We look for highly rated restaurants, close to the interstate and which have outdoor seating because we have dogs. Bringing water for our dogs and cups to take our sweet tea with us, our server, Kiersten, was the epitome of friendly southern hospitality. The barbecue was delicious. You could see the smoker on the property. What set this apart was the choice of sides. There were several sides such as green bean casserole and creamed corn that you don't see at other barbecue joints. We will definitely be back on our next trip to NC.

The smoker in the parking lot is how you know you're gonna eat some amazing bbq. We got the cheese curds as our app and they were the best I've ever had like absolutely insanely delicious. It was hard to choose what to get cause everything looked so great. We all really enjoyed our plates. The meat was juicy and flavorful and all the sides were yummy except the cornbread which was really dry. The creamed corn was my favorite! The sauces were right on the table and they had great options. Plenty of seating and a nice ambiance. We were all stuffed and had leftovers to take home. Our server was so kind and very attentive and if we are ever driving through again we would 100% come back. Very impressed!

They used to have turkey and cheese sandwiches on the kids menu, but have removed them, so my littles sandwich was adult-sized and lasted two days. The salad bar is massive, and there's something for everyone on there. We sat in one of the many tables within the restaurant, but there are also booths if that is what you would prefer. The decorations told the history of Jason's Deli and provided for some informational reading as we waited for our food. The beefeater is a massive roast beef sandwich that comes with au jus for dipping - so good! The kids cheese pizza is always just warm enough to eat immediately, but not hot enough that it will burn the roof of your mouth. I didn't realize until after our meal that I actually had a birthday reward for a free dessert, and the staff was kind enough to let me use it after the meal. I chose the strawberry shortcake, and it was pretty tasty. It was big enough to share with my table, although some opted out in lieu of the free ice cream. It was a welcomed stop on our trip, and if we're back in the area, I'm sure we will visit again.
