Pleasant surprise! I created my own salad. You choose the base and get five toppings included with choice of dressing. Topping choices were being freshly filled when my friend & I arrived. I chose romaine with chopped egg, avocado, buffalo chicken, mandarin oranges, & roasted cauliflower with balsalmic vinaigrette dressing mixed in. Everything was fresh & very tasty and the portion was quite filling. My friend chose a salad off the menu, which was also made on the spot, and she was able to choose an alternate dressing to her liking. I tried this place once and thought it was very average. The salad is definitely a bit pricey, but compared to places like Panera Bread-- it has bigger portions and more options. The service was alright-- they weren't the friendliest but they were doing their job. I ordered the mandarin chicken salad. It had oriental sesame dressing which was very sweet, but good. However, at one point it got a bit too sweet which made the salad hard to finish. The chicken tasted alright, nothing about it stood out to me. Something in the salad also tasted a bit fishy-- not sure if it was the dressing or any of the toppings. I don't like the taste of seafood so I was not a huge fan of the taste. The overall salad was just average and wasn't special in any way. I'm not sure if I'll come back. Although the portions are big, I am still paying $10 for pretty average salad. read more

When my Steve and I go to Willowbrook Mall, my favorite spot in the food court is Salad Works. I have yet to try the soups and sandwiches. I am sure I will and soon. It's the salads that caught my eye. I wasn't disappointed. I'm a health conscious person and Salad Works fits right in with my walking and workouts at the Montclair Y. The prices aren't exorbitant nothing costs more than twelve dollars and change. The young men who run the establishment are polite and friendly. The salads are huge, I always end up taking some of my lunch home. My favorites are: 1. The Bentley This includes iceberg and romaine lettuce, smoked ham, turkey, provolone, tomato and chopped egg. If there are foods you can't eat or don't like you can choose replacements. I can't eat tomatoes or cucumber. The suggested dressing is green goddess but you can choose whatever one you like. 2.The turkey club includes turkey provolone, bacon, tomatoes, radiatore pasta. I don't like provolone. So I ask for another kind of cheese. 3. Classic Greek. The feta cheese and kalamata olives are what make this salad. 4. I love the Farmer's market because of the amazing amount of ingredients. I can't eat brussel sprouts but I enjoy the feta cheese, turkey, and butternut squash. 5. I like the avocado Cobb. A variation on the classic chef salad. Avocado, roasted turkey, sliced egg, bacon. I joked to Steve that I was eating breakfast and lunch. 6. The grilled chicken Mediterranean salad features grilled chicken, super greens, and roasted red peppers. I still like ice cream and Nathan's fries But Salad Works is the place to go for healthy eating. You'll never feel deprived. read more

Overpriced salads but they serve plenty to fill you up and it's really the only place in the food court with healthy choices. The only thing I would suggest management to inquiry to change is the quality of their chicken? The vegetables are very fresh, and the cheese options are more than that from average place. My salad lunch is kind at the smaller end of portion scale. Yum! Greek salad with add beans and extra scoop of red onion. Yeah, I'm that jerk that eats onion in public. Prices are fair, the bread was warm and delicious and whoever made my salad put just enough salad dressing. In the foodcourt that's full of deep fried, cheesy, over salted and over oiled and absolutely no healthy items: this place is the tits. The portions are very generous. Ordered a chicken cobb salad and it came with white or wheat roll of your choice. There's also a large selection of salad dressing. It's was delicious and the best part is, it's healthy and you can check the calorie count as everything is listed including salad dressing calories. I love how the salad is made fresh and you can alter the salad ingredients. The service is friendly. The place is located in food court at willowbrook mall between Popeyes and Chinese food, master wok. For average of $10, you do get a big bowl of salad. I can share the portion with a child. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Saladworks in this area are not run properly. Saladworks in different states are amazing. I can see both Saladworks in this area is the same owner, so maybe there's poor management between these locations. Both have low star reviews. I've been here twice. The first time I came you got a piece of chicken in my salad which made me severely sick since I'm vegan and allergic to it. After showing the manager the piece of chicken he apologized and said next time ask us to get the ingredients from the back. This is a salad place...you should understand that all salad places should be able to accommodate to vegan customers. When I came the second time and asked them to get the ingredients from the back they were extremely rude and told me they didn't have time for me. The one girl also called me a "spoiled white b****" right in front of me to her other coworkers. She even said that next time they can only help me if there's no line and if there is one I can't be served. I called customer service immediately and they refunded me and granted me a free salad for dealing with that, but I am appalled by the service at this location. The manager obviously has not instilled the importance of customer service into their employees. Also, he/she hasn't taught them that cursing and name calling is not ok. read more

While I was at the mall, I stopped by the food court only to be surrounded by all things that would derail my diet. I spotted the Saladworks and was immediately drawn to it. I've heard a lot of good things about Saladworks before and decided to give a try. I like how you're able to create your own salad with all different toppings or choose one of their specialty salads. I went with the Sophie's salad. It had bleu cheese crumbles, apple slices, craisins, glazed pecans, and chicken. I added beans, carrots, and egg to it as well for .80 cents extra. I was a big fan of Saladworks. With all of the temptations surrounding you in a mall food court it's nice to see a healthy option available. I definitely recommend it. read more

I was horrified and do not want to know what else could be and may have been in my past and future salads here. Will not be coming back to any saladworks in the future. I had a tasty salad here however the portions were quite small. The worst part about this salad works is not one that is isolated to this location and that is the price. Saladworks, chopt, art of salad, are all guilty of giving it to the customer when it comes to price. At least the portions you get at chopt kind of justify the price . read more

Been shopping at this mall for years and love that they started adding healthier food options to the food court. However I was EXTREMELY disappointed to see the poor food handling practices at this Salad works. There's cross contamination in almost every topping choice. Feta all in the quinoa. Different types of lettuce in the dressings. I thought to myself "I guess I'll tolerate this for now. Accidents happen." I jokingly suggested they clean up a bit because it's a bit unsightly. Walked around the mall and decided to have a bite of my salad only to find a huge block of CHICKEN in my basalmic vinegarette! I'm vegetarian so this instantly put me off. I went back over to the location to request a different one and lo an behold, all of the salad ingredients were still cross contaminated. If the employees can't be more careful, the least they can do is clean up their messes. Not vegan/vegetarian friendly. Even if someone wasn't necessarily vegan but if they had a food allergy, the chances of them having a reaction are EXTREMELY HIGH. Update: found some corn I didn't request as well :) read more

I'm not a fan of buying overpriced salad but I'll make an exception for saladworks. They have a good selection to choose from but I recommend to build your own salad. I feel is more bang for your buck. You get your salad to your liking. However, my recommendation is to get the soups. Its a healthier alternative to everything else in the food court. Ugh. If it wasn't that I forgot my lunch today I would have skipped. In general I like the idea of Saladworks, it's a healthier option than most of your other take out options. The fact that you can control what is going into your salad is a huge plus. This location in the food court at Willowbrook is usually pretty busy so when I realized I needed lunch and saw no line I jumped at the chance. 3 guys behind the counter--the one that helped me looked as though he was in immense pain. I tried to make my ordering as efficient and pain-free as possible. This man rushed me as though there were 85 people behind me, then another guy comes from behind him and starts asking what dressing I want, while the first guy was irritated because I couldn't hear him mumbling "black or kalamata olives" kalamata dammit. Then he asks again what kind of dressing I wanted, it was already set aside, so he smushed it into the scoop of avocado I asked for. Thanks guy. The third guy rings me up and sends me on my way. I wish I took a picture of this salad because it was the saddest looking thing you ever did see. Spinach, eggwhites, chicken, broccoli, avocado, and olives. It basically looked like he threw everything onto the plate and tossed it at me, plus the amounts were skimpy---in general I know that they have pre-measured spoons and scoops but this looked skimpy and sad. Literally the worst service I have ever experienced at a Salad Works. The woman practically yelled at me. I was the only person on like too. Thy didn't have various ingredients such as eggs... Lord help the vegetarians. I could have made two salads with the amount of dressing she used but actually didn't want to say anything because of how she bit my head off. If you want $1.00 salad go to McDonalds dollar menu!!... Come on people!!! They give you enough for 2 people to share a salad. I even took a salad to go for lunch the next day.
