Tried to drop in on a Wednesday afternoon to get my son's hair cut, but they didn't have any…read morestylists available to take a walk-in. So, I called the next day and scheduled an appointment. Judy was able to take us in at 4pm. The salon is a decent size. They had 3-4 hair stylists working when we arrived. All were busy with a customer. Everybody had enough room to walk around. Parking is limited and is shared by other businesses, including a popular neighborhood restaurant, Three Blind Mice. As long as you make an appointment before the dinner rush at TBM, you should be able to find parking. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the stylists then Judy took my son to her station. They got started immediately. My 10-year old has been really picky and particular about his hair lately. So when Judy asked him what kind of style he wanted, he was not afraid to be very specific. My son would stop her and make a comment or ask questions while she was cutting his hair. Judy was very patient and listened to his requests. My son was very pleased with his haircut and so was I. We both got what we wanted. My son's hair looks so fresh and so clean clean. He has gotten so many compliments. We will definitely come back and see Judy for his next hair cut!

My GPS…read moreunfortunately sent me to the salon's old location, which was my mistake for not double-checking. As soon as I realized, I called to let them know. I would have been 15 minutes late. Rather than being even slightly accommodating for a long service appointment, they immediately marked it as a cancellation and charged me 50% of the service - $90 - despite the fact that no service was provided. The complete lack of flexibility or understanding was shocking. Charging someone $90 for a navigation error is pretty poor customer service. Policies are one thing, but this felt unnecessarily rigid.

My hair color was a train wreck, and I really wanted to go out for my birthday that night feeling confident with a new, bold look. I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to say that Master Stylist Vivian, Lily, Anthony and Danielle all made my dream a reality. The photos show the absolutely CRAZY transformation of my hair under these skilled stylists. Instead of wanting to put a bag over my head, I am over the moon when I look in a mirror now. Vivian has been doing hair since the 1980s, and she is truly a GENIUS. She was careful, ensuring that the bleach did not fry my hair, and she had the best ideas. It was a long process, of course, but worth all of the hours in her chair. If you need a hair miracle or a color correction like I did, I HIGHLY recommend Vivian and her team at Salon Arcaro without any hesitation. She KNOWS her trade, and she's TRULY a Master of hair ‼

It was a wonderful experience overall. I simply booked by making an inquiry online then confirming by phone. I booked an appointment for a relaxer, cut, and style with Erica Grier. Upon entering, I was greeted kindly and immediately started on my service. I don't recall the name of the young lady who relaxed my hair, but she did a great job. Also very attentive. Next up, Erica worked her magic. She brought my hair back to life and created a beautiful cut with curls, which is something I don't typically do but I loved it. In addition to her talent, she is very personable and I enjoyed talking to her. The atmosphere of the shop is very friendly and family-like. While you're being serviced, there is some great R&B music playing, but the staff are also having great conversation with customers. I felt very relaxed and at ease. More than that, I visited during a time in which I had been overcoming an ankle injurt and was using a knee scooter. The staff were so kind and accommodated me as much as possible. Pricing was pretty much within the range I typically pay in NY, which I think was fair and reasonable. The salon itself was modern, spacious, and clean. They also offer a variety of other services including makeup and facials. Overall I had a great experience. I highly recommend to others, and if I am ever back in town, I would definitely return.

So...This is my Go-To salon in the Duluth area, primarily because of convenience. Also, the pricing…read moreis very reasonable! However, I'm getting to the point that I may try to find another salon. Why?? For starters, the general attitude here is not good. Service is not a thing here, and unlike most salons, stylists (I've tried 3 different ones so far) are just not that personable. In fact, one of the three stylists I've tried here cancelled on me not once, but twice!! Obviously, I stopped booking with her. I also sense that they're not even that happy being there. I could be wrong, but it's the feeling that you get from these stylists. Still, the general hair cutting has been good...though, in my case, it's pretty basic. Just a straight line! I've always tipped 20%...but I'm starting to rethink this, given how the service is so minimal. On my last 2 sessions, the stylist barely said "Hi" to me. The place itself is pretty cool looking (in a grungy kinda way?), but I feel that the place may not be clean as it should be. I could be wrong here, but I've seen dust on their surface and arty structures. Also, I really don't like how they blow dry and comb your hair with their fingers. Not just a little bit while blow drying...but all throughout! It just feels a bit gross. I mean, who knows how clean their fingers are! I also hate the way they wash your hair. They actually have a separate girl that wash your hair (instead of the stylists)...and this girl is just not good! She has zero strength in her fingers...and I hate the way she even touches your hair! Possibly THE worst hair washing experience (experiences) I've ever had in ANY salon. I can't believe someone that's actually hired for this job (hair washing) does such a poor job! Despite liking the location and pricing, service and overall quality is always an issue. I may give it another try...but if my thoughts and feelings are confirmed once again on my next visit, I'll just find another salon in the area.

Brandy was there and ready to start on my hair. I briefly told her my concerns over the phone and she reiterated what I told her. I liked that bc it told me she was listening to my concerns. She assessed my hair and suggested I take a hair supplement that would help with the breakage and possibly start my hair back to growing. She also said she would put together a treatment plan for my hair needs. I felt comfortable with her service and her recommendations. I made an appointment for next week. I'm looking forward to Brandy helping me to get my hair back on the healthy track.
