Stayed here for a quick 2-night get-away. Brought along Jake the dog because he loves road trips. This is a very dog friendly place. There was a basket in our room with a bag of treats, a clean water bowl, and a couple of towels, There was also a big sheet to toss on the bed, because dogs end up on the bed a lot. Great idea! Stayed at the SaltLine Hotel while traveling for work and had a great stay! It is very close to the beach which is a plus, has great amenities like a pool/hot tub and Gym. And my favorite part.... Free chocolate chip cookies at the front desk! The staff was friendly and while the hotel was full due to the conference we were attending, there was always a parking spot and perfect walking distance away from all of the local spots and beach. We booked on Booking.com so booking was simple. Breakfast included. Overall customer service is great. We needed our room sooner and it should've been ready by 4pm however they had it ready by 2pm- which was a big help since I had online class. The front desk has salt water taffy as complimentary and then later on they had fresh baked cookies. Staff are pleasant as well and were able to answer questions we had. We utilized the free bikes which was great. They're free & you just fill out the form and you're on your way. Our room was nice. A few small things: the bottom boards by the deck door had would looked like probably wet mud or dirt there from whenever, there was some food like splatter on the table that has the phone but overall it was nice! I would definitely stay again as it was a clean hotel and it wasn't a ton of traffic. Bonus was parking. The hotel is central to everything so it's walking distance to the stores and the beach. I didn't have breakfast but my partner did and he enjoyed it. The lobby is pretty spacious, has a couch section, then a chair section and then a couple stand tables. Lots of room! The housekeeper stole my brand new sandals after I left a 5$ tip for staying one night. I immediately after check out realized I had left my shoes so I called to alert the front desk. The gentleman told me the room hadn't been entered yet and I was good to come grab them. I was at a coffee shop, so I grabbed my coffee and came back within 15 minutes. By the time I returned the room was being cleaned and my shoes were gone. She said she hadn't seen them. Sure. But I didn't remove them from the room. Double checked my car to be sure and when I came back up to check the room she was gone as well. She was the only other person in there. They did nothing to remedy the situation. Happily employ thieves and defend them instead of making you the customer feel heard or like they are on your side. Don't leave anything in your rooms or it's theirs. read more

The hotel has a parking lot. Free parking unlike areas like downtown Portland. Check-in was easy and they also give you a cookie. We came as part of our anniversary celebration so my husband opted to have the room decorated (for a fee). It was beautiful. The room was a suite with a king bed on one side and sofa(bed) on the other. They have amenities at the hotel such as bikes you can borrow. Their fitness center was unique with wooden equipment even for the weights. What we really wanted to use here was the indoor heated pool for our toddler. Sadly it was so cold we ended up only in the jaccuzi. Not sure if the temperarure wasn't turned up yet as we did go early afternoon but it was disappointing as our toddler loves to be in water but warm water. They also have free breakfast in the morning. A good variety of items and staff was always there checking on things and refilling items. It's a good location with nice staff. read more

Pros: *The front desk reception performed great customer service and provided the information for all accommodations. Was even offered a cookie. *Free parking and the hotel staff provided a parking pass for your vehicle. *Free continental breakfast bar was good especially the coffee with enough tables to sit and eat. *Kids play area. *Love the atmosphere and esthetic of the hotel exterior and interior. *Indoor salt pool and jacuzzi. *Gym. *Elevator. *Clean King bed room with a balcony and bathroom with a mini refrigerator and ac cooler. *Literally within 10 minutes walking distance from the beach and Seaside Carousel on Broadway and the tourist spots. *The city itself was beautiful. Cons: *AC was loud and it appeared to be cracked open and would not close. *Elevator is a bit wonky. *I was hoping for a beach side view, but the view from my room was surreal with the mountains surrounding the city. *I was on the 3rd floor, but during night I could hear loudly people running up and down the stairs with doors slammed and loud chatter. *In my first night there the room next to me had dogs barking constantly which didn't stop until about 10p. I didn't want to be a Karen and complain. Conclusion: Overall, my stay was pretty good I felt welcomed. I felt safe and secure. The breakfast was good. The cleaning crew was great. The room was cozy. I selfishly almost don't want to rate this secret gem! Tl;dr: Pros: staff, decor, pool and hot tub, fire pit, kids play area, free bike rentals, infused water, free breakfast, electric car charging (although it was a battle To get a spot and perhaps they should add two more). Attention to every little detail Cons: (not many) price, "fridge", noise From the moment we checked in I kept getting absolutely shocked at how it never stopped getting better. The best part is the staff. I am a travel bug and I have yet to stay in any accommodation from $ to $$$ that exudes the same customer love. I'm not even sure it's us though since they all kept saying "no problem, this is my home." From getting my little one a smidge of extra milk, dropping everything and rushing around the desk to push the elevator button when my hands were full to walking me around the side of the building so I could use their hose and even testing it to ensure it was functioning properly. EVERY last person was like this and there wasn't one bad apple which was so refreshing. Rooms and hotel: sooooo adorable. I wish I could have the name of at least 1/2 of their decor. But also...towel swans and napkin roses in the room?!? They even fanned the laundry bag, lol! I will say there is a smidge of noise from the hallways and above but it's not enough to impact the stay. The "fridge" isn't really a fridge but a super small cooling box. The rooms are lovely though and despite being in the smallest, it was plenty for my husband and 2-yo. Location: phenomenal! Two blocks from the ocean (close enough for easy access, far enough to avoid the crowds) and one-ish blocks from Broadway. They have free bike rentals which also adds to the ease of location. We arrived on Christmas Eve after a long drive from Portland, and from the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality that made our holiday truly special. The two gentlemen working that evening went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They baked us fresh cookies, had the housekeeper prepare a thoughtful doggy bag for our fur baby, and allowed us to enjoy the pool and hot tub until 11:15 PM (well after the closure..) After hours in the car and a wonderful week of work, that extra relaxation was exactly what we needed. The breakfast spread the next morning was a delightful surprise! There was such a variety of options, from strawberry-battered waffles to breakfast sandwiches. I especially loved making a bagel sandwich with scrambled eggs, salsa, and fresh avocado--it was absolutely delicious. The attention to detail in the breakfast offerings really set the tone for the rest of our stay. Christmas Day was absolutely wonderful; we took the fur baby, Alpine, on a wonderful walk when there was a break in the storm. Once he was tucked into our room, my husband and I went to the arcade right on the main strip in Seaside and they were open! we played for about 2 1/2 hours lost track of the time and ended up going back to our room and winding down before we head out to Finn's Twisted Fish Steakhouse and Finn's Fish House for our Holidays Dinner. Despite being there during a whirlwind holiday monsoon with 75mph gusts that battered the lights around, Seaside and SaltLine's resilience were over the top impressive. While much of the area experienced power outages, ours in our area stayed on (except for two brief moments). Once back home, we were ready to ride out the evening and stay cozy in our room, snacking on cookies and watching Netflix while the storm raged outside. It was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort, and we were so grateful for the hotel's reliability during the storm. What truly stood out was the staff's commitment to meeting every request. Whether it was extra towels or baking a fresh dozen cookies just for our family, they went out of their way to make us feel cared for. Their kindness and efficiency were unmatched, especially given that we stayed over a busy holiday. The hotel's location is another highlight--it's so close to the main Seaside strip! While the weather didn't allow for much walking, we took a quick drive into town and found plenty of shops and restaurants still open, adding to the festive holiday atmosphere. Not ADA complaint! Beware if you have a disability and have a service dog! Sherry does not follow the ADA. She made me disclose my disability in front of everyone at breakfast. Here is a description of what happened: I was at breakfast getting food for myself with my service dog. My service dog was behaving as he should. She came up to me and said there are no dogs allowed in here. I responded with "he is my service dog, not all disabilities are visible." Sherry continues to glare at me, she did not apologize. I begin to shake due to her glaring at me as I was trying to get my food. Everyone started staring at me, since everyone knows I have a disability because Sherry just made me announce it to everyone at breakfast. Sherry should know what guest have service dogs in the hotel. If the dog is not behaving like a service dog she is allowed to ask "is your dog a service animal?". She broke the ADA!!!! I do not feel safe walking through the lobby with a boss that treats disabled people that way during disability pride month. An ADA complaint has been filed against this hotel due to Sherry. I want a refund. I do not feel safe here. Staff tried to get me to check out early instead of asking how they can make it feel safer for a disabled person. read more

I stayed at the Saltline Hotel the last two summers for three nights, including the end of July of this year. Very pleased with the accommodations. I especially want to compliment Callie for helping me with a couple of issues I had with the heating system. Before it was resolved completely, she even brought me some extra blankets although I didn't need them as the issue was solved by her. She not only had the responsibility to check in guests and make reservations and who know what other duties were added to her job, she still took the time to help me and was very friendly and accommodating doing it. Very impressed with this hotel!! Location is absolutely perfect, so close to the beach. The room was spacious, clean and comfy. Very modern which I like. Beds are comfy. Noise lever is decent for a hotel. Staff are friendly! The main attraction was the pool for kids. They couldn't get enough. Love the complimentary cookies at the entrance. We were looking for a hotel that wsa pet friendly, offered EV charges and was affordable. This place checked all the boxes and then some. This was our dog's first hotel stay, and the staff was kind. They gave her many treats, and in our room, there was a pet care basket, with bowls, clean-up bags, dog towel, balls and more. Our room was comfortable, and I appreciated that in the shower they had full size refillable toiletries. My only gripe is that they were placed a little high for us shorties. You could tell the management takes care of their staff. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. Having worked at a front desk in my early years, I never understood why front desk agents had standing desks. It is not healthy to stand in one place for long periods of time. I hope more hotels realize this, and follow their suit. When booking the hotel, it listed it as a 2 star, which is perplexing. I think it is a good solid 3 star. It offered a pool, bocce ball, fresh water and fruit in the lobby, and much more. I have never seen any two star hotels that offer all those amenities. Make sure you book your room directly with the hotel, as that is the only way to get a return guest discount, and they appreciate it. read more

The lobby was not big, but bright with sunlight and clean that made me feel very comfortable with confident to stay. This is a LONG overdue review but since we are returning in a few months, I'm getting excited and remebered that I should write a review! Our family LOVES staying at the SaltLine! We have been traveling to this cute little town, Seaside, OR for the past couple of years for a dance competition that my girls are in, SaltLine is the ONLY hotel I want to stay in. Seaside is a coastal town with a "vintage" charm however, the SaltLine is modern, chic, boutique hotel that feels extremely cozy and homey. When we travel to Seaside, we are there for 8-9 days so SaltLine literally becomes our "home" away from home. The hotel has been recently completely renovated so everything feels new and clean. The lobby is so aesthetic and we definitely used the fireplace area nightly which felt like a cozy living room. Free breakfast was included with our stay and included the usual cereals, fruit, assorted breads and bagels, oatmeal, but also included hot items like scrambled eggs, waffle bar, bacon, sausage and potatoes. We loved not having to think about breakfast during our entire stay. There are two firepits outside that we also used quite often. Kids made s'mores with the dance friends and sometimes it was nice to just get take out and bring it back to the hotel and have dinner around the fire pit. They also have bikes for guests to use for free which you definitely should take advantage of snd ride on the promenade along the beach. The rooms itself are super cute with comfy beds and a balcony. The one minor downside is that storage for clothes is minimal (small drawers, no armoire or closet) but we made it work. If you are staying only for a few nights, it will not be a problem. All staff are super helpful and friendly, but especially Sandra who is from Hawaii! She became our "friend" over our 9 day stay and was always helpful, and gave us the best greetings whenever we entered or left the lobby. If you ever find yourself traveling to Seaside, OR, this hotel is a great option (the only option In my mind). Our family loves it and we look forward to returning each summer! read more

This place is wonderful! Immaculately clean and has a very helpful staff. I had been traveling for weeks hiking up the west coast and was looking for a comfortable and spacious room to post up and this was it. I also was in desperate need a hotel with laundry - their unit was broken, and instead of sending me to a local laundromat they let me do a load for free in their main machine. We arrived at the hotel, checked in, and started to settle into our room. We noticed the deadbolt on the balcony was missing: see photo. We inquired with Clarice, the General Manager. She responded that the door would lock if we pulled up on the door handle. Of course, that did not work because a mechanical deadbolt lock needs to be manually engaged. We told the GM that we did not feel our luggage and belongings were secure. On top of that, we did not feel secure sleeping in an unsecured hotel room. We called Hotels.com, and they tried to cancel the room reservation. But Clarice refused to give us a $302 credit stating that "she could not rent the room that night so we will be charged for the room" I understand not being able to rent the room because THE ROOM IS NOT SECURE TO OUTSIDE INTRUDERS! I booked this through airbnb for my trip to Portland I stopped in seaside which I recommend to anyone visiting Portland Oregon. Staying here was the best choice I wish I stood longer, from the beginning I got there late and they still accommodated to my needs. Chrissy greeted me and was so kind and very informative and she kept saying if I needed anything to please call front desk . Right away I felt at home, traveling solo this is important. The whole facility is clean and the interior decorating is so cute , they have a 24/hr gym and salt water pool close at (10pm) They have free breakfast, waffles , cereal, eggs , sausage ect They have bikes with locks you can take and ride by the beach which is awesome . Wow! This place really feels high class. The rooms are top notch and so is the customer service. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it had 2 balconies, 3 TVs, 2 huge beds in the rooms and a pull out bed in the couch. Only complaint is you can't see the ocean as well as other oceanfront hotels, but the trade off to that is it is in a prime location within walking distance of all the great shops and attractions that seaside has. Such an awesome pet-friendly hotel. As one of Seaside's newest (less than 2 years old), it's stylish and modern with an open reception, lobby and hangout area with plenty of seating and a great continental breakfast. The elevator is slow but that just builds the anticipation to get to your room - and they're great. Tastefully decorated, a modern bathroom, soft linens, plenty of light and an ocean breeze. We sat on our little balcony and soaked up the sun for hours. Also the location is perfect. Saltline is one block from Seaside's quaint af main street and two blocks to the beach. We'll be staying here every time we go back. Pro Tip: Request a 4th floor ocean facing room - that'll put you on the top floor and give you views of the Pacific. read more

This hotel was a memorable one during my PNW roadtrip, I still can't believe that this hotel is technically considered a 2-star hotel with all that it offers. The hotel was quiet, modern, and conveniently located. We checked in pretty late around 10:30 PM and were still met with great customer service. The lobby makes a great first impression when you walk in as it smells nice, reflects the overall decor of the building/rooms, and was very spacious. It felt very welcoming and made me confident that I had chosen the right hotel to stay at. For the rooms, they were spacious and decorated similarly to the overall feel of the hotel. They have comfy robes, fantastic to throw on if you want to step out on the (uncovered) balcony. In room basics, mini fridge, microwave, & single cup (pods) coffee maker (tea good - coffee not so much) Great sheets, & pillows, king bed a little on the firm side & I am fan of firm typically. From check in (thanks Jeremy, you were awesome!) my experience was great. I'd absolutely stay again. *****One of the reviews I read said they didn't have any cable channels? NOT the case. I was really looking forward to staying at a nice new hotel in seaside for our 3 day 2 night stay but I was very disappointed with our experience. Our room had many issues. Our mini fridge was not working and when communicated with the front desk they send someone up who just switched it on and off and said "hm I'm not sure what to do I don't think I can find a new fridge anywhere right now"... wow okay. The bathroom fan is super quiet and we thought it was broken at first. Our room seemed like they just cleaned it kind of rushed since when inspecting it there was hair in the shower and some weird cotton string in the bathroom... to make matters worse the water pressure from the shower was horrible. When getting ready for bed my boyfriend wanted an extra blanket so we decided to take a risk and use a hotel blanket (we usually bring our own) and when we spread it open sand went everywhere! Gross! The walls are also PAPER THIN. We heard everything from the person next door Including their snoring. We heard doors slam all the time and people walking up and down the hallway. We did not sleep good at all. The tv was also advertised on the booking site as being a smart TVs but there was only cable.. that was a let down as we wanted to watch Netflix! When I went to go ask why we didn't have a smart tv they said something about some troubles with the cable installation.. I'm sorry but you should NOT be charging your guests for things and then not even have it. We paid near $450 and our balcony faced the parking lot... the parking was also super tight and hard to park our car. Overall our experience was not good. We debated if we wanted to leave after the first night but decided to push through since it would have cost another $400 to stay at a better hotel with a kitchen! The front desk lady was nice, I believe her name was Aimee but I don't think I will be staying again or recommending anyone does. I wish I could get a refund. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted a night away to celebrate our anniversary and found this hotel on Groupon and were so happy that we did! The front desk staff were very nice and welcoming, and the decor inside was super cute I wanted to take everything home with us! Excellent hotel located right near the water! Everything is brand new, very clean, and modern. The lobby is a welcoming and bright open concept room that looks out onto their giant patio area. The staff is all super friendly and accommodating. They checked us in quickly and were more than willing to give us recommendations of where to go for entertainment and food; asking us our personal preferences rather than giving a generic answer. I was impressed by the room the moment we walked in. The beds were huge, the sliding door let in a perfect amount of natural light, the bathroom had a brand new shower and sink with modern styling, and we had a balcony overlooking the beach with plenty of seating to enjoy the sunset. The lobby patio had to be my favorite part of staying here. They have multiple cushioned areas around fire pits, perfect for relaxing after a long day at the beach. The sound of their fountain is soothing and the pergola protects you from the blazing sun. They also have a small playground with swings and a climbing area for kids, excellent for families staying at the hotel. I truly loved staying here and highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the area! The beach is within walking distance, as are all the shops and restaurants, so you don't need to worry about driving and parking. You also are far enough from the beach to avoid the crowds. After a six-night stay at The SaltLine Hotel, I can say with 100% confidence that this is the best place to lay your head in Seaside! Not only are their rooms modern and luxurious (equipped with your very own robe, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and balcony (!!!)), but they have amazing amenities as well! I personally loved their salt water pool...but their fitness center, fire pit, common area lounge space, and complimentary breakfast were nice touches as well! The SaltLine is conveniently located near the beach, restaurants and shops, and the convention center; and their parking lot is well-lit to ensure you feel safe on your walk back from the day's fun. What I will remember most, however, is the kindness of the staff. It is rare to have a team of people who value communication, customer service and satisfaction, and cleanliness as much as these folks do! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! There location is closer to the beach and all the action in downtown. We had a view of the fireworks from our balcony! We got the 2 suite bedroom and we loved it! Since we were on there end we experienced no noise whatsoever from our neighbors. The rooms are beautiful, the toiletries amazing products and smell so good! Everything is well thought out! Decided to drive to the coast for a night last minute and ended up choosing this hotel. When we arrived the first thing we got was hit in the face with a warm, sweaty, indoor pool smell. Yuck. Like a dirty indoor pool locker room, because they keep their pool door open for some odd reason. The guy at the front desk checking us in was nice. The elevator took forever. Once we got to our room it was chilly in there, so we turned on the heat and left our stuff and went to go grab a bite to eat. Coming back it was dark and time for bed. We showered and used the restroom to pee, and the toilet wouldn't flush. Since we were already settled in and it was night we decided to just deal with it in the morning. Morning came, and I woke up with a headache and nausea. I couldn't understand why, so I went down and got breakfast for us. (My husband, 1 year old and I). I came back up and opened the curtains, (which were closed when we came), and to my delightful surprise, it looks like mold all around the AC/heat unit. Disgusted, we right away packed our things and decided to check out. The toilet still didn't work, and our child was playing in a room with potential mold. If you google "painted over mold" it looks pretty darn close to these photos. I brought this to the attention of the girl checking us out, she was sweet but it was outside of her pay grade to deal with so she called the manager. Shalane? Not sure her name, came out and was alllll ready to be nasty towards us. She stood so close to my face I could smell her breath and she wasn't apologetic, caring, or even the slightest bit concerned. She said "what's the issue" aggressively and then when I told her I think there's mold in the room, she didn't even ask where in the room or anything she said "I can assure you there is no mold". I showed her the photo and she said "no that's from some sawing on the wall, it was done quickly and not painted carefully". lol what? I then said "are you sure? It looks a lot like mold to me, and I woke up not feeling well at all". She then raised her voice and pointed her neon yellow acrylic nails saying "I swear on my daughter's soul, that is not mold". And I said "how would you even know?" And she sat there thinking for a second and said "we had inspections 2 days ago and they looked through everything, the elevators and all too" and it's funny, the girl at the front desk looked up at her quickly, kinda made a face like "oh you're lying". But didn't say anything. Then before I could get a word out, again aggressively she said "I can get someone to come out and show you it's not mold". Ofcourse I'm gonna say no it's fine, I don't want the hassle, as I'm trying to CHECK OUT. she then said "okay so then what do you want from me" ???? You work as the MANAGER and you're so rude? You're the face of the company and you are costing them more business. I told her the toilet didn't work either, and she said "I am NOT going to give you a full refund" I then asked for a partial refund and she said "I can give you credit for next time, or a partial discount" and I said "okay apply the discount to this reservation please" and she said "okay, I will contact Expedia right now and get them to adjust it 20% for you for the broken toilet". 20%. Remember that. My total was $189+taxes $23 total $212. As we drove away I get an email that my receipt is ready from Expedia. This is about 25 min later. There was absolutely no price adjustment. I contacted Expedia and asked them if she ever issued the discount and they said no. I told her they were supposed to adjust and take off $42. (20%). She contacted shalane and after a few minutes told me shalane "agreed" to $30. Sorry what? I should've gotten a FULL refund for a broken toilet and moldy walls, but no. They would rather keep their $212 than to have a returning customer/good review. I then told the Expedia agent it should've been 20% so she had to contact shalane again and told me that she finally agreed to 20%. She TOLD ME 20%. I didn't ask for that. She offered it! And she didn't go through with her word thinking I wouldn't notice. She also thinks I don't know basic math. Well little does she know. I know hundreds of people who visit seaside every summer for a week for a volleyball tournament. I will make sure not a single dollar of theirs goes to the saltline hotel. What a horrible experience! 5 star luxury hotels would give full refunds for much less than broken toilets and moldy walls. If the rumors are true, Hilton should rethink deeply before buying this property. And whoever is reading this considering staying here, please, go literally anywhere else. Also reading shalanes responses to other reviews, she's always in denial that they're at fault for anything and tries to make the customer look stupid. I really, really, really want to like & give this hotel a better rating but I digress and want to give an honest review. The bad: We arrived on a Monday evening and the concierge told us we were the last ones to check in. She was super nice and welcoming. Check-in was quick and she just had to get me to initial some items. We got our room key and our room number. When we got to our room, it was a nightmare. The door was already cracked open and when we entered, the beds & bathroom were a complete disgusting mess. It was almost like it was some sick joke. We immediately went back down to concierge with all of our luggage and notified them of the room not being ready for us. There was a bit of a panic because she wasn't sure if there were any more rooms available because they were pretty much all booked up. Luckily, there were 3 rooms still available. The lady was apologetic and offered us coffee or tea - this was at 9:00pm. Flash forward to check-out, when we checked out at 10:30am, I asked one of the workers if we could have more coffee and they said it was only for breakfast. So, I was confused. Also, due to Covid, the grab & go breakfast was really underwhelming: cheese stick, apples & peanut better, a pastry, hard-boiled eggs. Even somewhere like Embassy Suites (during Covid) has actual frozen breakfast sandwiches you can heat up in the microwave. The good: I am glad that they were able to accommodate us with a clean and bigger room. They didn't charge us extra either. I just wish they would've gone the extra mile and rewarded us with an extra night or credit towards our next stay. The last thing your guests want to see after a long day of traveling is an open door with a messy room. The room & bathroom are chic, very modern and clean looking. They provide high quality shampoo, shower gel, and soap. The location is great and walking distance to almost anything. The concierge and custodians are nice. The bottom line: It's a swanky hotel with a lot of kinks to work out. Yes, Covid plays a part but it's pretty obvious that it's a new hotel needing some basic foundations to keep everyone on the same page. read more
