I was strolling in Queen Anne, and I saw Salt and Straw, and I was like, why not? I wanted something a little more popular & local, and honestly, the place is super cute inside--totally aesthetic. I got in line, and the line grew fast, but it wasn't a crazy wait. I think it's just because everyone is taste-testing, which, duh, I did the same. So, I went with the strawberry and coconut water sherbet, and it was insane--so yum. I got one scoop in a waffle cone, and it was perfect. Definitely a 10 out of 10--I loved it!

My family loves ice cream especially when a new Salt & Straw location opens up! Sea Salt w/ Caramel Ribbons is one of our favorites and I immediately fell for the Coffee & Love Nuts. Will be back soon to have this again and earlier in the day, as I was feeling the caffeine in the evening. This new location is easy to get to on the top of Queen Anne and parking is accessible.

Went on Fri night around 9pm, caught the post-dinner crowd with a line out the door but the folks working were very good at getting the line moving quickly. It took about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line. Friendly folks, great flavors. Really enjoyed their apple series- tried the vanilla apple custard tart and sorbet and both were great. If there's no street parking, you can park in the garages for Safeway or Trader Joes.

I love the Honey Lavender and how it is available throughout the season. The staff are energetic and kind. So glad they open in QA!

New location for Salt & Straw! Perfect place for an ice cream shop in the neighborhood! You get a warm welcome from the waffles being freshly made in house! Place is small but inviting. It was pretty pack but it was worth it! All the flavors sound so good! I ended up going for one of their seasonal flavors. Apple cider donuts yum! It's definitely more on the sweeter side but loved the chunks of donuts in it! I love that they change out flavors so every time you go in you can try a new flavors. They also have options for you to purchase cakes for special occasions and pints of ice cream to go! Parking is available all around but if you live in the area it's worth the walk to treat yourself! Highly recommend! Nice way to end your day with your family and friends.

Always love visiting Salt & Straw and I was SO excited to see they opened a new location on Queen Anne!! Great seasonal flavors as always. Big freezer with to-go pints available and other merch for sale. You really can't go wrong here, all the flavors are amazing! I tried the seasonal Apple Cider Donut and (my favorite) the Salted Malted Cookie Dough, which was a great duo. Pro tip: order a single scoop half & half for the perfect amount, and you get to try 2 flavors!

Located north end of QA. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the flavors. Love being able to taste the flavor before purchase.

The best ice cream of all. The season flavors are truly unique. The best thing is that you can try the flavors before making a decision.

The gelato is incredibly creamy, rich, and packed with flavor -- you can truly taste the freshness in every bite. I loved that everything is churned every 20 minutes or less, which gives it such a smooth texture. The menu has a great mix of staple favorites and fun seasonal rotations, so there's always something new to try. The staff was friendly, patient, and happy to let us sample flavors before choosing (honestly, you'll want to try them all). The shop itself is bright, spotless, and super easy to order from, which made the whole experience even better. Portions are the perfect size, prices are reasonable for Pike Place Market, and the quality is absolutely worth it. If you're visiting Pike Place and want a refreshing treat, this place is a must-stop. The Honey Lavender and Ube Coconut were amazing! And the Mango Tajin is not one to be slept on.

As you can see from my review years ago, when my hubs and I came back from a trip to Italy, we wanted to find a gelato shop that had the same quality as the shops in Rome. Not all the gelato and sorbetto we had in Italy was good, some flavors tasted artificial, and during our time there, we learned how to tell the good from the meh. When we returned to Seattle, we were happy to find great-Italy-like gelato at the Bottega Italiana in Green Lake. After that shop closed (still sad about that!) we started going to their other shop by Pike Place Market. For years, this place featured delicious, fresh, quality gelato and sorbetto that tasted like the flavors they were labeled with--so strawberry tasted like eating real strawberries and so on. But on a recent visit, I got a small cup with strawberry and raspberry-dragon fruit and the first flavor I got when I tasted it was sugar. As I ate more of it, it started to remind me of Jolly Rancher candies, not totally, but enough to turn me off. They use just enough fruit to make you believe it's the flavor that it's labeled with, but the amount of sugar and other things added makes their fruit flavors as meh as the not-so-good shops we learned to avoid in Rome. Alas, I think my favorite gelato shop in Seattle has fallen prey to profit over quality. Why, Bottega Italiana, why??? It makes me and my hubs very sad. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the service was friendly and efficient, and my hubs's dairy-based gelato flavors were all right--not great but all right. Over the years, we've tried all the other gelato shops in Seattle and none of them measure up either. I guess it's time we take another trip to Italy.

Both were really good though my marionberry had a lot more taste and wasn't as sweet as the salted caramel. Staff up front were very patient with us when we asked to try several of their flavors at once.

Eventually I walked toward the register and asked if I could get some help. One of the employees seemed annoyed to step away from the conversation. I ordered a sundae and asked for custom flavors: vanilla and salted caramel. What I got looked like chocolate and salted caramel instead. When I mentioned that I had asked for vanilla, she rolled her eyes and went back to chatting while I stood there waiting. Another employee eventually stepped in and remade it, but the sundae was missing the nuts. At that point I didn't feel like asking again, so I just left. The sundae itself was also pretty underwhelming compared with what I remember from when they first opened. Overall, the place feels like it has gone downhill a lot. It makes sense now why it was empty on a warm weekend evening, when this same spot used to have lines out the door.

After learning about Hello Robin some months ago, I decided I had to make my way there one Saturday. A bit of a hike for me, but never too much for a good chocolate chip cookie. In fact, never too much for an average one either - because, let's be honest, even an average chocolate chip cookie is wonderful if you're an office chair. Not peeking the menu before I went, I was pleasantly surprised at the varieties of chocolate chip cookies they had to offer. Being the office chair I am, I swiveled left and right, inspecting the entire display, and ended up getting one of each (ok, that's a lie... I got 4 of each ). While each of them were great, the Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip cookie got me. The whole wheat offered something a bit different - a bit more of a nutty earthiness that you typically get with a brown butter chocolate chip cookie, but also with the pleasant illusion that I was making a healthy choice by going whole wheat. So, if you're an office chair like me roll on over to Hello Robin. You'll be glad you did. (Final note: I really tried to work in a "lumbar" pun, but didn't feel it provided much support to the actual review...)
