Purchased a groupon for a gel mani and was perfectly satisfied with the manicure. Have a gotten fancier manis before? Yes. But the nail technician Azien was very sweet. She was super considerate and took her time doing the cleanest job possible. I came in with terrible nails and she did a spectacular job making them look presentable again. We had a comfortable conversation that seemed more genuine and warm than typical "salon chatter". I would definitely visit this place again but only with Azien. :) read more

Nasim did an AMAZING job on my Brazilian Blowout and color correction. My hair from my last colorist made my highlights look more fire orange (I have black hair). Nasim suggested a dark brown color to replace it with and I couldn't be happier. Additionally, the serum from Brazilian Blowout always makes my eyes water. Nasim was so patient with me. She put a fan on my face so the fumes wouldn't bother me. Love my hair! If you are looking for a good deal on Brazilian Blowout check out them on Groupon! Pro Tip: Give them a call before buying the Groupon so they can go ahead and schedule your appointment. *Also got a chance to meet the owner too and she was super sweet as well. This is my new go-to Salon! read more

The salon was clean and the people there were professional. I got a somewhat last minute appointment here with no problem. I had been going to my former hair stylist for about 6 years so this was a new salon and a new stylist for me. The stylist was kind and listened to what I had to say, I thought we were on the same page. I told her how I style my hair normally, what the texture is like, what length I want and even showed some pictures. She seemed very skilled but just kept cutting and cutting. She used a hair straightener on my hair even though I told her how fine and easily damaged my hair was. She then cut off more hair leaving the final just at my shoulders and no layers. I wanted something a little below my shoulder when it was wavy how I usually style it. At checkout the price was higher than they quoted on the phone. Apparently the store prices on how long your hair is and how much you want cut. When I went back to the website it was on there but they should not have given me a price over the phone if that is the case. Communication with customers needs improvement here. The stylist I had was very earnest on giving me information on how to care for my hair but I wish she would have honored what I asked for and left my hair longer. read more

I've been here twice, and used Groupons both times. The first time, in October 2013, I didn't know exactly what kind of haircut I wanted, since I was donating 10 inches and I wasn't sure how much would be left. Mahnaz immediately suggested a bob, and I was a little hesitant at first, since this would be a first for me. I said to go ahead but to not make it too extreme. She did a great job and knew exactly what I wanted even though I didn't have any pictures to show her. As we talked, she also turned out to be one of the most generous and inspiring people I have met. The second time I went (4/15/14), I asked for her again and enjoyed my experience almost just as much. The only downside I would say is that the haircut is normally supposed to be $70, which seems pricey, but what do I know... also, the salon has frequent sales, so call ahead and ask! read more

The customer service here is very welcoming and responsible. They respect their clients' time and the scheduling is done in a very timely manner. I got a Brazilian blowout from Badrie. She's an awesome stylist and really listened to your concerns and your expectations. I really like how she's honest about the outcome of the treatment, and she made sure I knew everything I needed to know before we started doing the hair. She valued my opinion and is very nice and friendly! Would definitely come back in the future! read more

Salon Samixx - Haircut+ Brazilian blowout, wonderfully done by Badrie. - Hair Salons Near Me - Vienna, Virginia

I will miss Salon Etoiles. I have always loved the decor, the music and the ambiance at Salon Etoiles. Seems the new owner is doing everything to drive loyal customers away. My initial experience was listening to loud music that was not to my liking. I will miss the soothing sounds that are much more compatible with my taste. I also understand the Renee Further hair products will no longer be available. Nice champagne glasses to serve ice water are replaced by paper. I suppose the beautiful decor will go next. read more

I did the brazilian blowout yesterday and I loved the place, it's clean and comfy. Bahar did an amazing job, I recommend her for the BB treatment. However, I bought the Groupon coupon for $126, and I didn't understand the concept of adding $50 for each 5" under the shoulder!! They charged me a $100 bucks for 10" and I don't think that my hair was 10"! Lets say it was 5-7". I did two BB in different places and they didn't charge for extra fees. So, what's thepoint of getting a Groupon coupon??! $226 is too much when I can get it for $150 or less at other salons. Everything was GREAT except the extra fee. read more

Nail technician was very inexperienced. Worked at my cuticles for a very long agonizing time and they still looked horrible. Gel polish applied streaky. Really the worst manicure I have ever had. So disappointing. The previous nail technician that worked here was excellent. Not sure what happened to her. Was sorry to see she was not working there. Also found the entire salon rude. Very unfriendly feel. read more

I had a Brazilian Blowout using a Groupon, as well as a cut and blowout, and was really pleased with the results. Badrie explained the process first and was efficient, meticulous and clearly very experienced. I found the atmosphere at the shop very calming and pleasant. I liked the experience and work so much I'm considering driving way out of my way to make this my regular salon. Definitely worth trying. Also free easy parking. read more

I have been coming here for a little over a year now and I have never had a disappointing experience!! I only have come for my eyebrows and never once have I had a bad job, extremely painful or unpleasant time. ASK FOR KAT. She is AMAZING. Kat is very personable, loves to make you feel comfortable and always asks if you are comfortable with threading BEFORE she actually does it. I was pretty nervous the first time I went to get my brows threaded, especially after what I've seen in malls and heard from others- it didn't seem like a very pleasant experience. Until one of my friends brought me in and I watched the entire process on her first. Kat is literally amazing, my brows have never looked so good. She shapes, trims and plucks before any sort of threading is done, then she asks if I am comfortable with threading. She is extremely in tune to her clients and what she is doing, very personable and always remembers what is going on in my life since the last time I saw her. The entire experience is worth while and it's pretty cheap ($15 for threading- CASH ONLY for anything under $20), especially for the great quality! The entire staff is always so nice when I arrive too! Kat will spend a decent amount of time on each brow, unlike nail salons that just apply wax everywhere and rip it all off in under 2 minutes... I have been burned and had skin ripped off too many times to ever to waxing again. Threading is great, very minimal pain- feels like plucking. Skin feels smooth and softer than ever after each visit. I always tip generously because of how great they look and how great Kat is. PLEASE GO! They are amazing and Kat always kills it!! read more

I went for a manicure and pedicure, and the lady working with me was very slow, meticulous, and gentle. She also seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. She had trouble with everything except the massage. It was like she's never done nails before. She had trouble just clipping my nails, many times getting a piece of nail caught in the clippers and trying to pull it off. She filed them very, very slowly, which made me think she would make up for the awkward shape she cut my nails into. Nope. Looking at them now, my toenails literally jagged, and my fingernails range from lopsided rounded-square to lopsided oval. When she started painting them she didn't cover the whole nail with paint, but she managed to get paint all over my cuticles and over the side of the nail. I asked her to be careful and if she could correct mistakes with nail polish remover. She tried, but her efforts really didn't make a difference. In the end, it looked like I let a 6 year old have a field day with my nails, and I removed the polish as soon as I got home. I'll have to wait for them to grow to reshape them. I literally could have done so much better if I stayed home and did them myself. Also: I should have brought my own nail polish. They have a very small selection of Essie pinks and reds, a silver and light blue-grey. Not at all the colors I was looking for. However, as I sat getting my nails done, I watched the hairstylists at work across the salon. They seemed like they were doing a fantastic job. Every one of their clients left with supermodel hair and huge grins. I might come back here to have my hair done, but I will NEVER come back to have my nails done. read more

I would not recommend this place for a mani/pedi experience. I purchased a groupon for myself and made an appointment for myself and my daughter. When I asked for a quote for the child's mani/pedi over the phone, I was told it would be $25, but was overcharged $11 after the service - this was not in addition to paying extra for the nail polish color. Pro: The ladies took their time...over an hour for both of us. My nails were painted nicely and the nail technician quickly fixed the nail on my index finger when I had to use it to take out my debit card. Cons: The nail technicians did not seem very experience and were VERY GENTLE. Hence, I still had cuticles on my nails and my feet did not get a good scrub. Little to no leg/hand massage. We were given 3 selections of nail colors to choose from; the first colors had no extra charge, the second set were $5 each and last set were $10 to use. My daughter and I each picked out a nail polish color from the $5 group. The nail tech who did my nails seemed to be one in charge and she was the one who priced the nail colors for us. AT THE END, she wanted to charge $5 extra separately for using the colors on each manicure and pedicure - so a total of an extra $20 for using those colors (THEY WERE NOT EVEN OPI COLORS) These extra "perks" should have been clarified from the beginning and I felt she was DISHONEST and trying to increase the total price - my gut feeling tells me it was because of the groupon I had used. I will not re-visit this salon. read more

Salon Etoiles is great! I originally booked an appointment with Nasim for a Brazilian blowout with a Groupon, and Salon Etoiles has been my hair salon ever since. My hair has never grown faster or been more healthy. They are professional, clean, friendly and fantastic! read more

I had the Keratin Treatment done by Badrie in April. Badrie was very friendly, efficient, and pleasant during the process. Booking the appointment was relatively easy, but she clearly books out quickly, as I did have to make it several weeks in advance. She definitely took her time, gave me multiple cups of coffee, and was very pleasant. My hair looked absolutely great when she was done with it. Why only 3 stars, you might wonder? Alas, the treatment itself here does not last very long at all. It's the kind where you don't have to wait for several days to wash it (which I didn't know in advance). As soon as I washed my hair it was about 75% back to its old behavior. Within about 6 weeks, 100% back to the usual. And I don't have extremely thick or coarse hair--it's light blonde, relatively fine, but curly and kinda frizzy in the DC summers. I'd love to keep going back to her since it was pleasant, but the treatment just wasn't that effective. Back to where I was before, which lasted for about 5 months. Sorry, Etoiles. read more

I was very disappointed in my visit. I only went in for a trim, which was fine, but the finishing and check out left much to be desired. while the trim was being done the stylist tried to sell me a salon product, which is typical, except instead of really talking it up she actually shoved it at me to read the label myself, which I thought strange and unprofessional. As far as finishing goes, I sat with my hair in rollers under a heater and then the stylist told me to bend down and shake it out. It looked poofy and out of control as I have fairly thick curly/wavy hair. The stylist did not do anything to fix the issue or tame the ridiculous cowlick at my hair line. I was not looking great when I left and had to go home to use a flat iron and hairspray to finish the job before I was comfortable to go out in public. The icing on the cake however was when I went to check out and was informed (for the first time) that my hair which is approximately 2" below my shoulders is subject to a fee for long hair!! 10$ extra to trim hair of an average length for a female so I'm trying to figure out how that makes sense for a salon. Not only was this "policy" not laid out before I got in the chair, but it was also coincidentally mentioned as soon as I declined to buy the product they were pushing. I check out quite a few salons with groupon and this is the first one I would NOT return to. Did not feel they respect the client at all. read more

Mahnaz shampooed, cut, and styled my hair. She did a fantastic job being extra gentle just as I requested with my very fine hair and gave me good suggestions on how to care for it. I could tell this place was high end. Quiet, relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. The salon was basically empty aside from one other customer who also had a terrific coupon deal like me. My hair cut came out decent but I doubt I'd come back due to the steep regular hair cut prices here: $70+ read more

I can only speak to the great talent of Badrie, but she is fantastic! I was also a client of hers from DC and am thrilled she opened her own salon. Even though I have to drive out to Vienna to see her now, it is surprisingly less stress and more convenient than trying to go downtown or to Bethesda, in part because there is free parking right next door to the salon! The rest of the staff was very friendly as well. This is also a nice change from the DC salon where she used to work. Although I am NOT familiar with the experience or abilities of anyone else who works here, Badrie is a good listener and will talk about what you want with your hair before she ever picks up the scissors. NOTE: Like many places, you can pay for services with a credit card, but gratuity cannot be added to the card. read more

After a good first experience I went back and was very disappointed. The woman who did my hair spent more time on her own. She took less than 10 minutes to cut my hair and then sat me under a dryer for almost 30 minutes while I watched her style her own hair. read more

Update: I received a call from the salon, offering to stay late tonight to do my hair. I was impressed they were willing to call me about this and apologize. Impressive customer service from the owner. One star for the lack of communication. I purchased a Groupon for the Brazilian Blowout. I called and made an appointment. I then took the day off of work and drove from DC to Vienna (40 minutes one way with traffic). When I arrived, I was told the stylist was sick and apparently they called my cell phone and left a voice mail (I guess they called the wrong person). I got a lukewarm "sorry" and then was told I could reschedule. As I was annoyed and walking back to my car, I decided I won't be cashing in my Groupon or going back. Thumbs down. read more

Sam's work is amazing! Im really happy with my highlights and cut! Highly recommended.

I purchased a Brazilian blowout through Groupon for $126 and had it done by Bahar in just under 2 hours. The stylist was very polite and friendly. I enjoyed the salon atmosphere with French music playing and my simple ice water served in a champagne flute. I recommend this salon and hope to return here. Note: It's only been a day since my blowout so I'll update my review later to include how long the results lasted. read more

I tried this salon because of a Groupon. I had a great experience! It is in a great location in the cute center of Vienna. Badrie cut my hair and she was so nice and personable. I showed her a picture of the cut I liked, and she duplicated that wonderfully! She worked very quickly and even brought me a delicious cup of coffee while she worked. I was very pleased with the results. I'm not sure I could return for a $70 haircut, but unfortunately, this is not a bad price for the Northern Virginia area. Definitely worth the $35 Groupon, though! read more

I went to salon Etoiles for a mani-pedi with a Groupon, and while I have never left bad reviews for anyone before, I thought I would this time, as I felt I really got ripped off by paying to get a mani/pedi at this place. The pros: The place was clean, the staff was nice, parking was easy. I was greeted with a smile, and was offered a drink, and the manicurist engaged in just the right amount of talk and seemed nice as well. The cons: The person that gave me the manicure/pedicure (I believe there is only one), just didn't know what she was doing: She was filing my nails and looking elsewhere, not even noticing the nail file was on my toe, rather than on my nail. She did a really bad job at cleaning of the nail polish on the edges -I asked her three times to clean them and ended up just giving up and hoping to get out of there quickly . My cuticles were not taken care of properly either -I came home back to my cuticle nippers and went over all on my fingers again. The nail polish application was bad, too. And the leg-foot and hand "massage " was performed with barely any lotion so it is far from being pleasant. I really wanted to like this place as I live nearby and like to get a mani/pedi on a somewhat regular basis to make sure my cuticles look nice, but unfortunately I would just not even think about going back to this salon. I honestly think I can do a better job myself! Also, while most nail salons charge around $35 for a mani/pedi, this place charges $60 (like most full spas), so I was really expecting to get good experience. I am rarely a fan of the quick nail salons but I have to say most of those do a much better job than this place. Bottom line: I would NOT go back to this place as I think it was a waist of time and money. read more

I'm really disappointed at Salon Etoiles, my hair color is now way worse than how it was when I came into the salon in the first place. If Salon Etoiles would like to help they can do so by refunding me $85 over PayPal. read more

Badrie is *THE BEST*THE BEST*THE BEST* You will ever find!! * AWESOMELY skilled at what she does * Honest * Dedicated to her clients * Special skills include - BKTs - Japanese Straightening... you don't want to trust just anyone with those * Ample free parking in the lot * Cuts all kinds of hair * Wonderfully funny, pleasant and nice, to boot!! Really, words cannot say enough how incredible Badrie is as a hair stylist. Since my hair changed when I was a pre-teen (from pin straight to wavy and a variety of textures), I never knew I had such beautiful hair, until Badrie worked her magic. I had a lifetime of bad haircuts, until I met Badrie. I have thick, long hair... and I like my hair long. In some parts it is wiry, others wavy, others straight and fine (think South American + Jewish = quite a head of hair!). For years, stylists always just wanted to cut it short, but I wanted it long. I now think it's bc they weren't skilled. Not Badrie. I met Badrie 6 years ago at the salon where she used to work in D.C. (Andre Chreky Salon... you'll see other ppl's rave reviews of Badrieunder that entry, too). At first, she was completely supportive and patient of my hair wishes (i.e., just keep it long!), but she also gave me tons of tips. Eventually, I saw my hair in a pic and thought, wow, I need something more flattering. I literally went to her one day and said, just fix it. She gave me the most amazing layers and an unbelievable cut. I literally put my head of hair into her hands, blindly. I came out looking amazing and EVERYONE complimented me. It totally upped my look by light years, and I've felt so good about my hair, since. I understand that Badrie owns her own salon in another state, as well, and you can just tell, because she is SO knowledgeable about all kinds of beauty matters and SO professional. Seriously, I cannot recommend her enough. I have not yet tried any of the other services at the salon, as she just became the manager of this one. I used to see her in D.C. (closer to home), but I now drive to Vienna, VA to get cuts. She is irreplaceable for me. As long as she is around, I will never have anyone else but Badrie cut my hair. read more

I don't live in the area but I still come to Salon Etoiles to see Matin. She's simply a hair genius whose been coloring and cutting my hair for about 2.5 years. The area is adorable as well and the salon as a whole is great. I can't say enough great things!! read more

I went in for a haircut after getting the yelp coupon and had a wonderful experience! The owner of this place has gone to great lengths to create a classy, elegant, European atmosphere that feels like you've skipped over the pond. I'm actually looking for a new salon at which to be a regular and I think this is going to be it! read more

Had a wonderful facial! The aesthetician was polite, detail oriented and paid close attention to my concerns.

One of my favorite salon experiences to date. New to the area, I was late and Mahmaz couldn't be more gracious and welcoming. In response to my review: Rinsing the treatment out of your hair is not a "suggestion"- it is a requirement. The fact that you are implying that it is optional is proving my point that this salon is not properly trained on how to do Brazilian blowouts. Every other salon I have been to has followed all the steps properly, and I have never experienced anything like this before. Like you said-you were not there, so how can you tell me what she said to me? As soon as her next client walked in-she said she was done with my hair, while the treatment was still in my hair. I had to beg her to rinse the chemicals out, otherwise she would have not done so. She told me "all her clients leave after she straightens the treatment in their hair and I am the only one who is making a special request". To suggest I should go do this at home by myself is shocking and unprofessional-don't advertise a Brazilian blowout if you are not going to complete all the steps properly. And I'm not sure why you are saying I didn't pay (even though I wish I didn't)-I paid for the full groupon and the additional charge which I have receipts for, that I can attach to this review if needed. If you want your clients to have an enjoyable experience, you should hire experienced stylists, or have them trained properly, and never attack or embarrass the customer. read more

I had the most amazing experience here. I'm pretty sure it was Badri who cut and colored my hair. She mentioned that she runs the salon with her partner and I noticed she uses the first chair in the salon. Badri took the time to look through my hair, ask what I wanted, and make suggestions that were best for me. She took her time throughout the entire color and cut and was very friendly. During the cut and blowdry she stopped to check her work multiple times and mentioned that I should come back at any time if I wasn't happy with her work. The salon was clean, trendy, and had a professional yet friendly atmosphere. I love the color and cut. I will be returning to try the Brazilian Blowout later this spring. Thank you! read more

Honestly any of the women who work in this salon are more than capable of giving you the best color or cut you've ever received in your life. Badrie is an artist and the owner so if you're looking for absolute expert technique I'd highly recommend her. This salon has the best prices for such professional work. I'm thrilled that it's located so close to me. From nails, to laser hair removal to any hair treatment you could dream of this is the place to go. I'm usually hesitant to go to new salons since I'm super picky and I have not been satisfied by the services provided by them, but this salon made me change my mind. I've now gone there several times. It has a very relaxed atmosphere, and the staff is so friendly and courteous. They anticipate your needs; taking time to hang up your coat and offering you something to drink when you arrive. Nasim is amazing. She always does a fabulous job coloring my hair, in addition to the haircut. I have received many compliments every time. I've always been unhappy with the service of other salons since nobody was patient enough to do my eyebrows with the tweezers precisely and threading was their alternative!! My eyebrows have always gotten so thin that I preferred to do them myself for several years until I had the chance to find Nasim who spends adequate time to make them perfect! If you are looking for someone for coloring, haircut, and doing eyebrows, I highly recommend Nasim! I'm lucky to have found one person that takes care of all three! read more
