The person who took my call was so friendly and welcoming and thorough in understanding my wife and I's haircutting needs. My appointment was with Alicia and she was really fantastic! I have very curly hair which can sometimes be a struggle, but she was totally up for the challenge. I showed her a couple of pictures of what I wanted and ended up with my favorite haircut I've had in a long time!! She is also so easy to talk to and gave me some great tips and product recommendations to help manage my curly hair. Thanks Alicia! My wife also got a great short haircut (by Joseph? we forgot his name). She usually keeps her hair below shoulder length so she really appreciated his insight into styling and care tips. As far as COVID concerns go, I felt super safe for my whole appointment. Notable precautions they're taking include: masks for all employees and customers at all times, appointment only (no walk ins), partitions between all salon stations, and additional cleaning around the store. Definitely doing their part in keeping their customers and community safe! d' Artiste Salon will be my go-to recommendation for Atlanta hair salons from now on and am already looking forward to my next visit!

I purchased a Groupon for Partial Highlights, color blending toner, and conditioning treatment…read more First let me say that the actual cut and highlights were fine. The stylist, Sanja, was nice. However, when completing the initial consultation, she gave me crap for using the Groupon. She said that a cut was not included. I knew this beforehand and was fine with it. A haircut is $50. Then she told me that she could only retouch highlights instead of doing the "Partial highlights" that I purchased. This did not work for me since I didn't have existing highlights to retouch and the Groupon said nothing about just a retouch. She told me to read the fine print. Of course I did prior to purchasing the Groupon. We were going back and forth about the fine print for 5-10 minutes so I pulled it up and showed her the deal on the Groupon app and sure enough, I was right. After that, she went to front desk and talked to the receptionist. The receptionist came over and looked at my shoulder length hair and said it was okay to proceed since my hair wasn't that long. This whole ordeal was such a pain. Although the actual service was fine, I will NEVER go back. Salon Via, don't advertise on Groupon if you don't want to honor it.

Kelly Couture by Melanie is situated in Salon 3920. So don't drive around looking for Kelly…read moreCouture! The name Kelly Couture comes from the owner's last name and her love of unique fashions. Melanie is very professional; I like how she calls to confirm your appointments the day before. I really felt l got personalized service with her; she states your name when she greets you. She's very friendly and accommodating to her clients. When I talked to her, I sensed a lot of pride, passion and effort of her business. Check plus for customer service. I have gotten semi-permanent falsies put on before, in 2007. Back in the day (har! har! har!), the falsies were thicker and the glue stung. So, my lashes felt heavy afterwards. I dreaded washing my face because I had to be super careful about not touching that area, otherwise it would hurt me. Beauty is pain, dude. Anyway, today, the lashes are better material and the glue doesn't sting; you can actually keep your eyes opened for the process. Melanie did a good job of finding the right lashes for my eyes and trying to keep them falsies as "natural" as possible. The lashes generally last 2-3 wks, depending on how well you can maintain them. I'd recommend using q-tips to clean your eyes at night. Some of my falsies did fall out after 2 days, maybe due to my doing (it was Halloween weekend). Melanie does offer touch ups free of charge within 5 days of the service.

I did want to like this place. It's convenient and the staff was friendly. However, the actual…read morehaircut and experience was disappointing. After my disaster at CJ's, I didn't want to go back, even though one of the stylists who did not ruin my hair does a really good haircut for my daughter. But I wanted to try somewhere new. Enter Hairbar. I chose this place for my 9 year old to get her haircut for her first day of school. She has wavy/somewhat curly hair and she wanted it straightened, along with a trim. The stylist took her back, shampooed and then brought her to the chair. She straightened it first, and then cut it with her standing up. My daughter was cringing the whole time she was getting the blow dry, and finally said the dryer was hurting/burning her scalp. The stylist commented that she burns her own daughter all the time, which really wasn't all that comforting. I could tell my daughter was uncomfortable with the straightener because she was so fearful of being burned. She's never acted like that before at any salon. I just held my breath, and thankfully that part went okay. When she finished the back of her hair, I could tell that her haircut was visibly crooked. I asked her to fix it, which of course meant taking off more length and then she kind of haphazardly cut the sides in a tapered look, but not even on both sides at all. She could tell, I guess, and then just kept snipping away at the sides. For $35, I felt that's a bit steep for a child under ten's haircut. They did have a 10% off offer on Yelp, but she denied it, saying they don't accept it. Well, someone should take it off the Yelp check-in page then. The other part I didn't like is that she literally stared at me the whole time I was paying, as in watching to see how much tip I was going to give. I gave the standard 20%, but felt uncomfortable being observed like that while trying to pay. Nice staff, but I can't say I'd come here again. The next day, I was speaking with one of my colleagues and she said she had been there once, and that she didn't like the haircut or style afterwards and never went back. Guess it's back to the drawing board.

Decided to book a hair appointment for today and it was my first time at Hair Bar. The layout and…read moreprocess is interesting but the interior is nicely spaced. The round table is used for hair coloring/bleaching and the chairs to the left are for the heaters; the station to the right is for styling while the back is for shampooing and rinsing. You gotta ask for Tim/Thanh when you book an appointment at Hair Bar. I actually followed him to this salom and he's been with me on my hair journey for 3 years so I fully trust his decisions with my hair. Why? Because Thanh loves my hair more than I do (lol) and he will always explain what he is doing to my hair. I really like his work ethic because he doesn't cut corners and wants to make sure you leave the salon looking and feeling better than when you came in. The price you pay for your hair reflects the quality of love and care that goes into your hair. So yes, I would recommend Hair Bar. Ask for Tim!
