Wow, how can I describe how much this Salsarita's has gone downhill. We used to be regular patrons, but our last two trips have been bad experiences and the new management does not care. First trip, we ordered online and timed it to coincide with other errands. It did not look particularly busy, but we waited 50 minutes for our food to be delivered and the employees coming outside did not care and neither did the manager (assistant manager?) who told us in person orders took precedence (even though we saw only 1/2 dozen in person orders in that time). When we got home, we noticed that they forgot the protein in both tacos. This last time, we decided to go inside and were behind one customer who was in the process of ordering. We were then rudely told to wait when we stepped up to order, and waited at least 10 minutes while they processed online orders. There were 5 or 6 employees in there, none wearing a mask and more than one employee touching their nose, mouth, and face while prepping your food. We should have walked out without completing our order. We also noticed that the queso was yellowish and not more white like before, and that it tasted different. The manager was not there, but when we called and politely expressed our concerns, he (Enrique) basically told us he didn't care if we didn't come back because they stay busy enough, anyway. Burritos, tacos, bowls, tortilla-bowl salads. Price average about $7.00 per average entree' (guacamole is gratis, unlike Chipotle, but is scant, too.). If you'd really like sautéed peppers and onions, add another $1.25-ish. A few items set these guys apart from Chipotle: Fresh sliced jalapeños and fresh chopped cilantro, as welll as "Taco Bell-style ground beef." To that I say, "Yay!" I could create a "Taco Bell Taco supreme," at a better quality! (Can't do that at Chipotle.) Many items are comparable to Chipotle, so you should still have a similar experience. These guys may go a bit lighter on the seasonings (salt), which is actually a BIG plus. Also, they have Romaine lettuce for a salad base. Just ask. (For Taco Bell fans, they also have shredded iceberg lettuce). They offer bottles of Cholula hot sauce and a green hot sauce (can't recall which one). Oh! And if you like "Moe's" you'll like their chips and queso. Over-all, this place is a nice blend of features of various fast food joints. I'd go back. read more

The customer service has always been excellent here but today was outstanding. Joseph has a very outgoing personality and is very customer oriented. Even after he filled our order he later came out on the dining room floor and asked if everything was good and if we needed anything, he also did this with every customer in the dining room. All in all this was by far the best experience we have had in any salsaritas. Probably the best shrimp I've had that I didn't cook myself! read more

My tiny little picky eater loves the food here. My love is directly proportional to the quality and amount of Queso Blanco on my nachos! I like it a LOT! Their house hot sauces are the entire Chalula flavor line. Make it your way so you get the most out of your Mexican food. Disappointing experience unfortunately. I was visiting Hickory with a friend who lives here and she said this was one of her favorite lunch spots. I never say no to quick casual Mexican so we decided to give it a shot. I ordered the 2 taco combo which comes with chips salsa and a drink for just under $7. Also got a side of rice and beans for my little one. While I was ordering and having my tacos assembled I didn't get a very good vibe from the staff. They were short in their questions and responses and not very friendly at all. Judging by how busy they were in here I was expecting the food to be phenomenal. Sadly it wasn't even good! The tacos were the most boring, plain, flavorless taco I've ever had. Taco Tuesday at my house is way better than that! Literally no flavor whatsoever. Finally I went up and asked for a side of sauce and was offered some type of chipotle ranch. At least that gave them a little oomph but even then it wasn't all that great. The only pro is that the pico de Gallo and quest that are offered with the chips were both flavorful and fresh. read more

Food is inexpensive and fresh. It trends like a casual dining place with made to order foods. My only complaint is communication and customer service. Reading the menu it said 2 taco combo 6.99. I asked what was included she showed me. I later asked if guacamole is included in the vegetarian taco. She said "yes". I got to the checkout I found guacamole was not included. I mentioned that I was told it was. Fine I told them take the guacamole off and I paid. What was uncalled for and poor customer service was the manager saying " it's written on the sign ". 1. The sign was one of many that blended in with the multiple other signs. 2. I asked the person serving me this was my first time. 3. That is a very derogatory response "it's on the sign". Honestly, I try to be understanding being in retail and working food before myself. It's hard. Especially when you're busy. But waiting 20 minutes after the pick up time for an online order? Come on. And the people have somewhat of an attitude when you check up on it? Come on people. That's ridiculous. Either get more help or get better structure. I paid $12 for my meal and had wait that long. When they say "Fresh Cantina" they actually mean it. This isn't your everyday greasy, mushy, overly processed Mexican food. Its fast, friendly serivce and everything is made to order in front of your eyes. You control whats put on your food, and how much of it. If you're timid towards spice, you don't have to worry. Almost everything on the menu is very mild unless you make it otherwise yourself. They have some decent daily deals, and kids eat free on Monday's. If you're in the area, and you want something light but satisfying, I highly suggest you stop in at Salsarita's. The pulled pork taco salad is amazing! read more

Oh god this is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I guess I had high expectations coming from NYC and Texas.. not even close to being "authentic" like NY. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed every item I have ate off their menu. I mostly have experienced their catered bar at my place of work when we have meetings. However, I did go to the location once. The food was amazing, as I expected. I liked the subway-style build-this-item-how-you-like-it philosophy. They really need more space though. It was very crowded (of course, the food is great!) which causes the place to be loud. Plenty of parking, but it can be a pain to get back out onto Hwy 127 when you leave (unless you are cutting with traffic). read more

Salsarita's is really good Tex-Mex food similar to Chipotle's, but I like it better. You can get beer and margaritas with your tacos, salad, burritos and other fare. Ingredients are fresh and I was well pleased. Many of the local Mexican restaurants disappoint me because I've had really good Mexican in Texas. Salsarita's to the rescue! read more

I then had food poisoning later that night and I've been laying in bed for 2 full days because i cant stand up without being sick.. I went today and i could hardly understand the ladies putting my nachos together. They were very stingy with the toppings and my nachos weren't even half covered with queso. They hurried me along and were very rude. Not to mention my friend had a hair in hers and when they went to remake it they put even less toppings on it. And when she asked them to put a little more they said we cant do that. She ended up not even eating there and asked for her money back since they didn't want to make it right.
