I wanted so much to love this salon. It is near my home and it looked so chic and welcoming. I'm not completely upset with my experience there, but sadly, I will not be going back. To start, they do not post their hours anywhere because they prefer to have scheduled appointments only and deter walk-ins. This didn't bother me, but it took a few tries of walking by and peeking in before I was able to catch them while they were open and get a consult. I asked for a price quote for a balayage hair color for my short-to-medium-length hair. I was quoted $200. That is my entire annual hair budget (and then some) but I went for it. During my appointment, I showed the stylist, who scheduled my appointment and did the consult, the video of the balayage color that I wanted to try and achieve. I know that stylists are not wizards and I did not expect it to be perfect. I stayed engaged during the entire process and made it very clear that I didn't want the color to go all the way to the root (because I'm not good at keeping up with it and didn't want hard lines as the hair grew out). The color I asked for had a combination of my naturally dark hair with gradually lighter coloring toward the front. What I received was not even relatively close to the video I showed the stylist. I ended up with completely dark hair with two 1-inch golden blond streaks in the front and a few oddly placed, stringy blond streaks scattered throughout the rest of my hair. All of the color went all the way up to my root, so it will grow out with hard lines. She did a great job with the cut, I was a bit hesitant with the color while I was still in the chair, so both the stylist and I agreed that I would reach out in a few days to let her know how I was feeling and if I wanted any changes made, which I really appreciated. By that evening I had firmly decided that the color was not working for me and I wanted it changed as soon as possible. Since then (approximately 4 weeks), I have reached out to the salon three separate times and have never received a call back. I haven't been able to catch the salon when it's open to walk in and ask for help getting the color fixed. I haven't completely given up on getting ahold of someone but I'm not optimistic. I also am not in a position to pay to get it fixed by them or anyone else. Others may have had absolutely great experiences, which is wonderful, but unfortunately I did not. read more

I followed my stylist, Jintana, to Salon Ahda from her former digs. Jintana is awesome, and seriously charges the best price in town for a cut and color--you would not believe the cost if I told you! I never did care for that other salon and I always knew she could find a better place. I am SO glad she came to Salon Ahda--it's the perfect size, the decor is modern and upscale, and everyone there is super-friendly. The location is directly on Greenwood Ave, easy to find and easy for me to drive to from Edmonds. Parking is no problem. Leslie is a miracle worker!!! I had just gotten my haircut at another salon and they botched it SO badly!! I gave Leslie a call on my way home and she was able to fix me in. Thank god! This place is absolutely charming, contemporary, boutique-style ... just the salon I was looking for. The ladies are very friendly, easy to talk to, and downright talented. This salon is comprised of a small group of ladies whose personalities mesh perfectly together. I've known Jenny (one of the stylists) for a couple of years and have been getting my hair cut by her since she was at a different salon. Jenny does great cuts. She's professional, listens to what you want, will give her honest opinion on a cut (if you ask), and will keep you entertained with life stories as she does her scissor/comb magic. She's very meticulous and will not let you leave her chair until your hair is perfect! In fact, this one day, I was having my hair cut and done (by Jenny at her former salon) and I told her how my sister had a horror cut the day before at another salon. Lucky for my sister, she came with me because Jenny decided to take a look at my sister's hair. She shook her head and said, "I cannot let you leave this salon with this hair." She fixed my sister's hair, made it look 100 times better and didn't charge her anything. Hence, why she deserved a great tip. Anyway, try out this salon. It's new - it's fresh - it's real. And these ladies are so nice that you can just walk by and say hello and chat it up with them. I met the owner of the salon, Charity, and she's absolutely personable and charming. I am so happy Vassia is back!!! She is the only stylist who can make my difficult hair looks great. She is literally a Collor Queen. I have dark hair with a lot of grey and for a while I wanted to go ligher. I went to some other stylists and NONE of them was able to achieve anything with my hair regardless of the hefty price I had to pay. Only Vassia had the patience and the prefectionism to actually make my hair lighter and also cover my greys. A big advantage for me is that she works during the weekend. read more

Terrible! My hair was done by Vassia. I got the impression I was a very first customer in her life and she performed training in cutting hair on me. How they can charge $45 for the haircut that is done absolutely unprofessionally with a poor technique! Seems Vassia relies on using the product and a brush to cover a lousy job. It was easy making an appointment. I left a message and got a prompt phone call in return. Parking might be a problem if the area was busy b/c there was only on street parking available. I don't know if that's frequently a problem. Jenny cut my hair and she did a great job. I'm loving the cut even a week later (I typically have some post-style remorse). Wanda has done my hair for 20 years. She is simply amazing. I used to try and tell her what I wanted and then I finally gave up and let her cut my hair the way she wanted to. The best thing I ever did was let her do her thing. Every time it's fabulous, like getting a new pair of shoes or something! People that hang on to the same style forever - take my advice. I wanted to surprise my wife for our anniversary by taking her here before our anniversary weekend. I spoke with Jintana via email a few times about my plans. I told her about a hairstyle in a picture that my wife has mentioned to me on numerous occasions. She told me to send her the pics. I sent her one of the hairstyle and one of my wife. She said that would work perfectly with my wifes hair. I told her that I wanted it to be a surprise and I made an appointment for the next morning. We arrived early the next day and she played along with the surprise perfectly. My wifes hair turned out exactly as the hair in the picture and she gave my wife a few tips on how to recreate it herself. I've been with my wife in other salons and I know how pushy they can be, trying to upsell you on everything and push products on you. Jintana didn't do any of that. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. My wife was thrilled and it went off without a hitch. Jintana was great and we will definitely be back! read more

I don't write Yelp review often but I do need to write a review for Leslie. She is absolutely amazing!! She is really determined to do her job well. Her excellent attention to details and follows the need of clients keep making me coming back to her. She recently cut my hair just like the way I wanted it. My hair was a mess and she totally transformed it. She did the color for my hair and after blow drying it she found a spot that she missed. Instead of not saying anything , she told me to come back the following week to have it colored one more time without any charges. I was really impressed with her professionalism.
