salsa and beer is a valley staple and some of the best sit-down mexican restaurants in la. they have a few locations near north hollywood. the complimentary beans and chips are so good and they have an extensive menu. i recommend trying the enchiladas mexicana with steak! the service is great, everything came out very quickly too. they have a parking lot but also nearby street parking too

There's no way people still like this place. I used to love salsa and beer; I used to brag about their good food, their prices, and the place that introduced henchatas to me. Now, this is no longer the case. I got myself a quesadilla de asada, and it was the saltiest quesadilla I ever had; I had to dip it in so many beans and crema with random salsas from their salsa bar just to eat it. I could only eat maybe 1 slice and a half before calling it quits; it was so bad, and it was 18 bucks to top it off. Dude, the burritos here are about 24 bucks, or 23 if you pay cash. Like, yo, there's no way! I've eaten at finer Mexican restaurants that have cheaper burritos than that. There's no way! To top it off, service was so nonexistent on a slow day too, as I went during lunch around 1:30 pm on a Monday. I was ignored the entire time; I had to flag someone to help me each time. There's no way people find this place good; tequilas on coldwater and Victory is waaaay better. Go there.

This location is the best one out of all of them. It's huge! And it's got lots of character inside. I love their spicy beans the give you with your drink or order, and they just keep them coming. This alone makes me want to come here. The serving sizes are HUGE here. I got the chipotle wet burrito with shrimp this time and it was delicious. Everything here is pretty good to be honest. I love coming here.

Delicious food!! I wish it was closer so I could just stop by whenever I'm craving. Based only off the menu, you'd think it's on the pricey side but wait until you see your plate (or bowl). Portion sizes are HUGE I thought the kids size plate was for me but it wasn't. Also who doesn't love unlimited salsa bar, chips, & beans?! I went overboard on the chips/dip I couldn't finish my food. They have a variety of salsas & spice levels. Only downside was no proper kitchenware besides togo cups to store them, which seemed a bit wasteful but you can just ask for a bowl instead. Food: I also normally don't gravitate towards rice or beans when I eat Mexican food, so I can make more space for the important stuff, but this place has delicious spicy & regular bean to dip w/ your crispy chips while you wait. The steak enchiladas were delicious. Perfectly seasoned. They don't skimp on the meat, which was tender & juicy. Slightly smoked flavor. 8/10. Salsas complimented the flavor profile really well & made it taste less heavy/oily. The nachos were also really good & tasted even delicious as leftovers. Margaritas were cold, yummy, & sweet. Gave a good buzz. The ambiance is very fun. I felt like a little kid immersed in a theme park restaurant. They have enough space for big parties. Free parking. I'd say the biggest issue was service. Getting in touch w/ a server was hard. Almost like they'd drop off the items & go into hiding, but not the biggest deal. You just need to assert yourself. I'd definitely come back when the opportunity presents itself.

I recently tried salsa & beer and everyone is right about this place!! This place is bomb! Their salsa bar is great and the food is even better! For the price it's worth it since the portions are massive!

Enchilada meal and lactate taco wrapped in foil Placed inside the container on top of my meal
Linda M.

My son purchased food to go and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. In addition to ordering and enchilada meal . I ordered a taco separately. What they did is a health hazard and I plan on reporting them . They wrap the taco in foil which was correct and what they did was place the wrapped taco inside the meal. How Nasty is that

I have been to here many times now and I still order the Carne Asada house specialties with enchiladas! It's honestly the best thing ever! The meat quality and quantity is so good and plenty. I was able to eat and still take food to go. My favorite is the chips and spicy bean dip while we wait for our food and their freshly fried chips!

I've been going to Salsa & Beer since 2010, and the food tastes just as amazing as it did back then. It's seriously that good! As I'm writing this, I can't stop thinking about their incredible bean dip and the generous portion sizes of the food. You definitely get your money's worth. I love this place and never get tired of it. Thank you for the awesome service and how quickly the food always arrives. ALWAYS. The chicken veggie plate is my favorite, and they truly have the best bean dip in the Valley!

2 taquitos and 2 enchiladas combo

They give you a cheesy bean dip with chips to start off and the dip was SO good. There's also a salsa bar to get some salsas and additional sauces. I also got the 2 taquitos and 2 enchiladas and the portion was MASSIVE. It comes with rice, bean dip, tomatoes, and guac on top. Everything was just 10/10. I'm glad to have tried this Valley staple

This restaurant was surprisingly really good. I came here on a date, and I was thoroughly impressed. To start, they served chips and salsa, which were hot & fresh. The salsa was good, but a little spicy. For my entree, I ordered the creamy chicken enchiladas and they were fantastic. Very filling. Their margaritas were pretty good too. Not too sweet & not too strong. When I'm in the area, I will return.

Wish I could give this place 5 stars but the waitresses here are not very attentive. They take your order "kind of" because they don't listen to the drink you want. Never ask if you would like water and after they "take" your order they never come back. We would've ordered 3 rounds but never got asked if we wanted another drink. I had to stand up and wave at the waitress to come back. The food was delicious and lots of it! I want to say there is a whole lot of potential here but the waitresses need to go.

Great food. Loved the bean dip they bring out at the beginning. It was very busy on a Tuesday night. The parking attendant will help you find parking so you just have to wait in line until your turn. The server brought everything out that we asked for and refilled drinks. Their white queso is amazing and definitely worth the try. The salsa bar that is serve yourself is also very good. Lots of options and a great variety. But it will be busy so be prepared for that. We had someone put our name down while we waited in line for parking and it worked out perfectly. Definitely recommend.

Pretty sure it's pinto and jalapeños

When is this location open?

Do they serve margaritas on the patio or just beer?

This just goes to show you that the people that visit this establishment respect and care for the games, which is a reflection on the clientele itself. And of course, you're welcome to bring your own game as well. We got there a bit after opening so we were able to get one of the multi seater tables. When we left at 3PM, the place was packed! What I didn't expect was this other bartender, who was on the complete other side of the bar and didn't communicate me with at all, was actually filling my drink. I didn't realize that, because he didn't tell me, so I turned to walk back to my table. This rude bartender thought I was abandoning my drink or something, and used his big boy voice to yell "YOUR DRINK!" so loudly that everyone at the bar stopped to stare at me, and some were laughing. Now I didn't know that intentionally embarrassing your patrons is how you guys do business, but ok, whatever makes you feel important I guess... I never come into a restaurant/bar, especially a small business, expecting anything for free, that isn't my point at all. I do however expect basic manners and respect. Based on our very different experiences recently, there does seem to be a hint of misogyny going on here. This place used to be cool and friendly, and food has always been great, but the men who work here completely ruin it. It's really disappointing.
