I called the company to put in some angle stops (shut off valves) below my sinks and to carefully remove my faucet handles for refinishing. I had a whole discussion with the plumber, Ernesto on should he remove the shower faucets too, but because the refinishing would take a while, and the way shower handles work, I'd have to leave the water to the condo off for weeks while the refinishing was done. So we both agreed not worth it. I am mentioning this because we had a detailed conversation on saving the sink faucets. I even told him I'd wrap them in paper carefully when he was done. I then left him to do his work. I came back in and he was whacking away at the handles. I asked him what he was doing and he said it was the only way to remove them. I asked him if they would then be salvageable and he said no. I asked him in a panic why the heck he didn't run this by me. I would've told him not to remove the faucets if he couldn't get them out and salvage them! What he did next blew my mind. He picked up and left. He didn't reconnect the waterlines. He didn't reconnect the angle stop. He left a mess. I called the company and Melissa was very nice to me and listened to my complaints and sent somebody else out to at least give me water by hooking up the angle stops. He showed up was very angry and did bad work. The angle stops did not hold water. I called the company back and nobody answered. Nobody answered today either, a day later. Now I will be filing complaints with the contractor state licensing board, and anybody else that is relevant. Not only did he destroy my faucets, but he broke my sink as visible in the photos and video. I wouldn't call Sal's plumbing ever if you care about the quality of your home. They clearly do not care about their customers and should be put out of business. read more

We have used Sal's Plumbing on numerous occasions, for both planned and emergency plumbing needs. Their folks are expert professionals that do a great job. It's a relief to know we can always count on Sal's Plumbing to get the job done right. Ernesto was here a while back for an emergency inside-the-wall leak, and he made quick work of finding and repairing a pipe leak that was very difficult to access. This leak could have resulted in major water damage, but that didn't happen thanks to Ernesto. More recently, Joshua and Rudy were here for a planned upgrade on our kitchen plumbing. They opened the walls, removed the old clogged drain lines and replaced them with new ones, including a new clean-out access point. They also fixed a sink drainage issue due to an original bad design, and replaced the garbage disposal. Joshua and Rudy were terrific. They did a great professional job. Nobody wants to wake up to a flooded yard but that's exactly what happened to us. Luckily Sal's Plumbing was only a phone call away and in an hours time, Jesse was at our house ready to address the issue. Even though the yard was soaked, Jesse dug with care with hope of preserving as much of the grass as possible. Really awesome for him to even think of this. He ended up finding a sizable hole in the water line which he fixed in what I consider record time. For the icing on the cake, he replaced all the dirt and grass as best as he could. Super polite and even more importantly is elite at his job and can think critically. Both times he was over there had to be some extra adjustments made... one time it was doing light soldering on the back toilet / valve / pipe... the other time was finding a piece that would fit the misshapen U-trap under my sink and he was able to find one right there in his truck (after some trial and error) to complete the work with a smile on his face and did it well / efficiently, and was just the nicest guy as well. Gino at Sal's plumbing took care of me today. I called at 9:00, he was at my place by 12 and he found and fixed a pin hole leak that had flooded my kitchen and basement by 1:30. It's not just about how quick but also about listening to my concerns and how to tackle the problem. The leak was behind my kitchen wall and we talked through weather to try and find the leak from inside or going from outside. We eventually decided on outside due to how high the the leak might be coming from on the pipe. You see he said if we the leak was lower in the kitchen, then we could get it from inside but if it was higher, then we'd either have to yank out cabinets or break tile or we'd have to go out side anyway....decided that it was better to go from outside and not take a chance at having holes on both side of the wall....and wouldn't you know it...the leak was higher. We had an issue with the shower head in our primary bathroom and needed to order replacement parts before it could be reinstalled. On the day of the installation, our plumber (Jesse) discovered that a part was still missing just as he was getting started. Instead of charging us for the visit, he kindly allowed us to reschedule once the part arrived. When he came back, we ran into additional internal issues with the soldered piping. Despite the complications, Jesse was able to resolve the problem and get everything working properly. He was helpful and professional from start to finish. We've been using Sal's for our plumbing needs for over 16 years now, but today's service from Jesse was truly exceptional. First, Sal's scheduling team was able to provide us with a 2-hour service window only 30 minutes after we called to schedule help repairing a pipe leak in our attic. Jesse arrived less than an hour into the arrival window and was very courteous and knowledgeable. After a brief assessment, he was able to provide us a clear idea of the problem and how to repair the leak with estimate on cost. Had the guys come out early January to replace a bathroom faucet and kitchen faucet and clear my kitchen sink clog. They did a great job but I ended up with some more blockage a few weeks later. Scam? Or epic fail? I called Sal's for what I thought would be a simple job: my kitchen sinks were draining slowly. Not terribly slowly, but if one sink was full and I pulled the plug, water would back up into the other sink while it was draining. I figured the drain needed to be snaked out. They sent two guys over on a Friday morning. They spent two hours monkeying around and making a lot of noise with their rooter, then told me they were unable to clear the drain, which was now completely stopped up. They told me they needed to tear up my drywall on the floor below and replace a pipe. They left me with standing water in both sinks, a kitchen that smelled like a sewer, and an estimate for further work totaling $1200. That afternoon I contacted another plumber, who came by on Monday morning. He had the drain cleared and working like new in 20 minutes. Sure enough, just like I'd expected, it was a simple job. Sal's guys only made things much worse than when they started, and tried to get me to pay for a big, unnecessary repair job. I was needlessly left without the use of my kitchen sinks or dishwasher for the entire weekend. I don't know if they were scamming me, or if they just didn't know what they were doing - but neither of those is a good answer. It's particularly appalling that a South Bay company would do this to a longtime South Bay homeowner. They must not be serious about staying in business. read more
