Salsa is just a great little neighborhood restaurant in a strip shopping center that is very convenient to our area. Very consistent with food quality and service is excellent most times. Best fish tacos I've had. More like the fish is stewed in yummy sauce instead of grilled or fried. Brisket tacos are also good but seem more like roast beef rather than brisket, tender and tasty. Highly recommend it! read more

This family owned restaurant is fantastic. Everyone from the owner down to the bussers are extremely friendly and attentive. They have a great slasa and a bean dip; but they also have a sourcream dip and a extra spicy salsa upon request. The brisqitte tacos are our favorite meal. What a great little tex mex place. I had the chimichanga both times I've been and it was great. It arrives piping hot, with fresh looking (and tasting) guacamole and veggies. It was smothered in a queso style sauce, yet somehow stayed crispy for a while. The meat was seasoned nicely on the inside and looked like someone had actually cooked it in a pan instead of microwaving it in a bag. The queso on top of the burrito was just OK, to be honest, but everything else was great. They give out a little bowl of black bean dip (warm) and fresh house made salsa with the chips when you arrive. Head and shoulders above the average "jarred" salsa you get at most chains and restaurants. Very fresh tasting and spicy (though not too much). Service was efficient and attentive. I've been a couple of times, once when it was busy and once when it was very slow. I noticed to difference in service or the food, so they seem to be pretty consistent as well. It's tucked away a bit in a strip mall, but if you can find it (and I think you should) it it much better than a typical tex mex place and you will support local businesses. read more

Salsa Tex Mex is a great corner to stop in for some authentic Tex Mex style cuisine. The friendly, neighborhood environment is comfortable and the owner and wait staff are extremely friendly! I absolutely love this place! I have eaten here more times than I can count and loved every dish I have tried. My favorite is the Pollo Con Crema! The sour cream sauce is amazing! The quesadillas are also a favorite! The portion size is worth the price! I have tried the brisket and chicken and both are amazing! I also like the enchiladas a lot! They are a bit over priced when ordering al a carte. Nachos are delicious too! My first complaint is about the queso. The queso is by far inferior to the rest of the menu, and I am disappointed that it tastes like its just some processed cheese with a few veggies thrown in. I am a huge queso connoisseur and feel like management would do its self a huge favor to bring this dish up to the standards of the rest of the menu! The next complaint is kind of a compliment with a side of frustration with the salsa, which for some reason changed in temp from the first time I ate it. The taste is awesome but the temp makes it so I cannot eat it! I feel like salsa is one dish that just about everyone should be able to enjoy. I have been places that have a couple choices when it comes to salsa and for those of us without a pallet that cant handle anything over mild temp...it would be nice to have that choice. Again, the taste is AWESOME, I just cant enjoy it because its too spicy :( read more

This place is amazing. It's right by my house super convenient, good food, reasonable prices, and good drinks. I suggest the pulled pork quesadillas they are to die for. Their drinks are pretty good depends on the bartender that day. The only real complaint I have is so many people love this place that it's always super crowded and you can hardly get in the door cause there's so many people. They are working on expanding it though so that will be good. read more

The carne asada was a generous rib eye cooked just as we like it. Served with Baracha beans and Mexican rice. The only improvement I'd like to see would be a more generous portion of guacamole. Great, friendly service at 6:00 pm on a Saturday evening. No line when we arrived, but a line had formed before we left. We'll be back. read more

This hands down is my favorite tex mex place! Its better than Mi Cocina and other chain restaurants. I have been there more than 20 times and i have never had a problem..The food portions are great and the taste of the food is amazing! We went there after a day of shopping and couldn't have been more pleased. We ordered the lunch fajitas, and they were excellent. We had enough to make three tortillas each for lunch the next day. Loved the chips and salsa starter and the onions, guacamole, beans, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The only thing missing was a bit of cheddar cheese. Seated, given stale tasteless tortilla chips and tomato want-to-be salsa. Service was terrible (under-staffed?). It took a long time to get our food and when we received it ... cold! We both commented how normally they say, "Careful, hot plate," this waiter did not say that. My daughter and I ordered two different chicken dishes and both had mushy or dry chicken YUCK! Hers oozed out from the burrito and mine stayed in place only because the taco shell was deep fried and the "chicken" was dried up sticking to it. I opened one up to see and it was pretty gross. The rice (like instant rice) and beans are not great. I ended up not eating my dinner and I looked over to her plate and it was a complete mess with mushy chicken running all over the place. She didn't eat all hers either. If that's the kind of food and service you like, this is the place for you. Not worth the price especially when there are so many other restaurants better than this! I was EXTREMELY surprised at this place. It is in a strip mall in the back corner and I would have never noticed it if it weren't for a google search. Not expecting much, we were greeted by one of the owners who was chatty and kept checking up on us through the meal. My wife loves their Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas and I have enjoyed their Flautas and their Brisket Tacos (though a bit greasy). It's nothing that blows your socks off, but for a solid, good Mexican meal, it is worth the trip. Prices are reasonable and the chips and salsa are good. read more

White queso (daily special), guacamole and black bean dip were excellent, and the top shelf margaritas were very good and STRONG -- highly recommended! All of our dinners were great -- Carne Asada, Carne Flameado and Pollo con Hungos. The steak was delicious and tender, and all portions were huge. We all rated this restaurant 9/10. To begin, I was talked out of a lunch spot I originally had my heart set on for today (that Yelp review to come later). Hesitant as I was on the ride over, we all arrived for an unexpected little surprise in North Plano! From the quaint sidewalk landscaping and interior decor to the traditional, yet stellar Tex-Mex lunch menu, the stars were aligned for an auspicious lunch outing with teammates. The black bean dip served with the salsa and chips, the tortilla strips on the charro beans, and the perfect consistency and seasoning of the re-fried beans were all small touches that left an impression. Obviously, attention to detail still matters. I had the chicken lunch fajitas and they were muy tasty. Service was exceptional and the environment was relaxed and friendly. When they first opened, we could go anytime and find a seat. Now, as popularity grows, the restaurant is obviously finding its feet and we go early. I love the fajitas at this place, but the takeout setup is sloppy. The styrofoam take out boxes are not tight so food like the beans and rices usually escapes and gets very messy. I suggest they change the takeout containers to make it more takeout friendly. read more

If you want consistently good Mexican food, you can do no better than Salsa. They put a fabulous bean dip on the table with the chips and salsa. Their quesadillas are as good as any. All of their basic Tex Mex dishes are good and their house specials are also good. Finally, if you enjoy adult beverages, they have full bar and the drinks are priced right. read more

Hard to be disappointed here other than if you sit at the bar to eat, the bartender sometimes gets to yakking w/ staff and it might be a bit before he waits on you...the food is great and a ton of it...difficult to finish even half of it...all in all a good time...good margaritas as well...will be back... read more
