Our AC went out and we contacted Sala. Benny quickly came out the next day. It just happened to be the hottest day of the year. The overall service was excellent. He quickly identified the problem and gave me an estimate. Very reasonable. He did an outstanding job and fixed everything. Would definitely recommend Sala. Thank you!!!! read more

My mom did in fact call Sala again to have our 2 AC units serviced. Tyler came out and gave us a heads up 20 minutes before arriving. He was pleasant, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about units. He answered all our questions. He also wore the shoe covers to not track dirt inside our home. The service was pretty pricy ($700 +) so just be prepared to pay extra just in case you need freeon added or a part to keep your AC running properly like we needed to. read more

We have used Sala A/C company for the past 8 years and can not say how much we absolutely love this company. They have the best techs and trust their decisions as they have the homeowner's best interest at heart. They have always responded very quickly and have the best customer service!! read more

By reputation I already know this is a great company and has good people as technicians. One technician has been to my home 3 times and deserves recognition! José Rodriguez has a calm and pleasant demeanor, good manners, polite, and incredibly intelligent! He knows his craft very well! He communicates so well too! I am grateful for Jose and feel at ease when he's my technician. Sala Air, you are very lucky to have Jose in your crew! God bless all ya'll. read more

Referred to Sala by my neighbor and long term customer for a newly purchased house with 15 yr old A/C units which suddenly burned out during a heat wave. They came within 3 hours and replaced burned out wiring and burned capacitor and water cooled the outside compressor working overtime. (It helped that they had previously serviced this unit.) Courteous and rapid service that the painters and owner working in this house appreciated in the heat. I will use them again for standard servicing work. read more

Excellent friendly service. Thoroughly checked my units. Quickly found my problem. Didn't try to sell me new units or parts. I will definitely use them again. read more

Called yesterday afternoon and they scheduled me for first appointment this morning. Tyler from Sala came out this morning and was able to fix us up for just the minimum diagnostic charge. After he fixed our (capacitor) problem he then did a thorough check of the outside unit and the blower unit in the house. He was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions to help educate me about preventative maintenance for the future. Will definitely use Sala again in the future. read more

I have used Sala since i bought my house about 4 years ago. i will say that the first time there were some issues but everything was resolved and since then i have them them to be very good indeed. They have come out a few times since as i have an old system that should be replaced but the cost of any system is very expensive. they have been very timely in there responses and this week my whole system stopped working. i called them Monday morning and was expecting to schedule something later in the week but as luck would have it Tim and Jose came round later in the morning. Explained what the issues were and set about replacing needed items and before long i was up and running again. Small family businesses cant always compete on certain things but i love dealing with these guys. They will alaways get my business . read more

Update: Since my original review I have had Sala Air out for two other items for our dual furnace and AC system and they continue to deliver fantastic service and are some of the most friendly honest people I have dealt with from a contractor standpoint. I continue to highly recommend them for anything that you need related to your air conditioning or furnace needs. read more

I called Sala AC to come out and fix a problem with my AC. Mark came out and diagnosed the issue but told me that he could not fix it today because it was not hot enough and would have to come back to do so. Mark said that someone would call me back to schedule this. Well, no one called that afternoon nor the next day. I called the following morning and spoke to John. John said he would communicate with Mark and call me back. You can probably guess that John never called me back. I really do not understand what happened here. If these guys are not competent enough to solve the issue or do not want my business, why not just tell me that so that I can get some professionals out to resolve the issue? Why do two employees completely lie to me just to get me off the phone? Why waste my time like this? Unfortunately I cannot give zero stars because that is precisely what these guys are, absolute zeroes. read more

We love Sala Air! Turns out we had another issue - unrated to the a recent one - and they immediately were able to get us on their schedule. And lucky for us, Jose was the technician again! Can't praise him enough - so polite and friendly and an expert at what he does. We are so grateful for the expertise and professionalism of Jose and Sala Air!! read more

Technician Mark did an excellent job of thoroughly analyzing an A/C system that must be replaced. On the duct work alone he inspected and photographed how bad it is and explained the problems we would have if they were not replaced along with the system. He explained the issues in a non technical manner that was easy to understand. He was very professional, prompt, courteous and willing to have questions asked without an attitude. Some of the techs that have come to evaluate the same system spent a very short amount of time, simply looked at the duct work from a distance or had an attitude when questioned. Mark is an asset to Sala A/C. read more

I am very satisfied with their service. The day i called I was aggravated with another company and I called sala I thought they were dismissing me so i hung up on the guy, but he decided to call me back. He was very nice and offered me a visit without charge so I accepted and I am so happy I did. Pablo came over to my house gave me a price two days later Pablo and Roberto did my AC. Roberto was so good very nice guy he even cleaned my floor. Everything is nice looking, clean, and working. Oh I almost forgot. They also enlarged my vent because the old one was so small not even a mouse could go through. read more

Sala A/C installed the air conditioning unit in our funky old house about 3 years ago. Another company placed a bid, but Sala won our business because they were able to work with us to come up with some creative ways to use existing ductwork to make our system work, and bring the cost down. But what really won my heart was when they installed it. Working in a super hot attic in the summer has got to be the worst. I didn't even like being in the (cooler) house. But every single worker was friendly, upbeat and respectful. And they did a great job! Since then, our every service call has been great. When a part that was under warranty broke, they did everything possible to get the unit up and running, so as not to leave us running expensive auxiliary heat. They even hauled our unit into the shop when the freezing weather made it impossible to fix outside. These guys are my heroes! Thank you, Sala! read more

My husband and I moved into a condo recently and made an appointment with Sala A.C. to check the systems' status. Alex did a fantastic job! He explained (very patiently) the 101 of my unit: what kind of systems I have, maintenance required, he even taught me how to clean the devices. I appreciate he did not try to sell me services or products, he explained my options and allowed me time to do a quick search online to understand what he was proposing. It is very important to establish a good relationship with your A.C. company, and we I think ours if off to a good start. Thank you, Alex! read more

I have used Sala Air Conditioning for 40 years with never a complaint. They have replaced my entire central/heating unit and I am thoroughly satisfied with their skills, efficiency and price. They always respond quickly, schedule service appointments at the earliest possible time, arrive on schedule and clean up when they leave. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Sala was recommended to me by several people but I used my home warranty, and if I knew then what I know now I would of listened to my friends. I did have trouble getting a call back several times, which was very annoying, but when they would call me back they were accommodating. I own a duplex in Oak Cliff that had two HVAC systems that were 30-40 years old, yes I had two serial #20+ GE systems. My home warranty said I could keep fixing things for a $60 copay every time, that didn't cover shit, forever. I've canceled that home warranty for this and other reasons since. It wasn't till I called Sala that anyone actually tested the systems and leveled with me. I realized that the duplex I bought had old systems but I am a first time home buyer and this was a learning experience. Sala came out and walked me through all the issues, showing me actual readings, where previous owners/tenants faulted and told me they were willing to repair as much as they could. They were even willing to continue to repair issues indefinitely but I realized it was time to replace. While replacing they walked me through everything regarding compressor and furnace replacment, what to expect, how long it would take, what I need to do maintainice wise and what to do for the warranty. I'm happy with the outcome and will be using Sala again. read more

As a business owner, I can't afford to have AC problems. When our AC stopped blowing cold air, all of the employees had to be sent home, and I anticipated being essentially out of business until the AC unit was fixed. David and Gilbert were out to inspect it less than 2 hours after I called Sala. They had all of the right equipment and experience to find the problem and come up with a solution. Rather than try to upsell me on a new unit, and knowing that every day it was down I was losing business, they suggested the far less costly plan to replace just the failed compressor on my old (15+ years) AC unit. They managed to find the parts locally, and I had the employees back in the office the next afternoon. I cannot express how confident and satisfied I am with Sala, and will continue to use and recommend them as my AC experts. read more

Twice in one week, Sala has come to the rescue and been out at the last minute to service our rent house and today our house! They are professional, courtesy and affordable! I would recommend Sala Air. They are honest and informative. They fixed the problem up quickly (within a few hours of the call). The customer service is great. Jason was very helpful and very friendly. Awesome company and highly recommend!!!! read more

My service contract with a local HVAC company was about to expire, after calling them and becoming frustrated over the hassle to renew and for someone to come out, I quickly searched other local companies, I called SALA and talked with both brothers, Jon was kind and accommodating. He informed a technician would come out same day. Mark arrived and went over the "Comfort Club" service agreement professionally, I agreed and Mark got to work out. He kept me informed through the process and did an excellent thorough job, while saving me $$$$$$. Being a residential homeowner over the last 20 yrs., SALA is by the best for AC repair, cleaning, etc. Keep up the GREAT work. read more

My Ac went out in a Texas summer. Sala answered after hours. They were able to come out the next day and fix my AC in less than 45 minutes. I paid $170 which was okay with me. However I had the exact same issue exactly 1 year later and I had to pay $170 again. I only gave 4 stars only because I had the same issue twice. If it happens again within the next 18 months I will use another company read more

An air duct in my attic was torn and hanging loose. I wanted it fixed ASAP since I thought it was letting cool air escape into the attic as our AC had lost some efficiency. I was also having our house's vents and air ducts vacuumed a few days later and wanted to avoid any further damage. I called 4-5 places and all were very nice and obviously happy to help. However, most were unable to come out for 2-3 days. Or they wanted a hefty service call fee to provide me with a simple estimate. And of course, they all explained that I could need a new air duct line that could run $300-500. When I explained my situation, Sala Air Conditioning worked to fit me into their schedule. They sent over someone that same afternoon who was in my area. Their tech was prompt and courteous. He examined the torn duct and said he could easily fix it with staples and duct tape. He was very straight forward and there was no attempt to "upsell" me any other services. He even changed out my attic AC filter and air freshener since I was still in my work clothes. The cost to repair the duct was $75. This was $25 less than the base service call charge of another competitor that I had called. I asked the tech to look at the outside AC unit as well. Everything checked out okay except that it was a bit low on freon, which is why my AC had been running longer than usual as of late. He estimated that it needed 1 to 1.5 pounds and ended up putting in 1 pound. The charge was $75 for the diagnosis and $26 for the coolant. All total, I spent right at $200, which I thought was reasonable for all the things I needed done. I've had AC companies charge more than that just to open the compressor cover, charge it up and wash the vents with a water hose. The tech was laid back and fully explained everything that he did. He was also very clear about the extra charges that I would incur by requesting additional assistance. I appreciated their prompt service and fitting me in at the last minute. They could have tried to gouge me since they knew I was in a bit of a time crunch. All in all I'm really happy with the service and end result (i.e. a cool house that smells nice!). I will definitely call them again for any future AC/Heat work until they give me a reason to stop. read more

I've used Sala a couple of times for A/C service. They've done good work and haven't tried to upsell.

Sala Air Conditioning lived up to their reviews on Yelp. The office staff were very helpful and accommodating. The Service Technicians called 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time. They introduced themselves and explained their process for completing the semi-annual maintenance on my air conditioning units. They were very attentive to ensuring no dirt was tracked into the living spaces. Mark kept me informed of their progress and made recommendations on repairs needed to obtain maximum system performance. (Thank you Mark and Ivan.) I recommend Sala without hesitation based on this outstanding service by the office and service technicians. read more

When it's blistering out and your "cold switch" is dead, do what I did and give these folks a call. Cross your fingers that everyone of them isn't out in the field. If you need a 100 yr old house re-fitted with heat and air... these are your guys. I own a house in Oak Cliff. the system was goodness knows how old .. The unit quit me in 2011 was told a repair would be 2k and up... and why invest . replace. but then... the cost right? years later after living with window units and space heaters.. got together 5k.. no one will even speak to you if that is all ya got. *sigh* but I needed several high dollar repairs.. got a equity loan. My thanks to the estimate guy Jeff for being pleasant and supportive from the first estimate thru my equity cash out process... (took awhile) The bid was only good for 14 days but he made it work out in the end, at the original cost. as for the work!!!! damn... feel like I got a crazy bargain for the amount done. all my venting replaced- furnace & condenser. attic is neat. everything suspended ready for new insulation on the attic floor. extra intake vent, extra drain hose in case the primary gets clogged. they covered everything.. and a super fancy digital thermostat that can be remotely controlled via a smart app. also the crew chief Pablo was very attentive & instilled confidence. explained process. workers not terrible intrusive. A+ all the way. highly recommend. read more

The customer service from start to finish was excellent. Upstairs ac unit wasn't working and they came out to diagnose and we needed a new blower motor. Took the time to look up the warranty info and find out the part was under warranty so we could save money. Labor price was very fair and the tech, Mark, was very friendly and professional during the install. I really appreciate them actually looking up the warranty and not just trying to stick it to us like some companies might. Would definitely recommend and will use again for any ac or heating issues in the future read more

We used Tim at Sala Air Conditioning; both of our A/C units had stopped working over the weekend. He came in early Tuesday morning (a couple of days before any other provider could get out there--in fact, another small HVAC company recommended Sala!) and got right to work identifying the problems (capacitor in the one fan's motor and a capacitor in the other system's condenser were both blown out). Tim was super nice and polite and came in before each fix/part to tell us the cost of the part and ask us if it was OK for him to install. He was definitely honest, too--he told us that the Freon was a little low on one of the units, at a level where we could probably leave it or he could top it off. We told him to top it off and the amount was less than he estimated. A less honest tech could easily have used that as a way to pad the bill and there's no way we would have known. He was super fast at resolving several different problems and definitely didn't overcharge us. And our house is cool again! We would use him (and Sala) again. read more

Had called multiple AC people when the downstairs unit in my house went out and no one could come out that day except Sala. I was very impressed with how quickly they were able to schedule the service. Turns out the unit froze up (probably from my negligence in changing the filters! oops...) Mark came out within two hours and the unit was functioning great after that...for two days. I came home from work a couple days after Sala originally came out and found the home was not cooling properly again. I called Sala to see if someone could come out and John and Mark (who happened to be on call) were great. It was initially very frustrating since it is over 100 degrees right now but I want to compliment Mark and John on handling the new issue so professionally. Mark came out shortly after (even though it was 8:30 PM) and fixed a faulty component in the outside unit. Everything is back up and running and I was very happy with Sala. Most people would not be happy when they have to call the AC guy twice in one week but honestly, I feel that Sala handled the new issue professionally and in a manner that makes me confident that they are very well managed. I will definitely recommend Sala and use them in the future should I need any additional services. read more

I called Sala late in the afternoon due to a broken condenser fan. Mark came the very next morning and had our a/c up and running the same day. He was pleasant, had all necessary tools to do the job, and was very thorough. He had to go get some parts but returned in less than one hour. He also did not try to sell us a new unit because ours was repairable. Sala is the best a/c service company I have ever dealt with. WS read more

I was impressed with how fast they made it to the house when our A/C quit working. I do question the 6 lbs of Freon they charged me for since I just had my unit inspected by another company the previous season, but leaks do happen. But this is not why I am ranking them so low. Over the last 90 days I have spoken to them four different times requesting a quote for annual fall & spring service agreement. In addition, an estimate to replace my compressor with a new state of the art compressor (outside Unit). Each time they tell me they will send me the information I have requested. After a couple of weeks I call them again. They have no excuse but say they are sorry and will send me the information. After four contacts, I give up. They obviously don;t need my business. This was my first time to use Sala and unfortunately it will be my last. Too bad as we really liked the service technician on site. read more

It was 107 outside when I came home and as I pulled into the driveway, I could tell by the sound of our AC something was a miss. I went and checked the thermostat and there was the evidence. I called Sala and a 90 later, they were at the house. Alex was very thorough and timely. For a call so late in the day I thought they were well priced. It's my second experience with them and will definitely be calling again. Thanks again Alex for the great job. read more

Hi Jon, Thanks to you and your guys for working late so to have our a/c up and running. The family in the duplex deeply appreciate your sacrifice and you "squeezing them in". Please pass this on to David and Ivan. Above is my note to Jon Sala. I found the business on YELP, called, he was out the next day. Right away they thoroughly cleaned the outside a/c as it was filthy. He recommended doing it every thirty days and weekly when 100 degrees outside. I recommend you doing this before they arrive! After taking readings, they went into the attic and found a defective valve. They were out the next day to install, even though they were slammed with appointments. They arrived near 6PM and got it done! read more

Called Sala Air on a Thursday afternoon and got a return call by Friday morning. I called about a problem my elderly parents were having with the AC unit. I spoke to both brothers and they were very kind and accommodating. The explained the options and even offered low cost temporary fix since my parents are in a budget and just to get them by. What surprised me is that they even called the week after to follow up on the initial call. We didn't get the work done because my parents had another unexpected urgent priority they had to fix that could not wait. The AC unit that was having the problem was in an unused part of the house( second floor). Sala air really tried to help even before they saw any payment and I didn't feel it was a sales pitch. I highly recommend Sala Air read more

With 3 older model a/c units in our house, we've had our fair share of experience with A/C companies, and we are so glad we finally found Sala. I had an appointment with Sala on Sept.28 at 8:30a.m.The serviceman arrived about 9:40 but the office did call and tell me he was running about 15 minutes late.He was efficient and professional, removed the blower motor cleaned it out and tested the capacitor and said mine was not putting out what it was supposed to so I had him to replace it.all of this within 30-40 minutes.I was aware of the $75.00 service fee and I knew the capacitor was not free but $88.00 to zip tie it on....really.As we were standing there settling up the unit made the noise I had called about and he told me it was my blower motor. He said he did not have one and he would get the number and the office would be in touch, well that was Sept.28 and today is Oct.6 and no word.I guess they had to have one built. But seriously i don't think i could afford to have it installed nor want to. read more

Honestly I have never heard of Sala before. I've been a homeowner for about 15 years. In that time I have had an issue or two with my air conditioning and heating. Though I have used different air conditioning/ heating companies in the past, I have never felt fully comfortable with any of them. Sala however, changed all that. When my air went out I called them up and they were able to come on that same day. They gave me a quote which was literally half of what of what I was expecting. Their courtesy and professionalism was unlike anything I had experienced with a AC/heating company before. Jesus and Alex were quick and thorough and knew exactly what they were doing. They were top notch professionals who explained in detail what the problem was and everything that they were going to do to fix it. Thanks to John and all the fine folks over there at Sala air. Now just because my repair was relatively inexpensive doesn't mean that's yours will be based on your equipment and the problems that you are having. But you can sure bet that they will find the most inexpensive way to fix it without compromising the integrity of their work. And that's worth a lot. read more

We were exceptionally pleased with Sala A/C and the two men, Tim and Mark, who came to repair and replace a portion of our duct work under our house. We called another AC company several times and they never called back. We found out later that they do not go under the house! In the mean time we called our American Home Shield and they denied coverage. We needed the work done. Tim diagnosed our problem. Tim and Mark replaced a portion of our duct work under the house. They were professional, courteous and got the job done. We highly recommend Sala. They explained everything they were going to do and took pictures of the broken ducts so we could see the damage. They recommended the flex duct, that could be attached to our old hard duct work. This saved us money and was a good solution for the long line that had to be replaced. Thank you Sala A/C! read more
