I did a manicure with gel nail polish. She soaked my nails in acetone, then scrapped the polish off with her nails vs a tool. Once she was done, she just got up and walked away. Then a man came over and just stuck his hand out to look at my nails. I guess they were switching people.. but of course they didn't inform me. This place is horrible! Do not go to get your nails done here unless you have half a day to spend in the salon. I was there for 2 1/2 hours and an hour of it was spent soaking in a tub. Water in my tub actually got cold because I was waiting for so long. They only had three workers and a long line of people waiting. Absolutely terrible. $15 for a polish change that they only put one coat of polish on. Did not get polish to the edges. Missed several areas on the nail itself which not the nail is splotchy. Rude customer service. Then has the audacity to ask for a tip in cash, when one.. they didn't deserve a tip and two... I paid with a card. Horrible experience. Took my mom who is 87 for a simple nail trim and buff. The technician, and I use that term lightly, was in such a hurry that when she she was clipping the nails she made a large cut on my mom's thumb. It was bleeding all over and it is obvious she had no idea what to do. She starts pouring a blue liquid on it then loads it up with nail glue trying to get the bleeding to stop. No First Aid Kit, no one stepping up to help her. It was still bleeding when I got her out of there and took her home to properly take care of it. It was so loaded with glue that I could not get it fully cleaned and now have to watch for an infection. On top of all that, they still charged us for the trim. Stay away from this place. read more

TERRIBLE experience! I opted for a more expensive pedicure, thinking it would be more relaxing. It felt rushed, was painful, and turned out very poorly. While I was there, two other customers had a poor experience, as well. One woman was there getting a mani/pedi for her son's wedding the next day. She did not like the result of her pedicure, her nails weren't the right color (which she expressed and the staff did not seem to care), and she was overcharged. I don't live in the area (anymore) but have been here a handful of times. My most recent visit this past weekend was probably my last, though. Seems like the place has really gone downhill. The polish selection was lacking. They only have OPI and one other brand--no Essie. And I could tell that some bottles were really old because the tops were caked on so tightly that some I couldn't even get them opened. While I didn't have to wait for a manicure ($12) on a Friday afternoon, it was pretty busy in there and the woman who was working on me did a really rushed, somewhat rough job. And I had the pleasure of listening to her chomp on her gum the entire time she did my nails. My manicure is okay. Like I said, the woman totally rushed through it and there are two nails that have a little piece of fuzz under the polish which drives me crazy. It's now Monday and I got the manicure on Friday and it's mostly in-tact, so I guess for $12 I can't complain too much. The other thing that annoyed me with this place--and this isn't the first place I've experienced this--is that the woman who did my nails asked me repeatedly if I wanted to get a pedicure, too. Apparently it didn't matter that I said "no" the first time. I had on flip flops and had literally just gotten a pedicure, so it's not like my toes even looked bad! I get manicures every 2 weeks and this was my 2nd visit (the first was just as bad...but I thought I would give them one more shot). Extremely unprofessional and rude. My nail tech seemed to be speeding on something and furiously checked her iPad the entire time. My cuticles are covered in polish and my nails are very thin from all the drilling that she "had" to do. I'm not exaggerating when I say worst mani I've ever had. I only went here because I received a gift card. The service was definitely not great. I noticed that they did not sanitize their tools in between customers, which had me praying not to get a fungus. One of the nail techs was working on an old man next to me, and she cut his toe pretty badly with a nail file, putting that nail file back into the filing kit. I would not go back. Terrible service. Was in town waiting to get my oil changed and decided to remove my old acrylics (I had had them for a while) and get new ones. I got a full set with gel polish, so it was not cheap. The whole time, the man working on my nails was looking at his phone and watching TV. The gel polish was uneven, it got all over my hands, and he did not shape my nails the way I asked him to. I even showed him a picture multiple times. My mom was with me, she just got a gel polish fill. The woman working on her was on her phone and watching TV as well. She had to use THREE DIFFERENT nail clippers because they were so old and clogged from being used and not cleaned. The cuticle scissors weren't clean, the way the lady cleaned them was by dipping them in the same water my mom was soaking her nails in. Her polish is also uneven and already chipping not even an hour after. Would never go back here again. read more

I give this place ZERO stars. I went to get a pedicure only because I happened to be in that are, I typically go to another salon. I figured it would be fine but as I was getting my pedi the nail tech was finishing up soaking off another ladies nails, once she was done she put the acetone BACK IN THE BOTTLE. Then she repeatedly ask me if I wanted a manicure or waxing and to upgrade my pedicure, when I said no she seemed to get angry. She did a below average job and was rude, nevertheless I still tipped her but she snatched the money out of my hand like I owed her more. The pedi was 20 which is about 5 dollars above other places. Very relaxing!! My family was in the area for the holidays and decided on a girls trip for mani pedis. Sammy's was close so we decided to try it even though the ratings weren't as good as some others a bit further away. I'm glad we chose to come. Our deluxe pedicures were amazing, my daughter's new set was well done and the price was comparable to our home town. This place is very bad in customer service. This is my second time and still a very disapponting place to go to. The guy that work there is very rude. He did my mani as fast as lightning. I sat there almost in tears out of dismay and dont want to say anything because that same time, another custome after me, complained and he kicked her out of his salon. The lady asked for a manager so she can speak to but he told her to get out! I was terrified of him. So i sat there while the other lady did my pedi, I asked her if I can borrow her nipper so I can fix my mani that he just did. I've been going here for years. I've watched their clientele drop over the years. I go at least monthly and tip well. My 7 year old daughter wanted her nails painted for her birthday. There was no one waiting, but they tell me there is at least an hour wait. I've seen them work customers in when they only had 2 technicians working. A simple paint is 10 minutes tops. I guess they don't want business. If you can't take my daughter then I'll take my own business somewhere else too. The customer service is just terrible! read more

After reading reviews I decided to try Sammy Nail in Belleville, walked in and out in about 2 minutes. Not very welcoming. I then went to Shiloh Crossing and noticed another Sammy Nails, I should've learned from the first one. However they were welcoming, 2 stars comes into place because it was a very sloppy pedicure, that didn't seem like they cared and all the polish seemed old. I will not return to ANY Sammy nails. I was ripped off. My bill was $56. I gave "T" $60 and an extra $20, asking for change for the $20 so I could give him a proper $10 tip. He gave me only $4 back, and when I asked about the change for the $20, he said I never gave him the extra $20. There was no reasoning with him. And, Sammy sat right there and wouldn't intervene. I told "T" I knew he wasn't trying to rip me off, but he had made a mistake. There was no way to prove it, so I lost my $20. I will tell everyone I know NOT to go there. They don't care, and they had no desire to fix their mistake!!!!!!!! read more

Yelp, you have it right..EEEK...ME THINKS NOT! WORST nail salon experience of my life. Upon reading other reviews I was definitely skeptical, but decided to give them a try anyways due to their location close to my home. As soon as I opened up the door I knew something wasn't right about a nail salon being completely a ghost town at 1 pm (I was the only customer the entire duration of my service, not even a single phone call was made). I was greeted by a woman, in her early-mid 40s, who was in dire need of a mustache waxing. The woman was not at all friendly. She asked if I wanted gel polish and I declined as I like regular polish just as well. She gave me an eye roll and motioned for me to sit down at her chair, the chair closest to the front door. My technician rushed through taking the old dark polish off of my nails and left some on the ridges which can now be seen through the light polish she put on! It's so noticeable and i'm half tempted to take this polish off and apply a darker polish to conceal the old leftover paint marks. In addition, she also rushed through filing my nails and cut the bottom part of my thumb nail until it bled. It was very obviously bleeding and she applied acetone over it-OUCH. She continuously filed at my sliced thumb nail until it hurt so bad I had to jerk my hand away. She gave me a half smile and said, "are you okay now?" Um, i'm just fine as long as you stop going over the same place you sliced me! The gross part was when she had me change stations to one parallel to the drying area. As soon as I sat down she turned around to a plastic shelving unit, took out nail clippers and started cutting her index finger nail. When she was finished clipping she tossed the clippers back into the top drawer. Next, she grabbed a file and filed her fingernail all while i'm sitting there staring at her in awe. After she was done she closed the drawer and started her work back on me...I'm doubting those tools were sanitized. When I was told to go wash my hands I walked over to a single-standing white sink that looks to be salvaged from habitat from humanity and turned on the faucet. Water started leaking out of the hot water knob as I washed my hands as fast as I could. The towels provided to dry your hands on reek of urine...seriously, they smell like someone peed on them and then left them to dry before placing them on the shelf for public use. The entire service was spent in utter silence. The only sounds heard was the owner, Sammy, ordering things on the phone and another technician who kept awkwardly laughing loudly every 5 mins or so while watching something on her iPod...unprofessional. When my nails were painted I was instructed to sit over at the drying area. As soon as my tech turned on the dryer it was so loud! I thought it was actually going to explode in my face and I was temped to ask if the machine was supposed to sound like a slowly dying lawn mower. After 15 minutes of sitting at this dusty contraption I got up and asked if I could pay now. I was overcharged (they say a fill is $15+ and I paid $19) for an acrylic fill and just regular polish... will NOT go back! I left with my nails looking atrocious, mainly the polish and my bloody crusty thumb. The top coat used was so thick it left brush stroke marks on my nails... ugh ugh ugh! read more

They post hours as opening at 9:30 a.m. but did not show up until 9:50 a.m. They saw me as I stood outside as they walked around with no since of urgency to open there doors. Wish I had read the reviews before I went in. I was in the area shopping and decided to treat myself to a Pedicure. Staff was very rude and were busy talking amongst themselves or talking on cell phones. The lady grated off the tip of my toe and immediately said "that was your fault". Next she put my feet into the paraffin dip then looked at me and said she had to go pick someone else up, got her purse, got in her car and left. I sat in the chair for 15 minutes with baggies of wax on my feet and cold towels wrapped on my legs. When she came back she gave me a crappy foot/leg massage (I paid for the more expensive pedicure). She did a mediocre job of painting my toes while she talked on the phone. When she was done I went up to pay with my toe still bleeding and my flip flop now looking like I've been walking through a murder scene (never offered a Band-Aid or even a tissue to clean up the blood). Finally, this was actually the point when I just about lost it.....after I paid FULL price for crappiest/bloodiest pedicure I have ever had she had the nerve to ask me if I had CASH for her tip because she doesn't like to wait two weeks for it to go on her check. Go somewhere else! Average prices for crappy work. I got a full gel set, my cuticles were cut up and bleeding. My hands started sweating from it being so hot in there and the lady kept complaining about it and blaming the cuts on my "wet" hands. Even though she was on the phone or watching tv the whole time and not paying attention. She held long phone conversations then would hang up and say, 'sorry'. After filing, before applying the gel, I asked if I was supposed to wash my hands, she said no and slapped the gel right on top of the filed nail grit. I can only hope I don't get an infection. All my nails are clearly leaning to the side and are crooked. Instead of fixing it she argued with me that they looked fine to her and that I was wrong. Finally, when checking out she asked if I wanted to pay $30 even, before running my card. When I said yes, she stared at me for a second, took a deep breath, rolled her eyes and ran the card. It smells like cigarette smoke. The young man doing my toes just wiped his face with his hand and then touched my foot. The tools are not soaking in cleaner. Very Rude. Will never return. I got a mani pedi for myself and my niece Satruday and spent 75 dollars. I decided I did not like the polish and returned later for a polish change. I expected to pay for a polish change no big deal. I had three different people who work there ask me why I wanted a polish change and I explained that I just didn't like what I had chosen and needed it changed since I am going to a wedding Sunday and didn't want to feel uncomfortable. They laughed and spoke to each other in another languge. I was taken to a nail station where the woman asked me if I didn't want to think about it. I said NO. I then asked about gelish polish I had seen and asked did it really last two weeks. She told me that she would not put it on me becuase I change my mind. WHAT?! While wating for my nails to dry another woman approached me and said to be sure I like my polish from now on before I leave. I asked what the big deal was can I not change my mind. It is just more money for you? I was sitting with two girls who said that they would never be back because they were treated very rude as well.
