I haven't been here in a while, and was looking forward to it. Food is always good... but today was disappointing. Between lunch and dinner time, there wasn't a clean booth available. More tables had trays and dishes on them than people. There wasn't many people sitting, a lot of staff around, but no tables getting bused. You can't go wrong with Jason's Deli. Not only do they have a great lineup of sandwiches/subs, but they also have a massive salad bar that can be your meal as well. We visited this Jason's Deli during a recent trip, and for a first time visit, it was up to the same standards as the other Jason's Deli restaurants that we have been to. You order at the counter and pay before sitting down, which ensures that your littles don't change their mind a million times. We got the beefeater with chips plus a one trip salad bar, the kids pizza, and a turkey and cheese sandwich. They used to have turkey and cheese sandwiches on the kids menu, but have removed them, so my littles sandwich was adult-sized and lasted two days. The salad bar is massive, and there's something for everyone on there. We sat in one of the many tables within the restaurant, but there are also booths if that is what you would prefer. The decorations told the history of Jason's Deli and provided for some informational reading as we waited for our food. The beefeater is a massive roast beef sandwich that comes with au jus for dipping - so good! The kids cheese pizza is always just warm enough to eat immediately, but not hot enough that it will burn the roof of your mouth. I didn't realize until after our meal that I actually had a birthday reward for a free dessert, and the staff was kind enough to let me use it after the meal. I chose the strawberry shortcake, and it was pretty tasty. It was big enough to share with my table, although some opted out in lieu of the free ice cream. Horrible! I ordered a $15 pastrami sandwich, and the poor-quality meat was like trying to eat rubber. After a couple bites I threw it in the garbage. Came in here for lunch one afternoon as we were in the area shopping on Saturday. I've been here several times before being from the Midwest and this franchise originating in Texas. It's always good to go to a deli and have a smorgasbord of options to choose from no matter what your taste is. I usually go for the ham muffaletta, but this time the new spicy Sicilian sub caught my eye. This was absolutely amazing and a good size for one person and spicy, but not over the top that makes you miserable eating it. My wife got the bigger better BLT, which is her old standby favorite. It's a great sandwich that can't get any better having bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and fried egg. The all you can eat salad bar is legendary as well if your in the mood for a light meal. Being just off I-40 highway, this place can get packed in a hurry. If you plan on coming during a popular time, plan to get here early as the tons of seating will not last long. First time visit. Very friendly staff, clean and inviting atmosphere. The salad bar was well presented. I ordered a Reuben sandwich to go with chips and a cup of Broccoli cheese soup. (The cost/size difference wasn't logical to go w/ the bowl) The Reuben was well made, heavier on the kraut on some parts, meaning was eating only kraut in a few bites. The generous corned beef was good & plentiful. The soup presented itself as a standard warm up like any other. Can't go wrong with broccoli cheese soup, anytime. The bread was a very soft toast, meaning I live 8 min away and the bottom was somewhat soggy when I started eating it. Not bad, but factual. Pickle wrapped in a plastic bag was odd. Just odd. Lol. Being told tipping is always expected on ToGo's kinda cringe but I caved and tipped. Hopefully they pay them more than minimum wages. Because this reflects on the business rather than the employees. Wts, lunch was good, full and have half a sandwich for later. W/O a drink, it was 20.74 after tax and before tip. With tip it was 23.85. For 1 person and no drink it is much. Awesome salad bar! I really enjoyed everything that I have tried at Jason's deli, they have potatoes loaded with goodies, bowls with quinoa and hummus, great choice in soup and sandwiches, I like the Ruben especially. Always have been greeted with nice service good price and good food with decent portions. Nice sit down area I would like outdoor seating because it's so beautiful outside and the weather is great here, but it's ok. Our family comes here a lot. read more

Manager Cliff is unfriendly and rude- -definitely not keen on customer service or being kind. He confronted several customers over making more than one trip to the all- you- can- eat- salad bar (refer to website and Facebook) and Cliff lied saying that it was just one trip. Salad bar is sub par at best and missing several items. This Jason's Deli has gone down hill. The sandwiches lack flavor and the soup is always lukewarm. I'm done trying with them. I have always loved the Reubens here so knew I had to stop in on a road trip. Unfortunately I locked my keys in my car which I realized after I ate. The incredibly kind staff helped me as I was in tears because I couldn't find a locksmith and my phone was dying. They charged my phone for me and took care of me the entire time I was waiting. We love Jason's Deli, both at home in Arizona and when we travel, and this location didn't disappoint. It's the second time we've stopped in here over the years, and our two Manager's Specials, both with very tasty vegetable soup and half-sandwiches (mine a Beefeater and my wife's a Chicken Panini) were delicious, as usual. Better yet, we had a very kind attendant who chatted with us when she brought our food to the table. The warm food and service were most welcome on a chilly night after a long flight into the Charlotte airport. What Jason's Deli lacks a bit in ambience it more than makes up for with the quality of their food and service. Although you can still get salad here, we're looking forward to the reopening of the salad bar once the coronavirus craziness is over! read more

Not much to say.. dry $11 potato they started charging for the little bread muffins that use to be free off the salad bar. Ice cream was nasty least it's free though. Overall went downhill over the years very dark the bus boy started sweeping at our feet (he said excuse me) we were sitting at a booth eating and talking and he came over and started sweeping under our table and our feet. It was not busy at all maybe had 4 tables in the whole place most of them being a solo person sitting alone. I probably won't be back just wasn't a good experience. We used to love going to Jason's Deli in Hickory. The food and staff were outstanding! Now , under new management, it's dirty the salad bar is always empty , the tables are left needing to be bussed. The manager is always telling across the room at her employees and today when people started complaining about the salad bar being empty again she started filling it with her bare hands! Chaotic, messy and over-capacity. Key words that come to mind about visits to this location. So many tables crammed in, even with only 1/2 full of patrons, tripping over tables and chairs to get seated. Reminds me of current coach levell air travel conditions... Rather 3rd world. The place is not well cleaned. They hand over a tray with a salad bowl, silverware and a napkin, to go serve yourself from the salad bar. The tray had food particles from some other diner! I cringed thinking about how the actual foods were being handled... Surprisingly, the salad bar food items were fresh, but unsure what happened behind the scenes with them. As another recent reviewer (Darrylyn) commented, the Ruben was not hot. The picture shows the cheese didn't even flex and conform to the slightly warm meat. I was totally reminded why 6 months ago, I decided not to hurry back. Don't know how long it will be before returning. read more

I'm a big fan of Jason's Deli. In terms of value, this is a really good deal. Unlimited salad bar + ice cream = a happy ending. I was traveling and stopped at this location, everything checked in well, except after I was done with dinner I was told the ice cream machine was broken. Awe, no ice cream, really? That's when the Spanish speaking lady who was cleaning the salad bar came to the rescue. She apologized for the broken machine, asked if I would take a gourmet cookie in its place. I said sure. Used to love going to jasons deli. Loved the food and the workers were really nice. When I went tonight the supervisor sat down and tried to hide behind the counter (multiple times). Waited for my food for 20 minutes and my sandwich was cold and sitting on the counter for 10! There were employees eating behind the counter where the food is made. When The girl finally handed me the bag and I opened it the dip to my fruit was busted and everywhere all of the bag. Extremely disappointed and irritated as Jason's deli used to be one of my favorite. There's was a lot of horseplay going on and joking around when my food was just sitting there. read more

As always Jason's delivers taste. I love their French onion soup, just wish the cheese would gotten broiled. My husband enjoyed the broccoli cheese soup, which is also always yummy. I called and they were going to credit my account and never did. My soup was cold and they did not include a spoon.
