The worst haircut of my life. Period.
Here's how the events unfolded. I called early in the morning to see if they'd be able to take me in for a haircut -- a simple trim to remove split ends and create an even line. No layers, just a simple straight line. My hair was about 6-7 inches below my shoulders. I also told them that I'll be going to a wedding in 2 days and would just flat iron my hair for the event.
I came in and was greeted by a young gentleman. He took me to wash my hair. Everything seemed to be going great.
Then we went to his station and he combed out my hair and proceeded to cut it. He plucked chucks of my hair out and just randomly cut it. This was the first time that I've seen a stylist just randomly grab chunks of hair and cut it without properly sectioning hair out.
I asked to review the work so far. I asked if I can comb out my hair since things started to look patchy. The left side of my hair was a wreck. It looked like a 5 year old cut it. The gentleman realized the mistake made and called for the older gentleman. The older gentleman told him to just dry my hair.
Once my hair was dry, I was handed a mirror to inspect the back. At this point, I was ready to cry. The back of my hair was all over the place. Some sections are 4 inches longer than others. The older gentleman tried to even it out, but the damage has been done. My entire haircut was a complete mess and I just lost at least 4 inches of my hair.
The older gentleman, hands shaking, took me to pay. In disbelief I handed him my credit card. The credit card machine didn't work. In an attempt to end the worst haircut experience of my life, I handed $50. The salon had no change, so I had no other options but to leave.
I immediately started looking for an alternative salon. I reached out to Bishops Haircuts and explained what just happened. They took me in within an hour and fixed the entire mess.
Let my tragic story be a warning. I was stunned and shocked. My friends asked me to return to the salon and demand my $50 back since I had to spend even more money to fix the mistake. I don't even know whether I should. I have never had an experience like this before.
Shame on this salon for destroying hair and charging customers for disasters. read more
