I had an incredibly terrible experience with this business. First off, I am wheelchair dependent. When I arrived to the salon, I struggled to get through the door. The receptionist never bothered to help. Second, I was told I had made my appointment at the wrong salon and when I told them I just needed my undercut done (back of head shaved), which would have taken 10 minutes, the receptionist told me that there was no way that anyone would be available to help me today, tomorrow or the next and their was no offer to book a future appointment. Third, when I left the salon and again, struggled with the door, the receptionist did not bother to help. Obviously, this salon does not value me as a person. I feel discriminated against. I left feeling terrible. Someone should explain to this receptionist that those who are disabled are people too. read more

Owner is very rude!!!! I have been coming there since 2012 and I missed 2 appointments the first time I did a no show but I explained to the stylist my grandmother died and I forgot to call with everything going on it slipped my mind. The second time I called from my work phone and canceled. I called to make an appointment today and she said I can no longer come back because I didn't cancel I told her I did and she said that I was lying because my number wasn't in the call log and wouldn't even let me explain that I called from a different number. Ever since the other owner unfortunately passed that place has not been the same. She definitely needs to work on her customer service skills! read more

I had a really good first experience at Salon Lotus. I've tried a couple other salons (one in Midtown, one in Decatur) since moving to the area last summer, and nothing has been particularly special - in fact, the last place I tried was definitely sub-par to what I am used to. I decided to try closer to home instead of more trendy, in-the-city spots and I'm very glad I did! The space is very nice, comfortable and welcoming. The employees were all friendly and there was no snooty attitude here. You could tell they have a strong regular clientele because everyone seemed familiar with each other. My stylist was fun and talented, and I was very happy with the end result! I will definitely be back and my boyfriend will be headed there soon (there were several men in there while I was there, which was really cool!) read more

I got my hair cut by Lauren the other day, and I'm very happy with it. The cut cost $42, which I consider a moderate price. I was offered a variety of drinks when I arrived, and they had cookies and crackers too. The salon has a fun, yet professional atmosphere. It's not high-end and pretentious, which I really liked. Also, the salon is donating all the hair clippings to Matter of Trust, an organization that makes hair mats and booms to soak up oil from oil spills (like the Gulf of Mexico oil spill) out of donated hair, fur, and nylons. I love the fact that I got to pamper myself AND help the environment. I'm definitely going back again. read more

Anitra is the greatest!!! Thanks to my coworker I now have a stylist less than 20 min from my home and work!! :) Anitra is still a great stylist, but when someone scheduled my appointment on the wrong day, there was not an apology or an effort to fix it immediately, I was going out of town the next day and the next true appointment wasn't until that next Friday, the appointment that was supposed to be for that day. I then called another day to make them aware of the issue and the person on the phone didn't bother to rectifiy the situation he just confirmed that my Friday appointment was already canceled. I came to Salon Lotus as it is close to my work making it convenient to get an appointment during lunch or after work. Katie cut my hair and I was pleased overall - my hair is straight and long so doesn't require any styling. Katie is very personable and easy to converse with. The salon space is warm and inviting and the layout is very nice. Beverages are offered as part of their service. Upon checkout, Katie lined up every product (from shampoo to finishing) she used on my hair on the counter at which point I was asked what I'd like to purchase. That was the only part of my experience at this salon that turned me off. I'm still on the right salon for me search, but may come back here again. read more

I try this salon for color and cut.My stylist Rena was very friendly.She listened to me and said she will do her best and she did.I am very pleased with the salon staff , they ere very courteous and they offered me coffee and even wine.It is a well established salon with all good stylist are working.My color and cut turned to be beautiful.At the end Rena told me if I was not satisfied stop by she would do it again.Because I was a first time customer she gave me 25% discount and comlimentary glossing.I will definitely return this place.Finally I found a hair salon satisfied me. Just got over my severe haircut anxiety thank to Jill, she was fantastic! I put it to the test after seeing some of the positive reviews online. I was a walk in and got seen immediately. First a free glass of wine, which helped calm my nerves after years of bad haircut experiences and wasting money at different salons. She gave me a tour of the great facilities and all the services. Everything from the staff to the products used was relaxing and put me at ease. She gave me a great consult beforehand then explained everything she was doing through the process of the cut. 10% off the first visit and free bang trims between cuts. Didn't do any color treatment so I can't speak on that but I'd trust them after this experience. Will definitely be back for Jill. I just had a unique and prima donna experience at this salon lotus. I booked a haircut with stylist Tanya and I mixed up the time, my appointment was at noon and I thought it was at 1pm. When I was about to leave to the salon I got a call and I explained I was on my way. thought I was explained my appointment was at noon, I apologyze and explained the confusion and that if I can book another time with her. I was told that Tanya has requested not to see me again at all and that if I wanted to go to the salon someone else should see me but I had to call on the day to check if someone had canceled. I was not to make another reservation or be on the books again. I guess Madame Tanya is a super star hairstylist that at this point in her career can have an awful attitude towards a new potential and faithful client, I just moved to Altanta, and I am looking for an always go to hair stylist ... but I am a name and a number that can be tossed away. I hope her clientele of people does not recedes at any point soon, otherwise she might then consider being a little more compassionate or humble. For now, I will keep looking for another stylist that is understanding and moreover appreciative of the value of a new client. This situation does not speaks well of her as a person and the salon either! Perhaps this was for the better. read more

Anitra at Salon Lotus has been my hairstylist for many, many years. She is the best and I love her! All of the staff is friendly and seem like a family. The prices are less expensive than the pretentious Buckhead salons, and the atmosphere and service are awesome. Don't think you'll be paying Supercuts prices, however. The stylists are of the highest quality and very experienced. You get what you pay for! I've been going here since 2009, and the only person that cuts my hair now is Lauren! I've donated my hair, and since then, she takes care of me every couple months when its time for a trim! The staff is super nice, and they have great products, but don't push you to buy them. They have customer parties every once in a while, and in the 4 years I've been going there, Lauren knows my whole life story now! I send every one there, and even though I've moved across town multiple times, I have never changed my stylist! read more

Keri explained what she would do to my hair and fixed the color inconsistency I had after previous touchups. This salon is great! I am mixed and have curly hair that I usually flat iron to style and I go to Anitra for cut, color, and iron. She is amazing!!! She listens to exactly what I want and delivers results beyond what I even had in mind. I pay around $72 for cut and flat iron. A bit pricier than my last salon but definitely worth it for the quality. Plus they give you a complimentary glass of wine or other beverage of your choice and there's a cute snack table in the back with goodies for their clients. They have different specials on their products every month which is really nice if you are needing any new or replacement product, and they carry the Aveda line which I love. The staff is all super friendly and they don't push you to buy products if you don't want them. I'm a client here forever as long as Anitra is here! read more

It's been over a year and I am still a happy client of Ashley's at Salon Lotus. At the end of 2011, she told me twice that I should go red. Im thinking, this chick is crazy. But she had suggested cuts to me before and she has never steered me wrong. So I go red and I have never received so many compliments on a hairstyle/color as I have had with this. I'm talking about random strangers in the mall (i.e. Bloomingdale's) telling me what a great color it is for me (I'm kind of pale and the red is a deep red). It has made me more confident and I attribute part of that to getting me this really awesome job I had interviewed for back in March. I'm doing great at this new job and I have gone back to Salon Lotus to freshen up my color twice now. read more

I hate to give such a low rating based on one experience with one stylist, but if you go to Lotus, AVOID TRAN AT ALL COSTS. He is extremely rude, asks inappropriate questions, and even goes so far as to mock what you want done with your hair. My experience was terrible, and I will never go back. read more

I had been going to a pricey Buckhead salon for years, and was sick of paying an obscene amount of money for my hair. I have straight hair in a simple style so cutting it shouldn't take the expertise of Senior Executive Master Goddess of Style (or whatever those high-end Buckhead salons call their top stylists). Salon Lotus is by my house and I saw on their website that their prices are reasonable so I decided to check them out. Consensus: meh. The highlights were great. The cut was not. Unfortunately, this was something I did not realize until I got home because she had styled my hair with curls before I left the salon. There was a rather large chunk of hair that was significantly shorter than the other pieces. I begrudgingly went to my old stylist at the expensive Buckhead salon to have her fix what Salon Lotus broke. She did the best she could, but said that it wouldn't be completely fixable until my hair grew out more. I now continue my quest to find a moderately priced salon that does great work. read more
