Purnell does my hair here. She has been my stylist for about a year now. She is AMAZING with color. There is nothing she can't do when it comes to hair. She's got my hair bleached blonde and still grows down my back. I adore her customer service and she gets me in and out. Most salons you have to spend the day there but not here. No complaints. The salon is very clean and in a great area. Plenty of parking and the shampoo's I get there are like Jesus himself is washing my hair. My hair is very very dense and VERY difficult for me to manage but she does it with ease. I love it there, I just wish it was closer to where I live. read more

The talent and management of the salon is far better than what I had experienced in the at other salons within the same vicinity! The health of my hair improved drastically now that Cheryl takes care of my hair and I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. I went here for a quick wash and set after my usual stylist downtown went on maternity leave. I was happy that they took me right away on a Saturday but that was as good as the service got. First of all, the shampoo girl was the worst. She could not do a simple shampoo/mold. The stylist scolded her more than once for packing product in my hair: Strike 1. So after about an hour of simple shampooing,conditioning, mold set, etc, I was placed under the dryer for what seemed like forever. Ridiculous, seeing as there were only 3 of us in the salon at the time (and FOUR stylists) and I have short hair. I was sorely disappointed in my stylist, NICOLE. She could not style to save her life. I found myself constantly directing her and guiding her to attain the style I normally wear: Strike 2. Strike 3 came when she semi-yelled at me for the direction I was giving her on my style. Needless to say I wasn't happy with that and questioned her ability to do short-styles. She had done a sew-in weave before me and the girl ended up coming back to get an exposed track covered. I'm ready to go at this point. Meanwhile, Cheryl the owner, is jazzing up everyone who sits in her chair. I must have seen 3 or 4 girls come and go leaving lovely while I was there. I struggled between rating the salon with a 3 or a 2. But the 2 would only be fair for my stylist. Appointments are generally well kept and I appreciate the fact that they have regular and professional reception. I've only had to wait 15-20 minutes once before. I like the keratin treatment but better ventilation is a must. I am not a big fan of my hair being brushed wet, nor the fact that Nicole cannot style to save her life. The Salon is great. Great product available. And with Cheryl onsite there is a general air of health and wellness. I love hearing her casual conversations about new things she is trying in the kitchen. Maybe odd for a hair salon rating, but I believe Cheryl has health in mind and you can tell it translates into hair as well. What can I say. I wish I'd gone to Cheryl first. I am enjoying the health of my hair but the blah styling is killing me and when I have shown Nicole pictures I have to wonder if she needs glasses. Simple short to mid length hair. Always end up fixing my hair in the car after I walk out. And for the price I shouldn't have to fix my own style. P.S. Edge control is so 1990s Aaliyah style. Let the edges fall where they may. See Kerry Washington. Nowadays women do not feel the need to plaster those edges down. Be proud of the natural 100%. Nothing to hide. read more

I am definitely coming back here. The salon actually sticks to appointment times..no sitting around wasting an entire day...no walk ins messing up your slot.. I am IMPRESSED! :-) Anywhoo, CHERYL is great..I don't think I've ever received so much advice/info about my hair in one sitting. I was ready to take out this &%#@#!$ weave but she saved the day! My hair looked better than the first day I had it done at some other salon *cough cough*..which should say something in itself. I mean my hair looks goood! I would NOT recommend this salon. Nicole didn't honor the appointment time because she had other clients that she was also tending to. When she finally got to shampooing my hair she left me by myself with conditioner in my hair at the sink. I waited by myself for about 1 hour and 40 mins while she did someone else's hair. She didn't even check on me or apologize for the wait. This was poor customer service and little regard for time.. read more

Her response to me meant nothing if that is not what you showed in person. Anyone can type what she did and not mean it. Save your money and go elsewhere. I was a walk in client so I did have to wait, however that was to be expected. Nicole consulted with me and I thought that she should have done a hair strand test before pushing a $250 keratin treatment. I wanted a relaxer but she knowingly stated that she didn't recommend doing that --again without a strand test or anything, so I trusted her expertise and did not get the relaxer. She deep conditioned my hair and treated it with a strengthener of some kind, and even gave me a deal and threw in a free trim ---and my total was STILL $90. Why this salon only has 2 $$ signs under it, I will never know but it is pricey for what you get, which was a basic wash and press for $90!! The final style was so so, my bangs weren't feathered and nothing was curled dramatically, just a bob. $90. I went back in 5 days and my hair was frizzy and she blamed it on the weather basically and again pushed the keratin treatment and suggested that I get a relaxer after all since I revealed that I sweat in my sleep. But if you know that your presses don't last and your client doesn't want to pay for a $250 treatment, why not do what they ask IN THE FIRST PLACE instead of taking $90 and then another $125 for them to have to come back to get the process they wanted to pay for in the beginning? This place is a rip off. I won't be back. read more

I came here for the first time the other day to get a keratin treatment and am so glad I did. I decided to get a keratin treatment because I normally flat iron my natural curls, which are frizzy and untamed. The non-permanent treatment is supposed to get rid of frizz and make your curls more defined without being a harsh chemical treatment, which is something I desperately needed. Also it's supposed to cut the time you take to flat iron it in half. The treatment is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it since it is supposed to last at least 3 months (6+ months with proper care). I set up my appointment with Cheryl, the owner, who really knows what she is doing. One thing I noticed is that they are true to appointment times and will actually turn walk-ins away if they are low on stylists in order to avoid interfering with your time. So I would definitely advise making an appointment! Cheryl did an excellent job and gave me great hair advice during the treatment, explaining specifically why I had frizz and breakage. My ends were severely uneven but thankfully Cheryl was sweet enough to include a trim. I asked her not to whack off too much hair and she was considerate enough to trim only a bit so that I could still retain my length, but have my ends looking clean and neat. Once she flat ironed it out, my hair was silkier and softer than ever. It felt sleek and straight like a relaxer but HEALTHY and not fried! The best part is that I can easily go back and forth between my natural hair and straight hair. I will definitely be coming back for more keratin treatments. read more

I am so happy with this Salon. I recently moved from New Jersey and had heard nothing but horror stories about salons in GA. I drove by other Salons and after looking at reviews decided not to call based on the online reviews. After seeing Salon Baptiste reviews, I decided to call and make an appt. with Pernell. Pernell is AMAZING! Pernell is professional, knowledgeable, confident (but not cocky) and has amazing skills. I initially wanted a touch up and to see if she could tone down my yellow/orange highlights. I decided to get a Brazillian Blowout after consulting with Pernell and allowed her to match my color to my skintone. After our discussion I felt confident she would have me smiling after my appointment. I walked out with soft, free and an amazing colored and caramel highlighted head of hair. The big test was the first time I washed my hair. I bought the product she suggested and was pleasantly surprised that I could almost mimic what she did with my hair. I received so many compliments on my new do...CONFIRMATION! I have found my Salon and stylist. Thank you Pernell for keeping me at ease and making me a happy client of yours. read more

Don't know what all the bad rating is about. My experience was sensational. My damaged hair has the life of the gods now!! Yes lord!! Its moving, bouncy, and swaying after a full year of abuse, neglect, and weave. The only downside is that I ended up paying an additional 50 dollars that I didn't anticipate. they are pricey :(...but like I previously stated, I had a lot of damage. And you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend coming-especially if you have thick, natural hair like me. The atmosphere is dope, its black owned, and Cheryl (the owner) knows her hair. I recommend booking an appointment with her upon your first visit. On a side note, they also bump the classic R&B which i always respect. A little Anita Baker and H-Town will go a longgggg way. My stylist of many years moved and away and I was in need of a new stylist and she referred me to Cheryl at Baptiste. The salon is very nice and clean, I did not have to wait long for either appointment as my old stylist had indicated. Cheryl was suppose to be my stylist but she was busy so I had Pernell. Pernell's is too distraction, lacks attention to detail and knows how to rack up the costs. I had a sew-in... over $500 and 3 visits later, I still have tracks showing, thread hanging - certainly not the work of a so called professional. This salon is way to expensive for the quality of work Pernell does. The prices are not clear, and what you think is a conversation, she is racking up charges. The sad thing is, she was very nonchalant about my concerns, she had an answer for everything. For me the talk is cheap... if I have to find another stylist to fix the work which I have asked you 3 times to correct, that is a problem. Meanwhile, I watch person after person leave Cheryl's chair looking fabulous and did not hear one complaint from any of her clients. I would not have a problem with the prices if I got what I paid for. I have had better work for a third of the price. Three times I spoke to Pernell about my hair and my weave went from bad to worse. I get that everyone has an off day - but you have to acknowledge that and correct your mistakes. This simply was not my experience I gave them a fair try and I will not be back. read more

I think I may already added a review for this salon once before, but because I have continued to have a wonderful experience I don't mind adding another one. I came to this salon about 4 plus years ago a HOT MESS. My hair had broken off, and the back of my head lets just say there was barely any hair there. Nichole met with me and said, Ms Pat, we are going to work with this and get you right. I will admit I was sooooooooooooo not sure about this since my hair was so badly damaged but I rolled with it. I was in the shop every 2 weeks like clockwork, and slowly but surely I started seeing some results. After that about a year and a few months, I was moving away :(, and did not think I could keep up with the weave on my own. Nichole says Ms Pat your is healthy enough that you don't really need the weave. My hair had really grown out to just blow my ears. She told me what I needed to do and what not today. I continue using the Morrocan Haircare line to this day and only apply heat twice a month. I moved about 6 hours away and YES I go back once or twice a year now (now almost 6 years) to get the Keratin treatment and to see the ladies in the shop. My hair is past my shoulders now, and I have been told by several that I have good hair, I stop them before they finish that sentence " its not good hair its healthy hair " thanks to Nichole and how she nursed my hair back to healthy.
