I found this salon on a total fluke. My youngest daughter had a light brown balayage and when the color started to fade, she dyed it a more vibrant pinkish red until that started to fade as well. So, she decided that she wanted a light blonde balayage. However, every salon we went to told her that with her red dye, it would be pretty difficult to achieve that blonde in one sitting because of that red dye and it was going to be crazy expensive. So, we came to check out Jessica and I'm so glad we did. While she wasn't able to get it super light, it was still like a honey blonde which my daughter loved. About a month later, my older daughter decided to dye her entire head pink at home and since I am not the biggest fan of crazy colors, so we compromised, and I brought her to Jessica. She decided on chunky magenta highlights, and it turned out beautifully. She was so excited. I highly recommend Jessica as she is affordable, does quality work and super hardworking. I've been here for a haircut and color and had a great experience. Tina is amazing and so patient and easy to work with. I'm someone who needs to work with my stylist to see what suites me. This was my first and last time coming here. I booked an appointment with Tommy to get my hair cut shoulder length and he left it extremely uneven. Now my hair looks ugly because of him. I told him specifically that I did not want my hair to be uneven, and he did the complete opposite. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated for booking with Tommy. Seeing that he's been cutting hair since 2000, I would've expected him to give great results, but I was extremely let down. The moment he called me up for the appointment he was already being rude, and did not speak to me at all during the appointment. In addition to that, while he was cutting my hair, he kept poking me in the eyes & not even apologizing for it, and he kept blowing hot air from the blow dryer right into my face. I did not feel comfortable one bit during the appointment. I also noticed he was using a hair brush that had already been used... My advice to you is DO NOT book with Tommy. I cried so much when I got home because of how upset I was about this experience. I regret coming here & wasting my money. read more

Pros: Service is good. The staff are super nice and friendly. I did walk-in and was able to get my hair done with a short waiting. But, got to say, the quality didn't quite hit the mark. I asked for an ashy balayage, showed them pictures, and addressed that I really don't like anything yellow-ish, but look what I ended up with. And this is even after some touch ups from the first dye. Maybe I'll get used to it, but this is definitely not ashy nor anything close to what I had in mind. Overall, it took about 4-5 hours and cost $185 for the color highlights. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe their hair cut is better, though? read more

That's what you call customer service. -- I'm a little disappointed with Salon One today. Maybe it was an off day. Here's my deal: as a client, I respect your time and come in early or on time for my appointments, so I expect the same from my stylist. This is a dealbreaker for me. It's already so hard for me to find a good stylist that I trust and today, it was broken. Yes, I am a bit dramatic, but my time is precious and I put out the energy I expect to get back. You'd think if you make an online appointment, you don't have to wait that long. I saw that Cindy, who was supposed to do my hair was nowhere done with her current client. I waited patiently for almost 30 mins and no one acknowledged me or got me started. I left and the owner called me to come back, but I was already livid and I needed to get back at a certain time. You're not going to waste 30 mins of my time and gas and expect me to stay loyal. It's too bad, as I know they always do a good job with hair, but unfortunately, I have to find a new stylist cause ain't nobody got time for that. read more

She is super kind and I loved having conversation with her. She is also efficient, the whole process took about 3 hours, I could not be happier!! This salon has always been great and consistent with their work, I have zero complaints! Everyone here is super nice and talented, I've gotten haircuts and my hair dyed here 99% of the time and have been for about a few years now. They are super flexible with scheduling, you can book on their website or call. Tina is excellent at cutting curly hair. The curls hold pretty well without having to use hair products (just scrunch wet hair). And, 6 weeks later my hair has grown out really nicely and people still complement it. Now she's also highlighted my hair. The streaks were a bit too bright for me at first, and without question Tina did a 2nd round of toner because she could see on my face that the highlights were a little too bright for me. It took extra time to do the process again, but she wanted me to leave happy. And, I did! I've recommended this place to my friends. Also, it's on Park Street on the same blocks as lots of good restaurants and shops, so you could spend a while here without having to re-park. Parking: 2 hour limit on weekdays 1.5 blocks away.
