When booking online, I selected "long hair" at the listed $65 price. Thankfully I confirmed the pricing upon arrival, because later during the appointment I was told my hair was "longer than long" and would actually cost $75. That felt frustrating and unclear. The haircut itself also didn't feel worth the price. The stylist didn't seem particularly confident, and overall the service lacked the attention and professionalism I would expect at this price point. I also wasn't greeted when I arrived, wasn't offered a place to put my belongings, and after my wash I was left walking back dripping wet without much assistance. The stylist who did my hair also came across as very cold and rude throughout the appointment, even though I tried to be friendly and kind. That said, there was another woman working there who seemed genuinely warm and welcoming to other customers, so maybe I was just unlucky with who I was paired with. At the end, my hair was straightened without really asking whether that was how I wanted it styled. When I asked about curling it instead, I was told the straightening counted as the one complimentary style. They eventually offered to curl it anyway, but only after I explained I hadn't wanted it straightened in the first place. Overall, this felt more comparable to a basic chain salon experience while charging significantly more. As someone with long women's hair, I personally wouldn't return or recommend it based on my experience.

I am somewhat satisfied with the result but did note a few things: -he cut my hair dry which was ok but the shears pulled on my hair at times -the end result was nice except it looks just a tad uneven in length - I noted that he didn't do what my former hairdresser does - which is pull the hair down in front to see if they are even. Nevertheless, I do like the result overall and may come back for another haircut, and will ask him to even out the front.

I have been going to Vanity salon for about a year now. Lindsay has always been my stylist. I unfortunately will not be returning after my most recent experience. I asked for a red to orange ombre but what I got was bright red ROOTS with blonde on the rest. When I asked Lindsay to fix it her response was an annoyed "Well what would you like me to do!?". She made the blonde more orange but the roots were still bright red and it looked weird so in tears I asked her to add more red and she told me she didn't have any more time and I would have to wait 2 weeks. Unprofessional in my opinion. She finally agreed to fix it in the 15 minutes she had before her next appointment and she seemed very annoyed. No longer talkative or friendly I felt really bad like I was inconveniencing her. Mind you I had already paid $150 for this!!! She slapped more red dye on it, blow dried it for a minute or two and sent me on my way. I went home to inspect what she had done and it looked AWFUL. There was no blending at all just a solid red line and then orange. SO, I went to Sally's beauty supply, spent MORE money on hair dye and fixed it myself. Very confused at what was up with Lindsay that day, maybe she was distracted or really annoyed at what I had asked. Either way when you spend that much money on your hair you should get exactly what you ask for and be in love with it. I will be finding a new salon unfortunately. read more

My wife was searching for a hair salon closer to home. She had enjoyed her high-end Redmond salon. She recently went to an expensive Kirkland salon and came home with the "haircut from hell" plus the styling product applied by the stylist had turned to a white powder. Very upset she searched her phone and found Vanity. Lindsey was able to immediately help her. Lindsey took the time to correct the haircut and make it as attractive as possible under the circumstances. She went above and beyond to make a very bad, expensive experience have a good outcome. Valerie has cut my hair for years, so when she moved away I had to find someone who could do as good a job. That turned out to be impossible. The others weren't bad, but my hair had no "wow factor" anymore. When I heard she was back in the area and working at Vanity, which is right near my house, I couldn't get an appointment fast enough. I saw her about two weeks ago and I'm still getting compliments on the haircut she gave me. The "wow factor" is back baby! Vanity is a great salon and Valerie is a perfect fit for them. Go see her. The salon has an up-beat, vibrantly painted motif. I felt right at home. I saw Valerie Phoenixx and left looking and feeling pretty and pampered. Valerie is a talented professional. I was very happy with the price, especially since most "curly hair" salons will charge for a first-time consultation and then into the hundreds of dollars for a cut. I thought her quote was very affordable. The location was easy to find, but the street doors to the building are locked, so you need to go in through the parking lot and find the inside hall doors, which are unlocked. Her single room salon was very clean and organized. She was very thoughtful about the cut I wanted, and asked questions about how my hair usually behaves. She said that she believes that the person who knows your hair best is you, and I really appreciated that, because I've definitely had stylists in the past who have heard me, and then gone ahead to give me whatever cut they felt like. I was hoping that adding layers and taking off some length would help my wider 2B/2C curls shrink and give my hair more volume, and the results started immediately and continued into a few days after the cut. My hair feels easier to wash, style, and manage in general, and it maintains its look for longer. Heather recommended some products she likes, but she didn't push for me to buy them, which is another thing I've experienced in other salons. The appointment lasted about 90 minutes. Overall, it was a really great experience--one of the best that I've had. Heather was very friendly to talk with, and very detail-oriented. :)
