Scallop and shrimp teriyaki add chicken...i requested no vegetables
    Shaun L.

I ordered scallop and shrimp teriyaki and added $2 worth of chicken, NO VEGETABLES. Over $17! Check out the picture of what I received. Then when I called they asked if I can just take them out myself. I told them no and wanted to bring it back. I was welcomed back to a bit of an attitude and who knows what else. Do yourself a favor and take heed to these reviews. Don't patronize this spot

Okay. If you're in a hurry, here's the skinny on Sakura Express (SE): thumbs up on their Sakura Special (SS), but skip the sushi. If you have time, here's my slightly longer review... We are regulars at Little Caesars next door, and when I spotted a new sushi restaurant opening up, my oldest was excited. We decided to check it out yesterday. The interior is nice and clean, with several tables. You order at the counter, pay, and then wait until they call you. SE is fast food, but it definitely took a bit longer than most--maybe 15 to 20 minutes. The service was friendly, and it was fun to watch the cooks prepare the food. California Roll- These were mediocre with way too much cucumber, overpowering everything else in the roll. 3* Spicy Shrimp Roll- My oldest ordered these and he said the filling was mushy and indescribable with an odd flavor--not very spicy, either. 2* Miso Soup- Does anyone else think that miso soup tastes like ham? Maybe it's just me. SE's miso was decent, although my oldest felt it needed some salt. 3.5* Sakura Special Teriyaki Style with Chicken- This is the best thing on their menu. The SS comes with protein (chicken, steak, tilapia, shrimp, scallops, salmon, and combinations), fried rice, carrots and your choice of Hibachi Style (mushrooms and zucchini) or Teriyaki Style (broccoli and zucchini). It comes in regular or large and the regular is a nice, large portion. Everything tasted fresh, especially the vegetables! 4* We all agreed that we will return for the Special, but skip the sushi. The SS are a great value, tasty, and fairly healthy--a nice change from fast food.

Tucked in the middle of a busy strip mall, Sakura Express offers teriyaki, hibachi, and sushi on a fast food scale. Help yourself to beverages. The restaurant is clean and service is ok. My husband and I ordered two of the same- chicken and steak teriyaki. A little light on the protein but the veggies were fresh. The peas in the rice lost their color. Overall with it being fast food it was ok.

The sushi here is excellent. I have been here several times and have always had good food. My only suggestion would be having people taking orders that are a little more friendly and personable. That is that only reason I gave four stars.

Steak and shrimp hibachi was amazing this is the large and I've already eaten out of it! Leftovers!:-)

I ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea with Jelly Boba, Volcano Roll and Chicken Hibachi bowl. The server was very courteous and was concerned that I wouldn't like the Milk Tea (she has had a lot of complaints). She brought me both the milk tea and a Jasmine Honey Lemon. I actually realllllly liked the Milk Tea-a great Matcha flavor and the jelly was great. The Volcano roll was different with a thicker crust-I actually thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was unique. When the Chicken Hibachi Bowl came out I was a little confused-not really the "normal Hibachi" I was expecting. The chicken looked like they kind of pre-prep it and then use a sauce to flavor. I am used to a butter/soy flavor with Yum Yum and Ginger sauce-they provided a Yum Yum like sauce, but no Ginger. The chicken was rubbery and flavorless and I am afraid it may have been microwaved. I am giving them 3 stars-FOR NOW. I am hoping that now that they are no longer carryout only, they may be able to expand how they make their food and I will try it again later.

Subtotal for our meal was 71 dollars and our total was 96 due to "service fee", 3% card fee and taxes. 13 dollar service fee btw. It was a party of 3. Waiter did not write down our order and my plate came out with white rice instead of fried rice. Me and my partner switched plates because he didn't mind white rice. Door bell ringing constantly.

We eat here all the time. It is always clean, quiet and friendly service…read more I lived in Japan for 10 years. So, I have had my fair share of sushi. This is a fantastic restaurant. The quality is fantastic, and the price is very reasonable. We can grab an obento here--at better quality and more generous--than at Kroger. I shouldn't say that. I don't really want them to raise their prices...but this is by far the best place to get sushi. We don't go anywhere else anymore. Trust me.

My family picked up three sushi rolls and some other items for dinner on an overnight trip through…read morethe area and unfortunately were so unhappy with the food we were unable to finish multiple items. My husband (who eats everything) couldn't eat more than one piece of his Alaskan roll because it tasted so off, and the oshinko roll was unpleasant in texture and had an off-putting shellfish aftertaste. The rice & noodle dish we ordered were both quite dry, and the noodles somehow tasted like cup of noodles. Unfortunately I think this was the worst sushi/asian food I've ever had. Additionally, the customer service was terrible! Our food was marked ready for pickup 15-20 mins before we had requested it, so it wasn't as fresh as it should've been when we picked it up which should've been the first bad sign. When I called expressing disappointment in the food, I was told we could come in for a replacement (not interested since we aren't local), could get a refund via door dash (don't have door dash) and then heard a heavy sigh before being told we had to bring all the food we were unhappy with back to the store to receive a refund. We certainly do have the food, but it's not worth the time to take it back in. Unfortunately my family is left hungry, disappointed, and with headaches/stomachaches from the poor quality & excess sodium from what we did eat. As someone who has worked a decade in food service, I'm so disappointed in my entire experience here.
