It wasn't a good gel manicure. The color didn't match the sample and the application was lumpy. Plus the tools didn't appear to be sterile The file and buffer looked used. I couldn't stand them and had them redone. read more

I called around 2:45 on a Saturday afternoon, and asked if they had time for a pedicure. She said, "you want to come now?" So I said sure and was there 5 minutes later. I was greeted and told to pick my color. I did, and my guy filled up my tub and we got started. He set me up with the massage chair, and heated up my water to my liking. There weren't many people there, which I liked, and it was pretty relaxing, with the music playing. My guy was great, very friendly but not too talkative, lol. I called on a Sunday thinking there was no way I'd get in, but I was told to just come on down. Luckily I arrived just as a few people were leaving so they plenty of time for me. I got a mani-pedi with gel color. The atmosphere was very peaceful- piano music and videos of Hawaii playing on a few TV's. They had the front door and back door open so there was a super pleasant breeze going through the salon. I was there just under an hour and felt SO relaxed when I left. My nail color is perfect and it was done expertly, without any pain. (My nails and cuticles are usually in terrible shape and I had 3-4 hangnails that he gently trimmed. I've gotten manicures before where they rip it off or cut so close to the skin that it bleeds - ouch!) Anyway, i thought it was very nice. Plus, the gramma was there playing with and holding the kids (who are very well behaved!) and it was just so peaceful. I love the family atmosphere. I'm new to the area so I'll probably try a couple other places, but will definitely come back here. read more

This rating is based on my nails. Got the dip for the first time and didn't last 1 week. I had to make another trip up there so she could redo my nails BUT she rushed and only re-did the ones where the Polish came off. I should have asked for the tip back that I paid. Once I have the dip removed, I'm curious to see if I have any nails because she used the drill on my nails Non-Stop. And everyone knows they only use the drill to rush through the process. She should have used acetone to remove the Polish. I will never have her do my nails again and suggest she go back to St Louis! PEDICURE - the guy did an excellent job! No complaints. I will never go back to Tropical again because 2 days after the redo, Polish came off another nail. It was a waste of my time and my money. I always have a good nail experience at this place. It's my preferred nail salon now. I know when I go to them I won't need to be worried if there's gonna be a mistake. Book in advance because the nail technicians can get quite busy. I wouldn't really recommend being a walk-in. read more

But that eventually becomes daunting so I decided to give one last nail salon a try. I couldn't have asked for better service at Tropical Nails Spa. My appointment was at 3:30 and they starting working on me right away. I would suggest you make an appointment no matter what services you are looking for. This place is a perfect example of a nail SPA. It is inviting, comfortable, and relaxing. There aren't any kids running around (thank the Lord). And yes I have kids so I can say that lol. There is relaxing music playing in the background. The chairs and stations are modern. They always ask if you want something to drink. And they have wine AND wine glasses...which is important! I love the fact that they are majority appointment only. I know they accept walk-ins if available, but it feels good not having to sit and wait for a chair. Randy is my go to and he always keeps me happy. I tell him I won't give him a hard time but each time I do, don't blame me, I'm a woman. However, he manages to fulfill my requests each time. Shay has been picking out my colors and always has me leaving satisfied. This is my 3rd visit and I won't go anywhere else. Today was my first BAD experience in a nail salon. I am a young lady in the military and came by this establishment. I explained to the nail tech (her name was An or Anna) that I had to be out by a certain time and she agreed that she could complete the task in that time frame. Long story short, time rolls around and I explained that I had to leave and could come back since I had to attend a meeting. She then proceeded to get very heavy handed and started brushing my hands super rough to the point it started to hurt. She tried to convince me to stay but I explained that I had to leave, would pay the full amount and there would be no issue since I was the one that had to leave. She disregarded my wishes & then had the lady sitting next to her stop servicing another client to come and work on my other hand. And what made the situation worse was when I went to grab the money from my blouse... she reached over my hand and almost went in my shirt to get my money herself. I had to tell her to stop! I left feeling violated and will never return to this establishment. The previous comment stating they were aggressive was 100% true and I should have listened before coming here. read more

2/5 stars for the girls upfront answering the phones and appointment process and proximity to my home, only. As for the manicure, I was shuffled between technicians until they found the one person who could do an intermediate ombré. Okay, fine. I felt the tech wasn't that comfortable doing a dip. Which is fine, practice some more, but can I not be the test subject? She was confused by the dip had on, so I explained it will come off the same as she probably does them in foil. Instead, she decides to alternate drilling my nails and an acetone soak bowl. 30 minutes later she can finally start the actual dip. She cut underneath my finger nails because she was trying to clean out the acetone wash with cuticle cutters. The application wasn't spectacular. Maybe because it was French, idk but again can I have someone confidently doing this? A woman with some sort of affiliation to the salon started speaking degrading to the two girls upfront at the counter, it was awkward and I felt bad for them. I spoke several times with the gentleman who can do what I want, on another day. So I keep thinking it will be okay, I'll give them another chance with this gentleman and see how it goes then. An hour later I'm finished and go to pay, planning to give them a second chance, until the total, $42. That's what I would pay for a deluxe pedicure, not some subpar manicure. I had to ask for and rub lotion on my own hands is that not a common thing to finish a manicure? Guess not. I'm not willing to risk another $42 on the chance that I'll get a better manicure. I was really wanting to like the place because it's so close. 1 week post manicure three nails have chipped causing me to cut them and a layer of gel polish has peeled right off the top leaving an off color. I also see that someone has posted the prices, and I haven't been able to come up with how this manicure was $42. read more

Great service. The extra massage time was worth the up charge. I did not miss having the TVs on and left feeling thoroughly relaxed.

The gentleman working here were terribly unpleasant and smug. The young man that did my pedicure was even told he was grumpy by his coworkers and told to smile. When I asked him what was wrong, he said... " it's the job, but ya gotta work, right". He had an attitude the whole time. The man that did my manicure was not much better. When I told the receptionist they were unpleasant and I really did not have a good experience, she simply said that she would tell the manager. I was not offered an apology, a discount, or a comp. I the only reason I give it two stars is beachside it was clean and visually appealing. I won't go back. read more
