I have been visiting every 6 weeks since moving here and am really happy with all of my services. I highly recommend Kailah for fun colors. She has done pink, plum, and consistently covers my roots each time. I also got a full hair cut with long face framing layers and have been really happy with my hair. The salon itself is so comfortable. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the door and the receptionist is so nice. He is on it! I can't remember his name but he gets you quickly checked in and rebooked each time. They have complimentary coffee, drinks, snacks, etc. and comfortable chairs to wait in. I went to Salon Rose several years ago to get a cut after brushing out my dreadlocks. The atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming, plants everywhere. My stylist explained that because my hair was so uneven from the brushing out, she couldn't make it even without cutting it really short, so we agreed to leave a few places shorter than others. Kayla cut my 6 year old daughters hair; and it is truly the best hair cut she's ever had; and likely I've had haha. My daughter experimented with cutting parts of her hair; and she showed up with a pretty big task to fix. I've been a client since October 2023 and got a color correction for long black roots and dyed the roots blonde and left the rest of my hair red. It looked great but I had issues with banding when getting root touch ups but was able to come in and get it corrected free of charge by the stylist. I had an appointment for 12:15 PM on March 29th and arrived at 12:27 PM. When I sat down I was informed by the stylist that she "felt bad" about me having to come in to get the banding issue corrected previously so she needed to reschedule my appointment so as not to "compromise the integrity" of her work. I have a vacation for April 2nd and my hair has 7 weeks of root growth so now I need to find a stylist who likely won't be able to see me before I leave and may be booked weeks in advance. I felt really embarrassed because even though I was 12 minutes late, my appointment was cancelled and it was presented as if it were for my benefit even though I was looking forward to this all week and was going to leave a bigger tip to make up for the 12 minutes. For background, my appointment was at 2:30 PM and I moved it up in time the day prior on March 28th because the receptionist said the stylist was free the whole morning before my original 2:30 PM appointment. I'm going to drive 45 minutes back to Round Rock (my stylist knows I have a long drive to and from the salon) super embarrassed and will try to find a new colorist who isn't booked weeks in advance. My vacation hair will not have refreshed roots and a new moneypiece like I was looking forward to Positives are that the ambiance is nice and that there is free wine offered. If it weren't for this occurrence I would continue to come back. read more

I've been going to Madelon for years and was so excited for her when she opened Salon Rose! I decided after years of home bleaching and dying, I wanted to grow my hair out, and the only way to do it was go to a stylist. I am SO HAPPY Madelon was recommended to me. She is a hair wizard and artist. She's helped my hair grow around 4 or so inches since I started going to her, and it feels healthy, and doesn't have that crunchy feeling (even though I get it bleached still). At first I started by bringing her pictures, but now I just let her create her art and it always exceeds expectations. She also cuts my hair so that it really makes the color WOW!!! We have tons of fun at my appointments even if they are all day! Madelon is the best stylist I've ever had. She makes me feel like an old friend, and I enjoy each appointment. The salon is also so cute and comfy. Tons of waiting room, and a little nook that makes me want to snuggle up and read a book. The lighting is flattering, so you don't have to sit and stare at dark circles on your face during your appointment (I've always hated looking at myself in the mirror in other salons). The decor is great and there are a lot of lush plants. They also have Waterloo, beer and wine to enjoy. I seriously recommend this salon to every single person I meet that asks for a suggestion. I came to Salon Rosé after seeing Elise at another salon for a few years. I love this place. It doesn't feel like you're average salon, because these stylists are all so unique and creative, and the vibe in there is just really accepting and respectful and chill and FUN, without being over the top. She is so talented when it comes to both color and styling. I had originally only seen her for styling and extensions for the first few years, which was always stellar. It's pretty rare to know what you're expecting every time you sit in the chair, so I already knew all of this time that she was my girl. Earlier this year I just felt bored with my look. It had been the same for years and I needed something that was edgy and fun. I was nervous about trying peek-a-boo blonde, or really anything new. Seeing Elise's IG (@blonde.and.boujeee) cemented my need for something new. She was a wizard with her other clients, so I just said alright, girl, let's do it. What happened next was literally life-changing. She gave me a hairstyle that I literally never want to get rid of. They destroyed my hair. I went in to get an ombre with Tara. During the process, she became concerned with what was happening with my hair and the foils. So, she quickly took them off and rinsed my hair off. She told me my hair wasn't damaged and it was just that it wasn't going to be as bright as I wanted. That was, unfortunately, a lie. My hair was so damaged that chunks fell out the next day. When it happened, Tara and another hair stylist explained that sometimes their chemicals react like that with hair that had been dyed previously. They also mentioned it'd happened plenty of times before and that there was a simple wash which could have prevented such a reaction. However, they'd never asked me any questions about my hair history before the procedure (and I'd never had my hair "react" with salon products). They even seemed to imply it was my fault that my hair must have had something on it. The funny thing was, the last time I put any dye on my hair was five months ago, and it was a one week temporary dye (they said this was definitely the culprit). I have shampooed and conditioned many times since then. I didn't realize how bad my hair was damaged while I was at the salon, as it was loaded with gels, toner, and then blow dried. It was somewhat puffy and frizzy after being blow dried, but I never blow dry my hair, so I figured that was simply the reason why. The next day, with all the heavy gels and creams washed out, my hair was a mess. I've had to get a different hair appointment with a different salon to cut off about half of my hair, because of how severely it was burned. To make matters worse, this salon has dodged my calls and emails. I've been told I need to speak to the manager, but the manager seems to be ignoring me. I'm extremely frustrated considering how expensive this hair treatment was and how terribly it was done. I do not recommend this salon. There are so many other salons out there that will not wreck your hair and then ignore you. read more

Chelsea is an amazing artist I will follow regardless of where she goes in Austin, and what a cute location she's picked in Salon Rose! Even though i live pretty far north (where burnet meets 183), I have absolutely no problem following this HAIR QUEEN! She's taken me from blond to pink to purple to blue to literally wherever else i want to go, without sacrificing the condition of my hair in the process. She is honest and upfront with my questions, which I super appreciate considering some salons I've been to will do whatever you want, hair be damned, as long as you're willing to pay the price. If you want someone who really cares, definitely tey to get on Chelsea's books! The space itself is ADORABLE! I used to see Madelon at Urban Betty years ago. As eventually I couldn't afford to see her anymore, I tried other colorists and stylists but never found anyone close to the color genius that is Madelon. I recently tried out her new Salon and I'm so impressed by the location, ambiance, spaciousness...everything. There are plants everywhere and cute furniture with vintage pictures on the wall. I felt very relaxed in the welcoming environment. Madelon was so sweet when she greeted me, it was like reuniting with an old friend! She did a wonderful job on my (difficult to lift) hair-she nailed the perfect ashy blonde I was looking for. No brassiness st all. She recommended great hair products that smell awesome from ethical brands. She also hasn't raised her prices since I saw her at UB years ago so totally worth it.
