Valentines Day reservations and they definitely made sure you knew there was a 2 hour time limit! I don't think we ever mingled or hung around for longer than needed but I'm guessing there are those who do. Service was excellent, no complaints there. We started with the tuna tartar nachos and calamari. Both was delicious; we actually ordered another calamari to take to our son! We didn't think there were enough choices for entrees so we settle on the sticky short ribs to share. It was delicious but wished there were a few more choices. We also didn't get dessert bc the choices were either a chocolate cheesecake, panna cotta or sorbet. This place is a speak easy style with a dim quiet ambiance. Although the food was delicious, we would only come back if there were more choices overall

Salt is a great spot for a date night or girls' night out. It was packed after work on a Tuesday, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The cocktail-lounge atmosphere feels intimate and stylish, and the location is right near the Rosslyn Metro. Service was a little slow, but it gives you time to chill and enjoy your drink and company. The food was good across the board. The gnocchi was pillowy, rich, and really delicious, with a good portion of pasta and vegetables. The shrimp appetizer was garlicky, buttery, and simple but done really well. The grilled branzino was tasty with crispy skin and a nice sauce, though the portion was a bit on the smaller side. The short rib bolognese was rich, hearty, and definitely shareable between two people. The panna cotta was creamy with a good texture, and the fruit added a bright, refreshing balance.

This bar was hard to find since my Google maps was glitching but it's was worth the hunt. The vibes here are amazing ! The lighting, music, and service was 12/10. Everyone was warm, friendly, and attentive. The drinks were so tasty and unique. And the food 100/10. Yo, the burrata was amazing!! I would definitely return here ASAP.

Speakeasy-esk bar in the basement of Open Road Restaurant in Rosslyn. The space is dark and intimate, with just a few tables and a bar area. The music was a bit loud, but not terrible The food menus is pretty limited as well, though there are lots of drinks options I came here for dinner with my fiance and I really enjoyed my cocktail (a rum based drink in a tiki glass), and entree (short ribs), and we really enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake that we split as well It is a pricey place, but to me it was well worth it

Very pricey, but every single cocktail was DELISH and the food was flavorful! I was so impressed with how much fish was on the nachos, and the sliders were soooo tender

love love LOVE! tucked away in the heart of rosslyn sits salt, a swanky, cozy speakeasy that's perfect for a date night. immediately upon entry we hear familiar R&B hits (which i LOVED) and are greeted by the very kind and helpful wait staff. i ordered the dirty vodka martini, which was perfectly briny and chilled, and the calamari, which was delicious! I can't wait to come back!

I've been here before noted some updates to the menu. I don't recall there being entrées before, but I was very happy with my choice of the filet ! Good cook on the medium and quite filling! The tuna poke nachos were also very tasty and shareable. And I can't recall the exact name, but I got a matcha vodka drink, and I was so enamored with the edible glitter finish! It's very cozy and feels private and secluded! Even being here before once again, it's like finding a secret room. But I like that! The server was on top of it ! Never missed a beat despite being busy, gave great recommendations and was really personable and friendly to deal with! I think it's well priced for the experience

A nice and chill speak easy (ssh). If you're not paying attention you'll miss the spot. Here's a hint, it's not upstairs :). The cocktail list at this place is exquisite. The bartender does a great job with beautifully crafted cocktails and is very knowledgeable. The ambiance of this place is amazing. You feel like you've been teleported to some cool swanky place in New York during prohibition. It's nice. The food was pretty good too. I enjoyed my burger and wings. Great time here.

SALT in Arlington turned out to be the perfect low-key, elevated date night spot. Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you--after entering through a set of glass doors, look for the unmarked wooden door with a doormat. We almost walked into the neighboring American Grill by accident, but once we found SALT, the vibe shifted immediately: moody lighting, a cozy speakeasy feel, and an intimate layout that's ideal for couples or small groups. We dined late on the 4th of July (around 10 p.m.) and were still met with fantastic food and even better service. Cesar was our server and truly made the night memorable--so bubbly, thoughtful, and attentive. I asked for a garlic aioli for my truffle fries, and he brought out a full sampler of house-made sauces: truffle aioli, a honey mustard-style aioli, and ketchup, all plated beautifully. Above and beyond! Food-wise, everything hit the mark. My Wagyu burger was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked medium--definitely lived up to the hype. The truffle fries didn't have a strong truffle flavor, but they were still crisp and satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the short rib, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender, paired with creamy mashed potatoes that balanced it out perfectly. We also tried the calamari, which I personally loved--crispy and topped with sriracha mayo and pickled red onions. It had a bit of sweetness that I enjoyed, though my boyfriend wasn't a fan of that flavor contrast. We both tried cocktails: I had their seasonal matcha drink (matcha-my-freak) which was creamy, citrusy, and refreshing--a surprising but lovely combo of matcha, lavender, and lemon. He opted for a non-alcoholic "you don't fool me" which was tasty and coconut based but a little too spicy for him. The jalapeño definitely brought the heat! The space itself is on the smaller side--probably about 15 tables and a small bar area--so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties, but it's absolutely perfect for a cozy night out. The menu isn't huge, but what they do offer, they do well. It leans more cocktail bar than full-scale restaurant, but we left full and happy. Parking can be tricky (it's Arlington), so plan for a garage if you're driving. But overall, this was one of the best late-night dining experiences I've had in a while, and Cesar's incredible service sealed the deal. SALT is officially on my "would absolutely return" list.

This place is a "hidden" gem. My husband and I came here for date night, and it was an amazing time. The food, ambience, service, and drinks were great. They also had great music playing in the background. Intimate vibe, perfect for dates, birthday, or just to come wind down after work or whatever. We look forward to our next visit here.

If you're looking for a vibrant spot that expertly balances atmosphere with creative cocktails, Salt is it. We decided to pop in on a whim early on a Saturday night, and although the wait was about an hour and fifteen minutes for a table, we were lucky enough to snag a sweet standing spot at the end of the bar with a perfect low counter to nosh on. **Ambiance:** Stepping into Salt feels like entering a cozy hideaway just a few steps off the street. Great mix of people add to the vibe. The volume is just right--not too loud for conversation but buzzing enough. The mixologists here are artisans, blending cocktails with a playful flair and wealth of knowledge that adds to the overall experience. **Food:** As our visit was more about the drinks, we opted for the truffle Parmesan fries to accompany our libations. The menu is cocktail-forward, and we tried selections from their seasonal, classic, and house menus. First up was the **Roberto Roy** ($18.50), a blend of Hornitos Reposado tequila, Laphroaig 10-year single malt scotch, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, winter spice, Angostura orange bitters, and Fee Brothers Aztec chocolate bitters. It sounds complex, but the drink is smooth, an instant favorite. Next, we tried the **Mo Fi-Ya** ($17.50), featuring charred pineapple-infused 400 Conejos Joven mezcal, Cointreau, Chartreuse Green, spiced honey, and fresh lime. The presentation was nothing short of theatrical, complete with flaming sparklers from a splash of cinnamon. This drink is like Christmas in July--refreshing with a hint of holiday cheer! Our final choice was the **Barrel Aged Maple Old Fashioned** ($16.50). Made with Open Road Distilling Co. Eagle Eye rye whiskey, Fee Brothers aromatic bitters, and maple syrup, it's touted as the Best Old Fashioned by Northern Virginia Magazine. However, it was our least favorite due to its heavy viscosity. While some may enjoy its richness, I couldn't help but think it would be amazing drizzled over vanilla ice cream! I couldn't resist ordering a second **Mo Fi-Ya** because it was just that good--just as delightful the second time around! **Service:** The service at Salt was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable and offered great recommendations, managing to stay attentive even during peak hours. In short, Salt is a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts and anyone looking to enjoy a warm, lively atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is worth the wait!

Salt salt salt! Wow honestly if I could give you more stars I would. Every aspect was amazing. Who- Oscar served us and there were two other gentlemen there as well. Of course i forgot their names. So sorry What- I had the whiskey sour which was probably one of the best I've had. I swear I tasted some pepper in there. The drink had all the right elements it was so tasty. My husband had the old fashioned which was nice. He thoroughly enjoyed it. But the food I swear my eyes rolled back for my filet. I was wondering why they didn't actually give me a proper steak knife well duh it was so tender you did not need it. If melt in your mouth had a photo that would be it. I got it cooked to the perfect medium rare . Now those sliders .... I don't even eat blue cheese I normally can't stand it. It was the perfect compliment and again since it was filet man was it tender! Oh oh back to my meal you know how you'd usually cut off the tips of the asparagus because they're hard .... They were NOT. SO TENDER AS WELL. I thought about sneaking into the kitchen and kissing the chef ‍. When- we did an early Saturday meal with no reservation we were able to sit at the bar. Why- It was date night and I thought let's try something ! We will definitely be back. Where- SALT

Went to Salt in Rosslyn for Halloween. Parking is not easy, there is a lot of 15mins spots and a paid garage nearby. The restaurant itself is very hidden (Kinda fun) to find, you have to push the wooden door to enter the restaurant. The bar has dark and moody vibe. good for Halloween. I started with a drink called "Sunset in Bangkok" made with mushroom lemongrass, Belle Isle Moonshine, chili liqueur, curry cordial, coconut water and fresh lime and lemon. I usually prefer sweeter cocktails, but this one blew me away. It is savory but in a very balanced way. it is surprisingly refreshing and complex. For food, I ordered the Wagyu Burger. It is amazing. Juicy beef with truffle, cheese, mushroom and crispy onions. All seasoned well. Overall, great hidden gem in Rosslyn. Will come back for another drink

Does Salt accommodate groups of 15-20?

    Not really - it's a speakeasy so it's a small space.

Nope, salt is a basement bar with speakeasy vibes

    How is parking?

I hate parking in Rosslyn. There's paid street parking but some have 1 hour limit or if you're lucky can grab a spot right on the street of the restaurant that has 3.5 hour max. There's also nearby paid garages. It's close to Rosslyn metro stop… Read more

They have a large beer, wine, and liquor list (although not nearly as many English beers as I expected from a place called Crown & Crow). I won't deny that I wasn't a fan of either of the mixed cocktails I had, with both (including strangely a smoky drink) being too sweet. But the beer was expertly poured and the wine was a very generous serving. The prices are also more than reasonable, which is great for a DC bar. But what really elevates this place is the service. By late night, the place was jam packed. But each and every bartender was extremely friendly and they expertly worked the crowd, getting drinks served quickly (which too few places manage to do) and swiftly clearing off tables of dirty glasses. I also greatly appreciated the free goldfish that they happily dole out to the patrons. The staff made this a really good time.

The bartender in the main room was great, he was very friendly and once he started a tab for me he said I could use the other bar too, I guess he wasn't aware the bartender at that other bar already told me she wouldn't help me. Regardless, the drinks we had were decent. For small bites, they only had gold fish crackers, I wish they would have had more to nosh on while drinking. Overall, not a bad visit.

The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!
