We ordered on the app for delivery. 1 pizza and 2 subs. It said 1 hour. This was at 7:00pm. At 8:15pm my husband called to make sure they got the order. We were told it was on its way with the driver. Fine, great! 8:45pm.... Still nothing. My husband calls back and after placing him on hold to find out where our food was, they told us they delivered it to the wrong house. They offered to get another one on the way, but after almost 2 hours and it's almost 9pm... we were all tired and starving. So they refunded the money. I make this review because this was a terrible experience. Just because the food is already paid for, doesn't mean you just deliver it and don't have some kind of verification... why wouldn't there be some kind of verification process? I hate to say it, but I don't have faith in this service and I won't be using it anymore. read more

Went during lunchtime.  Place was very clean but not very busy, all employees were very friendly, Food Sanitation score of 100 is a testament to proper management and conscientious employees.  The "special" topping pizza was pretty good but could have used more pizza sauce with a bit more spices.  My cheese steak was very good.   Will not hesitate to revisit. read more

We went there twice in a week and it was terrible both times. We have had wonderful pizza and other items there, but something must be going on there, because we took a few bites - paid the bill and left and will not go back. If I had to guess what was going on, I would say workers are upset so they are taking it out on the customers so it will affect the bottom line. read more

I got pizza from this establishment to celebrate with customers and accomplishment they were able to do. Service was very good, it was delivered on time, everyone loved the pizza and I had a bunch of happy people. The price point on these pizzas was good, as well. If anything, my only complaint was that the difference between a pepperoni topping and a sausage topping was at the pepperoni was about two dollars ($1.99 to be exact), but the sausage topping was about twice the price ($3.99 to be precise). I ended up going with the pepperoni. If the logic is that sausage is more expensive than pepperoni, then toppings like onions should basically be free because they are so inexpensive. All in all, a good place to go (or, as in my case, have delivered). read more

Originally from New England so I grew up having great pizza places both Italian and Greek all over the place so I do know a little about good pizza. Geppetto's is a local establishment that serves up Italian dishes from a menu or a buffet. The food is great from either choice. The buffet is loaded with popular pizza toppings, and it also has a noodle (think spaghetti) buffet - and a nice salad section, too. Geppetto's does a great job keeping the food fresh and hot. The food from the menu is no less as good. It's always served steaming hot with the cheeses flowing from the pizza, calzone, noodles or whatever. The toppings are hot and plentiful...they certainly don't skimp out. And lastly, the service. Excellent service all the way around. Drinks stay full, and table is cleared of dishes and trash. I ordered 4 pizzas from Geppeto's for a small corporate lunch conference. I was certainly impressed with the speed at which these folks delivered. Otherwise, not impressed. It may just be my taste. The cheese wasn't as meaty and delicious per the usual pizza you order from any other pizza place I've visited. It was more like....when you take shredded cheddar cheese and put it on top of something and stick it in the microwave to the point where it's not all the way melted and it's still a little chunky or solid. It was honestly the weirdest thing. The crust was very hard. The size of the Large sized pizza was very small. Not a good experience or a decent first impression. No one in the meeting really enjoyed it. There were two untouched pizzas. A total 4 slices were consumed. Skip this place if you're looking for good pizza. read more

My fiancée and I ordered a calzone and Stromboli to go this past Friday. They were baked in a round aluminum bowl...NOT how a true calazone is baked! It took forever to figure out how to eat they were both overcooked and stuck to the container! It was sooo freaking dry and of course they forgot our sauces. I only ate a couple bites and my fiancée at his cause he was starving and ended up with severe abdominal pain and diarrhea! All for 27.50!! What a waste of our time, money and appetite! Also Online it says it comes with a salad but when asked when we got our food they said effective 3 weeks ago that changed. Well update your online menue! Great service and food! My hubby and I have dined in here and ordered take out several times since first trying this place a few months ago. Out of all the times I've ordered, they only messed up my order one time. I do appreciate the several difference selections of lettuce they have on the salad bar. My hubby and I both prefer the thin crust and typically order it per recommendation of one of the employees with which we had first spoken. I do prefer eating the pizza served here especially compared to the other generic pizza places such as Pizza Hut and Dominoes etc. The dessert selection here is quite large as well -- they have about 8-10 different types of desserts and all the ones I have tried thus far have been delicious. Comparing this place to one of the only other pizza buffets in Hickory, Village Inn, I will say that I prefer the larger selection of options that Geppeto's offers. When we go to Village Inn and purchase the buffet, we always are able to request a pizza to be made. We did ask for the same convenience at Geppeto's and we were told that they're usually not supposed to take requests for the buffet but that they would do it for us this time. Honestly, I would have been quite upset if I had ordered the buffet and not been able to request a specific type of pizza. And I hate to say it but that alone would have caused me to choose the buffet at Village Inn over Geppeto's every single time I would have been faced with the future decision. I'll admit, when Geppeto's got suggested as a site for a family get together in Hickory, NC, I cringed. With plenty of experience eating at subpar pizza buffets, I figured this would be more of the same. And in all truth, it wasn't the greatest pizza I've ever eaten, not even close. But it had a certain small town charm that I enjoyed, plus one of the most innovative pizzas of our time. Geppeto's was very full for the lunch rush when we walked, and I immediately noted that they had a few beers on tap, to include a local Olde Hickory brew. I sampled an assortment of pizzas, noting that the garlic chicken white pizza was above average, although the classic red sauce pepperoni or sausage pizzas were middling at best. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted it. A Frankenstein pizza combining multiple carbs into one delicious wedge of tastiness. None other than the spaghetti and meat sauce pizza. Yes, a classic pizza with Geppeto's classic spaghetti and meat sauce piled on, topped with cheese, which led to a taste sensation I can't begin to describe. I travel all over and most pizzas I get are tasteless and not worth ever getting again. The pizza I received from Geppeto's was a nice surprise. The ingredients tasted fresh, the sauce had a nice flavor and the crust (hand tossed) was cooked perfectly. Not to mention it arrived quickly and hot! (Another part many places fall short on) Melody who answered the phone and delivered the pizza was pleasant in person and on the phone. Always a good place for a pizza buffet. Be sure to ask them to put out a chocolate chip pizza for dessert. They have diced tomatoes on the salad bar which a lot of restaurants don't do for some reason. The owners are very nice and it's a great place to eat locally. I would have given it a 2 or may be 3 if I had gone only by what was offered on the buffet because the pizzas were cold and looked neglected. But when asked, the server informed that we could order any pizza from their menu. Yes, any. Even the speciality pizza for no extra charge. We ordered one (do not remember the name now) and it was SO good!! The dessert Items are decent too and my sweet-tooth had a good time. My wife and I are on vacation from Florida and this evening Italian food was what we wanted. We looked on line for places near us,we wanted a private owned restaurant. Gepetto's popped up. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and seated by Tiffney who would also be our server. My wife had the baked spaghetti with tomato / basil sauce.my wife enjoys pasta and she said that was the best sauce in a restaurant she ever had. She also added the salad bar. I was wanting pizza and had the buffet,l was told they would make a request pizza for buffet,I tried the mushroom/sausage,the pepperoni,and my custom thin crust pepperoni/black olive. I even tried the chocolate chip dessert pizza and the cinnamon sticks. All that I tried were excellent. Server Tiffney was very friendly and social. We had a really nice experience.
