Salad station is my jam, y'all!! I love it. Soo many options and it's something healthy I can quickly get when I'm in a rush. Unfortunately we don't have one where I live but it's my go to when I'm out and about.

Can't ever go wrong with salad station, if it's nasty it's your own fault because you get to fix it all by yourself. Just like frozen yogurt, they weigh it up and you pay the price based off of the weight. I get something different Every time I come. It's always great. There's a variety of things to choose from. They even have hot food if you don't want salad. Love it!

Andrea was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. From the time I walked in, asked questions, and checked out with my salad she was amazing!

I usually get the happy hour eggrolls, won ton soup, maybe a crunchy roll for lunch. Eggrolls are the best. Sometimes I will get a Streetside Roll. Lately the sushi has been on point perfecto! Lunch is always pleasant and fun because I have gotten to know some of the staff around the bar area which is great to sit at for lunch. Dinner I usually get more - Streetside Roll OR a WonTon Noodle Soup - which is the best soup on planet earth and the soup of champions. Also, wok box is good. Beef and broccoli. Fried rice is great. Mixed veggies always great. Lo Mein always great. Asian is the strong point here IMO. I like the atmosphere and feel of this restaurant. Always a nice time. Value is acceptable and within reason. One note though - Sweep the floor around tables and booths more, and fully wipe tables and booth seats better. Sometimes there is food from previous party left on booth seats. I do not want to sit on other people's food debris. When you wipe a table it must be fully wiped and then you have to wipe the seats too. Then do a quick sweep of the floor before sitting the next party. Overall: One of the best places around town. I love it!

The service was wonderful, our waiter was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. It was a very cute establishment, but the food was just a big miss for me. I thought it was neat having several different choices of food, but I was expecting a little better quality food. The meat didn't taste all that great in my Udon combination. Not bad, just very cafeteria quality food. To be totally honest though, I think my hospital's cafeteria has much better food. We were recommended to try the honey garlic chicken, but we did not at all except to just receive a plate of fried chicken nuggets with honey mustard slathered all over them. Again, tasted just fine, but nothing special at all. The lo mein was quite bland to me. Never hurts to try something new though! Nonetheless, the happy hour was great. We got hot sake and egg rolls ($1.50!) and those were so good!! If I were in the area around happy hour, I would consider going back!

We eat out fairly often, so we encounter a lot of different waitstaff, and it's rare for someone to stand out the way he did. Will has mastered the very fine line between being attentive and being intrusive. He seemed to appear at the table at exactly the right moment every single time--never hovering, but never leaving us needing anything either. In fact, my teenage daughter even commented that he always came by at the exact right time. We wanted for absolutely nothing. He anticipated our needs before we had to ask, kept the meal flowing perfectly, and made the entire experience feel smooth and relaxed. This was especially impressive considering it was a busy Sunday lunch rush. Great service like that makes a big difference in the dining experience, and Will truly made ours exceptional. If you get the chance to sit in his section, you're in very good hands.

How the mighty fall. Mariner's Inn used to be one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Hammond…read more Apparently the restaurant has changed hands, and the new direction it has taken disappoints me. The sports bar aspect of the business has been emphasized and the food quality diminished. The food isn't bad, but it's certainly not the standout it used to be. For example, the hamburger steak entre I ordered was okay, but it was $12 for the patty covered in gravy and mushrooms, one side, and "garlic bread." My side was plain rice - no extra brown gravy on it, despite my request - and the garlic bread strips were small. I suppose everything these days is expensive, but it felt underwhelming. I also ordered a cup of the soup of the day: shrimp and corn. My former favorite - I used to visit specifically for that dish - it's now best described as unmemorable. The service was friendly and fine, despite some mistakes. With one room now basically dedicated to the bar and pool tables, there's a more noticeable "sports bar" vibe, though I don't think there were a bunch of TVs in the dining area? I wasn't really paying attention to that. If you're looking for a place to play pool, drink, and eat something decent, sure, this is still a good bet. But if you're just looking to go out and have a great meal in Hammond, Mariner's Inn no longer makes the recommendation list.

Now Mariners is apparently a pool hall with a restaurant in the back. Wow. Shocking and sad…read more Apparently the new owners and management didn't understand that much of the allure and ambiance of Mariners Inn was being able to sit and overlook the old fashioned downtown Hammond through the front windows. I'll eat in a restaurant that has pool tables tucked away in the back, however I most likely wouldn't eat in a pool hall with a restaurant in the back. Friday night when everyone else around you are slammed and you have an empty restaurant maybe try a rewind and just copy what Bruce did for forty years instead of trying to fix what wasn't broken. I can't bring myself to rate Mariners less than a three star but frankly these days that may be generous. Please do better.

We, a family of 5 traveling from Kentucky to Galveston decided to stop overnight in Hammond. As soon as we arrived, our waitress immediately recognized the pent up energy of a 3 year old cooped up in a car seat for the last 8 hours. She immediately took his his order and had his dinner on the table quickly, occupying his busy hands. She recommended the spinach dip as appetizer with a fried pasta . It was gone in minutes! Great. She then recommended the special, pork loin, that my son devoured! Wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed the crab cakes. I had trout with almandine sauce. First time eating trout but after eating this, I realized I have missed out! It was outstanding. We got here around 8ish in the evening and it was raining so not many people here. So we propped up at the bar and ordered. I was in a martini mood so Gin martinis were my calling; they made them the way I like: slightly dirty w/ extra olives. I can't remember how many of those I ordered but they went down smooth. I didn't want to order anything heavy so I decided on the Brussels Sprouts and a cup of the Chicken/Andouille Gumbo. The Brussels were crispy and had a nice soy glaze to cap it off. They garnished it with some peeled scallions which gives a nice finish. I'm a sucker for Brussels Sprouts; if they're on the menu, I'm very likely gonna order them. The gumbo was pretty good, had a tomato richness to it. I forgot what my friend ordered; probably cause I had too many martinis. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from Hammond but it's worth it. Check it out when you're in the area!
