    I was a little hesitant with how this was going to go as far as an experience when I was checked in. Initially, I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling that I was going to be taken care of however it all ended well. When I walked into the lobby I see the wood and leather adorned waiting area with plenty of chairs and magazines to keep one busy. I was greeted and quickly checked in. The concern of how the visit was going to go was mainly based on the receptionist seemed pretty busy and somewhat distracted. Once I watched her in action I realized it was me reading into it and a non issue. I was offered and served a drink and quickly whisked away with the stylist who did an amazing job. She took time to notice my neck needed trimming, a bald guy with a beard rarely notices the back of his neck, and she took care of it. Most places would have done what was asked and moved on. I like the vibe, the decor, the prices and the Yelp check in discount$$$

    Shear excellence lives upto the "excellence" it's named after. This place got me tagged for last 1 year I am living in Ballantyne. The ambience, the service, the products and the stylists. Their knowledge speaks volume about their quality of service. Best recommendations and great customer experience. All the stylists are good so need not worry about having named one every time. This time it was Courtney and she is amazing. Thank you for great hairdo and tips. Shear excellence - wow!!! Had to revisit reviewing with 10 stars to stylist Bee who seamlessly taken over what stylist Courtney started last September and helped maintain the long hair with flocks look good last 6 months and today she helped the Transformation styling and did fabulous job. Thank you Bee.

    Just got a haircut from Alyssa there and she hooked me up. Showed her some pics and asked for clean cut but also original and she worked her magic! They have free beer and it's so rustic that you just feel like a man. Head massage is the best part. Friendly. Manly. Excellent. Would recommend.

    Love the look, athletically pleasing man cave. Smells great, lots of products and the TVs played all the sports games. The owner is friendly and professional. My 6 year old got the best hair cut and I promptly made an appointment for my husband who looked amazing afterwards. Got $5 off welcome card in the mail, they'll be back!

    First time I came I got a good fade from I think Katelynn. Still, wasn't worth the price at all…read more (57 bucks for a fade by the way ) But this time, the only good thing was how kind the staff is (even though there was one person in the whole shop, Vanessa) I asked for a low taper skin fade, and I end up getting NO FADE at all, let alone a skin fade. Insanity. I was confused and speechless when she said she was done. I asked if she did the fade and she says yes and tries to explain why it's a fade (which it wasn't) like I don't know what a low taper is. Then she proceeds to leave my sides all uneven and I told her multiple times to fix it and this haircut went on for over an hour. At least the inside is pleasant and they give you drinks and a wash. But needless to say I got scammed 55 bucks for a haircut I could've easily gotten from my mom or sports clips. Most overpriced bs I've ever experienced. If you get Vanessa leave the shop.

Autumn and Kayla were amazing, and somehow the owners couldn't keep them. Each time I've gone in since they've left it's gotten worse and worse. The last two times I went in they didn't even offer me a drink, which is part of the package, and some of the reason behind the high price tag, or so I thought. I have three sons, they're younger, and between them and I we were spending good money in there, but now we probably won't ever go back. The last couple of times I brought my boys in with me so we can all get a nice summer cut and clean a girl called me to ask the ages of my sons. They hadn't ever done that prior, and the unnecessary attitude she gave me made it sound like they didn't want to deal with kids. My son had talked about getting some fresh summer lines buzzed into his temple for weeks because his baseball friends were all doing it. I promised him he could get them the next time we got cut, so that's all he talked about for the whole day before we got there. We get in there and no drinks offered, no warm welcome, no hospitality at all, just a couple of girls that looked miserable to be cutting young boys' hair. My wife and I could feel the negative energy immediately when we walked in. My kids were very well-behaved, and they always sit well for haircuts, yet you could tell the stylists didn't even want to give it a chance. My oldest son sits in the chair and we start to tell her what we wanted and she was immediately confrontational for no reason at all. She wasn't even looking at my son for some reason, and it was uncomfortable. I tried making the best of it, and tried to ignore it, but it was near impossible. When we asked for what I call "summer lines" or just a couple of 2-3 inch lines shaved into his temple with a buzzer; the "stylist" refused. She straight up said no. I was stunned, and asked "why wouldn't you be able to shave a couple lines into his temple?" She replied "because I don't have steady hands and I'm not comfortable with the clippers..." needless to say I was baffled. What are you working in this field for if you can't shave a couple of lines into a kids head? We're paying over $30 for a kids haircut that took her literally 10 mins to complete, and she couldn't make my kid happy? What a crazy letdown for him, and totally uncalled for. The first few times we went in there Autumn blew us away by her warm welcoming, her sense of pride and enjoyment she got from providing good service, and her overall talent as a stylist, which was far superior than what I got the last few times. She remembered all of my kids' names, took her time with each one, and her and Kayla clearly didn't have any sort of issue cutting the hair of little kids. I really wanted this place to be my every three week place to be, but unfortunately that's not going to happen. The service is bad, the stylists don't give a care, and the prices are too high for what you get. I had to come home and fix 2/3 of my boys' haircuts last time because it wasn't even worth it to ask anymore of these gals that clearly didn't care about what we thought or wanted. It's a shame. As a business manager myself; I'd say there's nothing more important than keeping good employees that make your customers happy, and keep them happy. Customers don't want problems when we walk in. We don't want bad attitudes, hostile vibes, or excuses on why you can't do what we are paying for. Hopefully the owners get smart and get some reliable help in there, but the place seems like a revolving door, as I've never seen the same stylist in there twice after Kayla and Autumn left. From now on I'm saving a few bucks and getting fine service down the road at sports clips. What a shame.
