We have been coming to this amazing place in a small shopping center in Convedse behind the Walmart. Javier, the owner, cashier, waiter (he does it all!) is a sweet gentleman. He has amazing food and the absolute best Carne Asada tacos I have ever eaten. The blend of flavors burst in your mouth! I love to also sprinkle cheese and sour cream and a dribble of lime juice on my tacos. The cheese that they use is super extra melty and flavorful! I also love getting the huevos rancheros without the ranchero sauce and use the sprinkle cheese or will get queso on top instead. Oh so good!! Their food is fabulous!! We have been coming here for multiple years and can't wait to continue coming for epic foods after races, Saturday brunches or even lunches on occasion. Salsa's has excellent homemade food with warm homemade tortillas. We've been eating here at least 6/7 years and their food is always on point . Any breakfast taco is good . I prefer their menudo as well . If you on FM 78 swing by and grab a taco or two. read more

I went there for breakfast. Their coffee is flavored. I did ask the waitress if that was their regular coffee and she answered yes. Their tacos were ok but we didn't return. Maybe it's changed. I will continue viewing the reviews and who knows we might give it a second chance. read more

If you remember the TV show 'Cheers" you get the environment of Salsas. Everybody knows your name. Javier and Margarita are the owners and cooks, and their son, Javi takes care of everything else. The food is out of this world good. If you dont see what you want on the menu, ask. If you want a variation of something on t he menu, ask. Everyone that works and dines there are super friendly. Wish I had thought to take pictures of my breakfast tacos from here because they were amazing and disappeared quickly! I ordered the bean and cheese and bacon and potato tacos to go. The potatoes in the bacon and potato taco had the right amount of crisp and flavor to support the ample bacon contained in the taco and the beans in the bean and cheese taco were perfectly seasoned. One of the best lunches I've had in a long time. 5/5. Carnitas plate lunch special $6.50 with tea. You can choose tortilla soup (tasty) in lieu of beans; added chunky guacamole for $2.50 (fresh and delicious). This is real deal mexican food. The carnitas were huge, flavorful and greasy in a good way, both white and dark meat pork. I like the shredded version of carnitas over cubed. The tea was a bit strong but good. They took my restaurant com certificate. That new place in Universal City with the $9 lunch specials should do some serious rethinking. A lot of people have been complaining. read more

I ordered here for the first time yesterday Carne guisada tacos, barbarcoa Gordita and nopalitos everything was extremely good. Especially the barbarcoa it's my favorite so far my kiddos loved the guisada. Came here so excited to satisfy my breakfast taco craving while I was in town but left so disappointed! The tortillas taste like they were bought from the grocery store. I ordered 1 potato and egg and 1 bean and cheese. The eggs were cold and the cheese wasn't melted. So both of my tacos were pretty much cold. Service here was slow when there were maybe only 4 parties inside of the restaurant. All in all, I would not recommend coming here. There are much better options. read more

Been getting tacos here for years. In Converse it's the perfect place for cheap Mexican food and good service. It's nothing fancy, and the place itself is pretty low key, kind of run down looking, but I count it as charm. You have to know what you're getting. This is a small taco place for lunch or breakfast that's on the cheap - keep expectations appropriate and you won't be disappointed. For what I expect, it's just right every time. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and after 40 minutes we started to leave then they told us our food was ready, we asked for the food to go an they told us the wait was because they were very busy but we were the only ones there. As often as my waistline will allow, I go to Salsa's Café for the migas plate for breakfast. It may be a strip mall restaurant, but this is a great breakfast at a great price. The huevos ranchero are also delicious. When I happen to want Mexican food for lunch, this is my choice. The owner and the waitresses are all very friendly and service is fast. Nice place. Bigger then expected. Ordered a ham and cheese and carne y sada breakfast taco. It was okay besides the fact that the homemade tortillas were super soft. Causing both my tacos to break. Hopefully out was a one time thing but don't know if I'll go back. read more

Just horrible. The guacamole was CHUNKS of seranos tomatoes onion cilantro and a couple bits of avocado. I ask the waitress if the enchiladas came with traditional gravy and if I could have it with Asada and she said yes. Brought me a bowl of yesterday's microwaved bean juice. Then my plate which was saturated in either dish or lettuce water, came with enchiladas with NO GRAVY! Mind you the rice was the lamest thing I have seen. She offered to go get me some guisada gravy. I visited this place for the first time today and it was the worst plate of Mexican food I've ever had. The rice was yellow, salty and mushy. The enchiladas were hard and the beans were bland. I don't recommend this place. Once I took a look at my to go plate, I knew I had made a mistake. It was awful! read more

We loved it! Five of us ate there for about 21.00 dollars and the service was great! Not a fancy place by any means but it's really good.
