Not sure what the deal is with the Yelper who said "never go to Joanne" but I ONLY go to Joan and HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED! I totally trust her with my hair and she's never steered me wrong. If she thinks a certain color or cut won't compliment you, listen to her, she's been doing this a long time! It helps to have an idea of what you want, this will help you during your consultation. I am constantly complimented on my cut and color. Never had to wait more than 10 minutes, always greeted very nicely by the front desk. Joan's blow drys are amazing, last me for days. Once, i didnt have time for a cut and color so she cut my hair and we made an appointment for the following week for the color. She did SUCH a phenominal job when she washed, conditioned and blow dried my hair that when i went back for the color i was still on her blow dry and she thought i had styled it myself cause it still looked fresh! She often takes me when I call last minute, love that. You can go to a place that costs less I'm sure but you get what you pay for. So run, don't walk to make an appointment with Joan, you won't regret it. read more

I am so appreciative that there's a place like Relini that I can go to and not have to drive out into West LA or Long Beach. Rene cuts my hair and is quite talented at what he does. He just knows exactly what you want and doesn't try to force anything you don't want done to your hair. Of course, being the busy man he is, there sometimes is a bit of a wait, but that's common among service professionals that are in high demand. Long story short, I trust him with my hair (I'm very picky) and have referred him to my friends. I followed from the Carlton hair salon located in Cerritos mall, and she has done only wonders to my hair. I've gone to platinum blond, back to my brunette self without any damages. She's a reliable source, and y'all should go check her out. Since I last wrote my review, I began getting my hair done with Mario. And I do not regret that decision. I've always wanted blond/ombré hair. When I went with him my hair was a mess. The previous lady messed up my hair so bad so Mario had something hard to work with. Since day one he's always taken care of my hair. Hes completely honest when it comes down to what I want to get and if he feels that your hair can't take it, he won't do it. He's more interested in getting a good result with healthy hair than getting your money. I trust him with my hair. He will get you what you want, but you just have to be patient because it's a long process to go blonde. I definitely recommend him. He's the nicest and funniest person and will make you feel super comfortable. My best friend, aunt and little cousin come to him now. read more

I have never really gotten my hair colored at a salon before since I'm used to doing it at home. It was New Years ever so I decided to go for it new year new look. I yelped local salons in my area and called around to see who had openings. I called made my appointment and I have to say Rocio was extremely nice and I feel bad leaving this review but holy shit she has heavy hands. I know my hair gets tangled but fuuuck this lady pulled my hair so fucking bad. It wasn't just when she was brushing my hair she was rough while she was washing my hair. I came in hoping for a simple balayage. I'm brunette so I was hoping for soft cinamon highlights. My hair looks nothing like the pictures I showed her I was so upset and I was so anxious to get the fuck out that salon I paid and didn't even check my hair right. I get home and my hair is different colors. The highlights are a mess they're brassy tines, orange tones, and blonde streaks. I started to look at IG and it seems she's good at blonde looks she might of had an off day nothing against her but never again will I come to this salon. I paid $155 to get patchy ass hair and feel like I got into a hair pulling cat fight. Never again. I had to go to a different hair salon to get it fixed. I'm out $300. Lesson learned. read more

Going to Relini is one of my favorite treats to myself. Lindsay gives the best haircuts! Most important to me, she never takes too much off for "just a trim." She listens and works with you for a perfect cut every time. She has saved me from many bad hair ideas with her expert opinion. I came here based on Yelp reviews that Stephanie was great, but I don't know if she was having a bad day that day or if she was just rushing to get out of there. Supposedly, they close at 7, but the day I went, they said it gets slow so they were rushing to get out by 6. Good to know? Stephanie didn't really explain what she was doing and I felt like she was just doing her own thing and "testing out colors" in my hair that I did not want, and without consulting with me. I went to dye my hair, but as she was bleaching, she just left without saying anything or keeping me updated. She was also pulling and tugging on my hair in a rough way and getting annoyed by the music choice in the salon.. maybe she was taking it out on me? Idk. I would ask her for suggestions for what I should use to take care of my newly dyed hair while she was styling it, but she genuinely seemed annoyed because it was getting closer to 6 and I'm guessing she just wanted to get out of there. Such a disappointing experience, especially since it's not exactly cheap. I had such high hopes! Never again. :( read more
