Always get the creamy Romano dressing. Trust me on this one! I have been coming to SS since I was in high school when I lived up in flint! So glad there are closer spots by the house. I am a huge fan of the pasta Mezzogiorno so I always get it with sausage. I swear next time I will try something new! My husband could eat a whole loaf of bread with the Romano cheese in oil, no lie! Decor is so cute in here and such good service. Never have had a bad experience and will continue to support our local fave!

This is the best Caesar Saks I've ever had in my life!

This food is absolutely amazing. Fresh, rich, and well seasoned! The leftovers are better than the day of! It's literally minutes away from home and the ambiance reminds me of Italy. I love it here!

Salvatore's is a favorite standard of mine. I love Italian food. I've never left a Salvatore's meal unsatisfied. For $16 I had a plate full of pasta, some good soft white bread, a salad with a simple good vinegar dressing. I'm completely satisfied! Salvatore's is consistently good always!

Delicious dinner at 9 and Gratiot

Favorite! Bought my family dinner at 9 & Gratiot location. Don't forget bruschetta and cannolis they are to die for! Staff is super friendly so please tip if possible, they all split what they earn. #supportlocalbusiness

It's better than the Olive Garden. That's about all to be said for this filled up Italian fast food joint.

We have been eating here since they first opened their doors, literally. The food and service have…read morealways been great. However, our takeout experience on November 14, 2025, was horrible. We ordered two Pasta Frescas, one Pasta del Estate with shrimp, and one Chicken Cacciatore. The portion size of the two Pasta Frescas was embarrassingly small (see photos - I apologize for the messy desk). When I opened the containers and saw the portion size, I called the restaurant to inquire. The young lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude, defensive, and disrespectful. She told me that they now have larger to-go containers, so it just appears that the portion sizes are smaller. In addition, she also stated that the portion sizes are pre-measured. I told her that I have been ordering the Pasta Fresca since the restaurant opened, and this is the smallest portion size I have ever received, regardless of the size of the to-go container. I was very nice to her, despite her rudeness. After about two minutes into the call she said to me, "...we're very busy, and I don't have all day to spend on the phone with you." I then asked if I could speak with a manager, and she said, "...that's not necessary..." I then requested to speak with Armando, then she put me on hold, came back on the phone, and said that I could not speak with Armando, and that the owner would be calling me. It is now December 20, 2025, and I have yet to hear from the owner, or any other representative of the restaurant, for that matter. The Pasta Fresca is priced at $15.95. A pound of dry pasta can be purchased for $1.00. These portions contained about 1/4 pound of pasta. In addition, the vegetables in these dishes barely cost $1.50 each. The margins on these portions is obscene. The least they could do is add a little more pasta, which is dirt cheap. I understand and appreciate that restaurants, like every business, exist to make money. However, restaurants only make money when they have customers. When customers are happy, they keep coming back and spending money. That being said, after eating here since the doors opened, we will not be coming back, and this is so incredibly disappointing and sad. I was so hopeful that the restaurant would have made this right with me, but they failed to do so.

Maybe a little too quick but they keep things running smooth with good grace. Place was full by 5 pm on a Sunday. Plan accordingly. The food is really good, plenty and reasonably priced. Our server came and took our orders pretty quickly. Our drinks came out fast and the food came out warm and delicious. The bread was very soft and still very delicious after all the years, the salad was pretty good not quite as good as I remembered it to be but still good. The steak Gorgonzola Alfredo was good but they could've used larger steak medallions but it was tasty. The chicken Parm is huge way too much food to eat in one sitting but very good.

My text said, my order will be ready at 7:05. That's half hour to wait on 2 tiramisu to go. At 7:10, I have to ask the girl where's my order, and that's when someone check the kitchen. I didn't check out till 7:10. For me, for small order like that and it's to go, I would expect them to grab it and just let the customer go. My opinion. Instead, I have to wait over 40 minutes for it. I'm disappointed at their service. Staff were not friendly at all. Their attitude was like "I don't care, wait"

We were celebrating a birthday, so we decided to pull out all the stops -- and I'm really glad we did. I'll say right up front that the prices are a little higher than what I would normally spend on a meal, but honestly, it was absolutely worth it. They started us off with garlic bread that was incredibly delicious, and from there the experience only got better. Our server, Andrew, was fantastic. He mentioned that they might have been a little short-handed and apologized that he felt he couldn't be as attentive as he normally would be, but honestly, we never would have known. He did an excellent job keeping our water glasses full and making sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. At our table, we ordered the Chicken al Pastaio, Spaghetti Carbonara, Gnocchi Romana, and I had the Chicken Parmigiano. Every dish was excellent. I sampled a few bites from the other plates and genuinely enjoyed all of them. The real highlight for me, though, was the Beggar's Purse appetizer. It was pasta filled with goat cheese and pear, and it was absolutely divine. I can completely understand why they also offer it as a main course because I could have happily eaten an entire plate of it. For dessert, we shared cheesecake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was more traditional than what you'd typically get at places like The Cheesecake Factory, which caught me a little off guard at first, but it was still excellent. The tiramisu was also delicious, and we all got a good laugh when one of our guests accidentally inhaled a little cocoa powder off the top and started coughing and sneezing at the table. It honestly just added to the fun of the evening. At the end of the night, nothing we ordered disappointed, the service was wonderful, and it turned out to be a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll definitely be back.
