*3.5 Stars* First time having hibachi in years. Waited 15 minutes for a spot, even after reserving the time spot ahead of time. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying. Service was friendly and the hibachi chef was pleasant. Not a big fan of getting refrigerated fried rice flung at your face, but I guess it's part of the experience. Not so tasty if you actually get it in your mouth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hibachi show was okay, nothing crazy. The standard tossing and cracking egg on the spatula, along with the volcano onion. It was only the 4 of us, so maybe that's why there were less theatrics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was well seasoned and portions were large. Definitely enough food for two meals. I opted for the chicken and steak. We got a few shrimps tossed into the mix as well. Fried rice and veggies were good. Pricing is to be expected. Not sure how much it is elsewhere, but expect to pay $40-50 for a two protein combination. Maybe around $30 for one protein. Overall hibachi experience was positive. Food taste and service were good. The wait and lack of additional hibachi "theatrics" were a bit of a let down.

Well this was the best hibachi I ever had. Not only did it taste amazing the experience was great too. There was a great show by the Chef but a classy show; none of the weird gimmicky alcohol squirting etc. The portions were so generous we had dinner for the following evening.

This place is definitely a hit or miss. My recent visit here was disappointing. Service was great but our filet mignon and veggies were so bland & the rice had big chunks of onion in it. I don't eat rice but the rest of my party did and they were very disappointed. Sadly, I don't think I will be returning. I left the restaurant hungry.

Hana Roll (substituted the tuna with salmon) and Viper Hand Roll

Came here on Sunday around 1pm and the place was packed with happy customers. I was very impressed by how quickly our food arrived. We started our meal with hot and sour soup which was delicious and came with huge tofu slices. We ordered the Hana Roll which normally comes with tuna but were able to substitute it with salmon. We also got a Viper Hand Roll and Udon Soup. Everything was so good and I have discovered my favorite roll is the Hana Roll as it comes packed with spicy salmon, avocado eel sauce and spicy mayo. The udon soup came in a massive bowl and was very flavorful. It came with an egg, beef and veggies. Overall this was a very enjoyable meal and the staff were friendly. Despite the place being packed, it wasn't noisy inside and we could hear each other's conversations. Lots of nice interior decorations. Highly recommend coming here!!

Visiting Rochester from San Diego we are staying in a hotel just a couple of doors down from Sakura and went there for the convenience. After trying to figure out how to get into the place (they are splitting a single restaurant up into Japanese and Chinese side - at least that is what it looked like), we get into a very empty restaurant and faced with the question if we had a reservation, then do we want Japanese, Hibachi, Sushi, or Chinese... it's one place. Give us a couple of menus... When we get the menus, holy cow, this place is expensive, much more expensive than many places in San Diego - this is Rochester, not San Diego. The food was ok, just ok, not great, not outstanding, certainly not worth the prices on those menus. The service was ok, just ok, not great, not outstanding, certainly not worth the prices on those menus. All in all, the two things that worked was the decor - nice, and the fact that you could actually order more than one Asian cuisine. I know there are better places in Rochester - and more affordable ones. Next time I will make the effort to go to one of them.

Angry Dragon and Dick Ide Rolls

Service was horrible, food was great. Our server was very rude, just asking "ready?" 3 times or when she walked over. There were two menus and we were only given one and when asking about certain dishes she would just point to the menu. We both ordered different sakes and she just brought one. Didn't clear dirty dishes to table. Crab wontons, dick ide roll and angry dragon roll were fantastic. Super pricy but I'd say worth it. fortune cookies were very stale and the fortune was cut in half. maybe saving on paper - idk. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere was nice but kinda dirty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Can't remember the name of the rolls, but I remember they cost up near $20 each.

It's slim pickings when it comes to hibachi tables in Rochester so we decided on Sakura Home since we haven't visited in a long time. The interior has not changed. There is a Chinese restaurant adjacent to them with the same owner. You are able to order both cuisines in either restaurant, just ask for the menu. It seems like the sushi is more expensive than I remembered it to be. Special rolls vary between $15 - $19 each. The hibachi is expensive as well, however, the portions were huge. They packed our plates, enough that I could have lunch the next day (salmon hibachi). Food was cooked well, chef was cool, and they still have the birthday gong!

The space is cozy and inviting, with booths wrapped around the conveyor belt so you can immediately start eyeing the plates gliding by. The sushi on the belt was fresh and tasty, though we noticed the selection leaned a bit heavily toward spicy‑mayo‑based rolls. Everything we tried was delicious, but we would have loved to see a little more variety for those who prefer something less saucy. Thankfully, the touchscreen ordering system made it easy to branch out. You can order drinks and à la carte sushi directly from the screen, and your items arrive on a dedicated upper‑deck conveyor that zips your order straight to your table. It's a clever setup and really helps round out the meal with more options. Drinks were delivered by an adorable robot, which added a fun, whimsical touch. Tables were cleared promptly, and the whole experience felt smooth and well‑run. We had a great time and will definitely be returning.

You are seated at a tablet in front of a conveyor belt with the sushi making it's way around the restaurant. You can take whatever catches your eye as it passes in front of you, or you can order from the tablet. If you order from the tablet, little cars bring the food on a second, higher conveyor belt above the first one, or sometimes a robot brings it to your seat. So there are 2 moving belts, robots, and servers. It's a lot! Fun, but be aware. It is cool that you can see things moving past and try different things. The plates on the belt are also less than a full order, which means you can try more things, if that's your style. Service is pretty quick since you're helping yourself from the belt. They do a good job making sure there is a variety of items on the belt and seemed to restock pretty quickly. You can mostly chose from rolls and nigiri. I do like American style rolls, and enjoyed the options. The guy prefers nigiri. We ordered some tempura and picked some nigiri from the menu as well. I really enjoyed the veggie tempura. They have good salmon - we tried the peppered salmon, which he thought was too much, but was smokey and peppery, and I enjoyed. There was also a spicy yellowtail, and plain salmon that was also nice quality. We shared an ice cream sundae with one of the little fish shaped cakes for dessert, which was really good. I liked the little cake with the red bean paste inside. It was fun and pretty low key.

From the moment we sat down at a high-top along the bar (10/10 decision upon making the reservation), everything just clicked: warm ambiance, buzzing energy, and service that was genuinely friendly without feeling scripted or rushed. The staff made us feel like they were happy we were there--not just doing their jobs. Now let's talk food, because wow. We kicked things off with the Wagyu tartare (luxurious, balanced, melt-in-your-mouth) and duck croquettes (crispy and well balanced). For mains, my son went with the 24 oz prime bone-in ribeye, and I ordered the 14 oz New York strip--both cooked exactly how steak should be cooked. Perfect temperature, beautiful sear, deeply flavorful. Sides were shared and spectacular: roasted thyme mushrooms, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach--which may very well be the best on the planet (I will die on this hill). In the spirit of full honesty, when we come back (and we absolutely will), the two items we'd rotate out just to try something new would be the duck croquettes and the potatoes au gratin. Both were very good, but everything else we ordered--and clearly much of what's still on the menu--has an even higher ceiling of potential, and we're eager to explore it. Dessert sealed the deal. My son demolished a crème brûlée with appropriate birthday enthusiasm, while I tackled the caramel carrot cake, which was decadent in all the right ways and not overly sweet. In short: food, service, and ambiance all exceeded expectations--by a lot. If you've never been here: go. If you go occasionally: go more often. This wasn't just dinner--it was a celebration done right. We'll absolutely be back. Note: while their classic steakhouse menu, with some pizzazz, is perfect... My only want for this place would be for another appetizer selection or two that does not contain any sort of fish/seafood as we have family members with sensitivity - and we were hesitant to order the famous house made chicken nuggets with caviar as we are still finding out the range of foods we need to steer away from.

I ordered the fresh cut for my cocktail and the steak frites for my entree. While I waited for my entree, I was served a complimentary roll. It was soft and pillowy.
