After an incredibly long and intense conference hosting a group of North American CEOs, my…read morecolleague and I were thrilled to learn that the group had gifted us spa services as a thank-you. Exactly what we needed. We chose the 80-minute deep tissue massage, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was flawless. Spa manager Jessica greeted us warmly and enthusiastically, immediately setting the tone. We were offered champagne, then asked to complete a brief intake form to note our needs and any areas of concern. From there, we were escorted to the women's locker room, changed into plush robes and slippers, and spent a few relaxing minutes in the sauna. Soon after, our massage therapists arrived, Nelly for me and Jenny for my colleague, and guided us to a beautiful, dimly lit treatment room. We settled onto warmed massage tables and were wrapped in the softest, most luxurious sheets. And then... the real magic began. Nelly was absolutely phenomenal. She worked through my sore, overworked muscles with incredible skill for over an hour. Her hands were both strong and intuitive, her movements gentle and graceful as she transitioned from one area to the next. The pressure was deep and effective, paired with an impressive understanding of anatomy and, honestly, my body in particular. I never wanted it to end. It was exactly what I needed to melt away the stress of the previous week. I left completely obsessed with every aspect of this spa and fully plan to return very soon, this time with my boyfriend. I will absolutely be requesting Nelly again. And I should add, my colleague was equally impressed by Jenny. These women are true artists.

I got a 80 min deep tissue massage No pressure whatsoever…read more Before we stated I told him my shoulders were the worst. But also my arms He only worked on my shoulders for about 15 minutes. I assumed I wasn't relaxed yet and he would finish later. Then he went to my right arm. For less than 10 minutes a asked for more pressure because it was more like a back rub. It was only harder for a few minutes. Then my left arm. Again. Like a back rub. Not a deep tissue. So light I fell asleep. You should not be able to fall asleep during a deep tissue massage. There also shouldn't be a problem with me falling asleep. But. When I complained he kept saying I fell asleep like that was a problem. The table is also extremely narrow. Barely enough room for my arms at my side. Laying on your back trying to hold your arms up is not comfortable When he took the the eye Mask off and told me he was finished. I Burst into tears. I didn't feel much better than when I went in. He tried to justify it by tell me that the rest of my body felt better. Right. Then tried to blame it on me falling asleep. Even though it was after he finished my shoulders. Waste of $240 for a 80 minute Back rub.

Cowshed, as in the shed where you house cows. That's the name of the spa at SoHo House. And, unless…read moreyou're a member or a guest, you won't see the insides of this serene spa. Solution: Book yourself a room at SoHo House, because, friends, its worth the stay. Made entirely of reclaimed barn wood, Cowshed looks like a countryside farmhouse, giving it an anything-but-Miami feel. And it smells divine, too, thanks to the spa's signature candles. Packed with lemongrass and lavender, thankfully, the spa's shop is open to the public so everyone can enjoy the aroma packed into this wax. Inside Cowshed, find a blowout bar, an upstairs giftshop, lounge (complete with front porch swings for lounging), gym, steam room and five treatment rooms. There are also manis and pedi, facials, scalp massages and regular massages. And speaking of massages, this is where the bliss begins. Before your treatment, you'll don a delish robe and your therapist will ask which scented oil you'd like to use for your treatment. I opted for an invigorating scent to kick off my 30-minute massage. Using deep pressure, my therapist worked out all the knots that have taken up permanent residence in my neck and shoulders. When she was finished, I felt renewed and ... just as the oil advised ... energized. And for the first time in a long time, those knots in my neck were at ease. The experience was divine, like a trip to the countryside, right here in Miami Beach. Who knew?

The spa interior is beautiful but somewhat small and awkward. The receptionist was not friendly, but our therapists fantastic. The massage therapists had a bit of an English barrier so we showed them on the website which massage we'd like to purchase. The price was $295. The massage wasn't great, but not awful. The room was very cold. At the end the massage therapist handed me the credit card machine to pay and the total was $385. I asked her why the discrepancy and she said that tax and tip was included in the price. I had always intended on leaving a tip, but it was strange to me that there was also a tax. When we got back to our hotel room, I looked up to see that there is no tax permitted on massage services in Miami. The next day I checked my credit card statement and saw that I was not just charged $385 but I was charged $411!! I called the spa and was told that there was an additional 3% fee for using my credit card. No one told me this when I called to Book the appointment. The manager told me that she would refund me the extra charges. She blamed the new employees on the error... she acknowledged that because I booked over the phone I wasn't subject to the 3% fee stated on their website because nobody informed me when I called the book. I said that I wanted to give a 20% tip on the service that was $295. It's been two weeks and I still have not received the refund on the extra charges and I will be taking this up with my credit card company. If you're thinking about coming here, don't fall for the reviews that tell you this is the best massage place in the area. The massages were very mediocre as was the spa and I won't be returning again. Make sure to check your credit card statement!!
