I've been a customer of Nick for about three years now. The cost for a men's cut with Nick is reflected in his expertise. I can bring concepts of an idea to him, and he's able to bring whatever I envision into fruition. His salon is absolutely immaculate; Clean, well-designed, and well-appointed. On top of this, Nick maintains a friendly, professional, and approachable attitude. The results are tangible. A full selection of Oribe products are also available to purchase. For some further context, I have fuller, thick hair. For many years, I had a go-to style that I could describe to most any barber. Your average, low-taper fade, side part that everyone was rocking. I watched prices slowly creep at every barber I went to with wild variations in quality and satisfaction. No one had any insight nor creativity in their craft. I felt stuck and bored. So, I let my hair grow out to a point where I didn't know what to do with it and had no idea where to go. I don't remember exactly how I settled on giving Nick a try, but I'm glad I did. One of the worst experiences my hair has had, resulting in major hair damage, and having to book an appointment for color correction elsewhere.. I came in to fix my roots and add highlights and ended up with uneven highlights looking like 90s stripes, a reddish dark root color that I refused to pay for as even the stylist agreed the result wasn't acceptable. She ended up offering a free touch up session to fix the roots, which I would have appreciated; had I trusted it would be fixable. Overall the salon vibe was awkward and cold, the stylist don't greet you or converse with each other which was new to me. It wasn't busy when I got there but I've never experienced anything like this in terms of unwelcoming atmosphere. It was my first time at the salon and I was the second client walking in, yet nobody said "Hi!" Or asked when my appointment was. It also felt strange paying by personal Venmo, but that may just be me being used to getting a receipt. read more

Tyler did the worst job on my 17 year old daughter's hair one could ever imagine. She was crying mess for hours and ended up skipping her junior prom. We called to have another stylist resolve and were ignored. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. COMPLETE HACKS. And my daughter will not have another chance at prom. So sad, disappointing and angering. read more

Not only is she an incredibly talented and creative hairdresser, she is warm and friendly and always on time. My husband also comes to see her here and loves her too. He looks fantastic after her work and I truly feel like a million dollars. The salon is so clean and friendly with plants and the most comfortable washing chairs that I have ever experienced. This is a beautiful salon in Mill Valley. I followed my stylist, Ivy there and love the environment. Moreover, if you are blonde and looking for color and or highlights, I HIGHLY recommend Ivy. I've been getting highlights for longer than I can remember. I've been to top salons in NYC, LA, Boston and San Francisco. However, Ivy is hands down the best colorist I've had. Ivy is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me finally attain the perfect color. I like natural highlights but she does it all. Sometimes I want my highlights to be bolder and brighter and she always delivers exactly what I want. She also gives fantastic cuts too. read more

An absolutely perfect salon experience. I was greeted warmly, set up with WiFi and offered a refreshment. The 96 Throckmorton space is elegant, spacious and clean. The results were outstanding and I will "set my next appointment up soon." The schedule was pretty open now, but I think that may not last, as word gets out. This salon is AWESOME. I happened to be visiting in the area a while ago and got a haircut from Nick (owner). Not only was the haircut the best I've had, the whole experience was great as well - cool music in the background, the wonderful aroma of Oribe products, and a real pro stylin' up my hair. I've had nothing but "good hair days" every since. And, the haircut still looks great after several weeks! I give this salon my highest recommendation. Definitely worth the trip to Mill Valley.
