Came to Cannon Beach after visiting family in oregon during the week with no reservations. We drove around and checked out a few places that were pretty expensive, then found this gem of a hotel. Rooms are a bit old fashioned but so comfortable. Full kitchen with all the pots, pans, plates and silverware you could possibly need. We are on the ground floor with all windows facing the ocean. Ocean FRONT ! nothing between us and the beach but a fantastic patio and grass area where we can let our doggies right out the sliding glass door to do their business. Wi-Fi, TV. kitchen even has full size fridge, stove & microwave. We love love love this place ! We will definitely be back. Very clean, comfortable, affordable, and what a view. Just incredible !

My wife and I stayed here recently (early June) for three nights…read more First, the location is great. On the main drag of S Hemlock, a short walk to a grocery store, Tolovana State Recreation Area, and the beach, as well as a few restaurants. The compound is a series of buildings with rooms that you enter from the outside. We were upstairs with our balcony overlooking the garden, which was nice. The day we checked in, the woman at the front desk was helpful, but for me, with a hearing deficit, she talked fast and I relied on my wife to interpret for me. No big deal, though. They offer cookies individually wrapped, which is a nice touch. In the lobby are tea and coffee. Our room had double queen beds, was clean, and had all the amenities: mini fridge, microwave, and hairdryer. Strangely, we found that our heater was on, and we had to investigate how to turn it off. There is no A/C, at least not that we saw. However, it does not seem to get hot there, so with the window open, not an issue. The bathroom had a small tub/shower but nice fan and great water pressure. The TV worked fine. The first morning, we checked out the complimentary breakfast. You have to walk across Surfcrest St into another compound called Lodges at Cannon Beach and back in the corner is the breakfast room (there is a sign that leads the way). However, we were not impressed. Except for the sausage, biscuits, muffins, and juice, we were not impressed. There were no scrambled eggs that morning, just hard boiled. I'm not a fan of biscuits and gravy. They don't have a waffle maker, so the waffles had been sitting out and, for us, not edible. Ultimately, we skipped the breakfast the next two mornings. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning and tidying up our room each day. We appreciated that. Besides the unimpressive breakfast, I only had one other issue. About dusk the frogs start up in the pond at the center of the garden area where most rooms overlook. They are continuous and loud, so that we had to close the window to be able to sleep. There is a fan in the room, but we like fresh air and were unable to enjoy it. Overall, we were happy with the Inn At Cannon Beach.

This was day 15 of an epic trip throughout the Pacific Northwest. After incredible experiences in…read moreBend and Newport, Oregon, my husband and I were excited to arrive in Cannon Beach, expecting the same warm hospitality we had encountered throughout the state. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at the Inn at Cannon Beach. My husband checked us in around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. We had booked a four-night stay. Although there were no other guests waiting and three employees were behind the front desk, he was greeted with a curt, "How can I help you?" There was no hello, welcome, or smile. The check-in process felt cold and robotic, with none of the warmth we had experienced at every other property on our trip. After settling into our room, we returned a few minutes later to request the complimentary pass to the local gym. A different employee provided the information with little enthusiasm. She mentioned the gym was about a mile away. When I asked whether it was walkable, she replied, "I can do it." I wasn't asking whether someone could walk it--I wanted to know whether it was practical and safe for visitors unfamiliar with the area. We decided to explore on foot. The route followed a busy road with no sidewalks, something that would have been helpful to mention. We also encountered several large elk roaming near the road and decided it was wiser to turn back. My husband asked to speak with a manager and was directed to the front desk supervisor, who was the same employee who had given us the gym information. He explained that, based on our check-in and subsequent interactions, we did not feel welcome and would prefer to leave if we could receive a full refund. She responded with a perfunctory, "I'm sorry you feel that way," agreed to refund our stay, and that was the end of the conversation. There was no attempt to understand our concerns or ask whether anything could be done to improve our experience. We were disappointed that our first impression of Cannon Beach came from a hotel where we felt like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. For a nightly rate of $500+, we hoped for better service. Although we had to scramble to find accommodations during the busy summer season, we ultimately found another hotel where the hospitality matched everything we had come to appreciate throughout Oregon.

As others have said, you're paying for the view. However, personally, I have not felt welcome here,…read moreand I also observe that many of the stated amenities or "perks" are not available, not working, or just not.....it's been death by a thousand cuts for me, and it's on top of the multiple racial micro aggressions I've experienced in this town in less than 24 hours. 1. Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.
