Yummy yummy chicken 1. Chicken Teriyaki

Many stores in this shopping mall have closed down. I didn't come here for shopping or strolling. I just came to have this meal. Every time I order here, the food is fresh. I really enjoy it. I hope this restaurant will always stay open.

Super convenient place for a quick meal. Prices are very reasonable for the amount they give, and the teriyaki chicken isn't exceedingly sweet but just perfect. Always on point frfr

The chicken was very tasty and I got the sushi as well and was pleasantly surprised of the quality especially from a food court mall. It's nice for a quick easy tasty bite of food.

My favorite place! Teriyaki chicken and beef, vegetables and fried rice topped with yum yum sauce!

Being from the south and never hearing about this restaurant before, I instantly fell in love with this. It's located inside of Chesapeake square mall. The food has great taste. No need for that extra sprinkle of salt and pepper. Everything cooked to perfection! I'll probably eat this s*** everyday now! Lol

First time trying this place, we got the chicken teriyaki and we'll we were disappointed, while the chicken is good, the portion was very small, we ordered for pick up and once we got home and opened it the rice fills the container 90%, veggies are 6%, and chicken is only 4%. We got one without veggies and that one looked that same with the chicken. At this time they're closing at 6pm and we ordered at 530. Idk if the closing time has anything to do with the portion sizing but for 9 dollars we spent on each of these tonight, we'll probably travel to Virginia Beach from now on.

Its almost impossible to walk through the food court of this mall and not have some Yummy Yummy chicken! Sometimes I'm not even hungry but they'll be giving out free samples and the chicken is sooo good you have to get on line and order food. I came to the mall specifically for some Nori Japan. The lady giving out the free samples walked up to hand me a sample and of course I'm still going to take it even tho I'm halfway on line lol. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken with vegetables and fried rice. They make it right there in front of you and it's truly delicious. I dont know what kind of sauce they use but when they top the chicken off with it I already know I'm in for a treat. Great place to eat!!

    Nori packed as usual :)

I have been eating from Nori Japan for the last 5 years. There chicken teriyaki is amazing and juicy. I make a point of when stopping by when I am in the AREA, much less the mall.

After weeks upon weeks of driving by and saying to myself that I need to check this place out, I…read morefinally checked it out. Hibachi and Sushi Express is located where the Quiznos used to be on Western Branch Blvd. If you don't recall there ever being a Quiznos, then Hibachi and Sushi Express is located across the street from WaWa and the Toyota Dealer right next to the Farm Fresh. This place is just like something you would find at the mall. They have a pretty wide selection of sushi and the traditional hibachi fare. I ordered the hibachi chicken with white rice (you have a choice of white or fried). It was made to order on their handy dandy hibachi grill behind the counter. I was kicking myself for not getting the teriyaki though - lesson learned. The chicken was a bit dry in my opinion. Thus I was disappointed. The mall has better chicken then what I had here and I really REALLY wanted to like this place. Needless to say, I would like to give them another try and sample the sushi. The white rice and stir fry veggies were pretty standard. The saving grace was the yum yum sauce. Signed, Disappointed but hopeful.

This restaurant has THE freshest fish in the area! The Crispy California Roll, Seaweed Salad Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Yellowtail Roll are some of our favorites! They have a wonderful lunch special too--2 rolls for $7.99 and/or can add a third roll for $2.99. The fresh fish will no doubt exceed any sushi connoisseur's expectations. You will NOT be disappointed after eating here. DO IT !!!

This is a solid restaurant!…read more I can't give it five stars because this is not amazing enough to put ahead of others that are my absolute favorite but the few times that we've visited here within the past year and this year it's never busy so there's always a seat for us. The cooks are pretty much uniformed while there is some more interactive than others which is fine especially when I come and I'm hungry I don't like a lot of playing here and there especially when it comes to the rice give me all the rice ASAP:) This is a decent spot if you like Hibachi I believe they have sushi as well that's made fresh. My only side... When you walk in you smell an overwhelming scent of grease/oil in the air. I don't know if it's from the carpet that should be replaced or removed or a better ventilation system is necessary but if you can get past the smell then you should have a great experience. The food is good and you do get a lot! Our last visit we definitely had food to bring home so no complaints there. Plenty of parking as it's located in a shopping center so even if you finish eating and want to walk or continue your night... You can browse around to other shops... Dollar Tree within walking distance or decide to have drinks at the bar located either at the Outback or AJ Gators both within walking distance. Try them out if you're in the area! Have fun and enjoy life :)

We enjoyed watching him. I had the chicken hibachi. In my opinion, there was not much flavor. Everyone else had the shrimp and scallop hibachi. No complaints except some of the scallops were more chewy and didn't have a nice sear. My cucumber avocado roll was nice and fresh. The soup and salad were flavorful and fresh. Not bad for the price. Keep in mind, there is an 18% service fee. FOR ANY SIZE GROUP. The place is a bit outdated. I'd eat there again , probably. But not a place I'm excited to go back for more.

SKIP Kotobuki in Norfolk - Worst Sushi Experience EVER…read more Kotobuki in Ghent is a disaster. I gave this long-running spot a second chance, after a poor first experience, and it was a mistake. A friend insisted we return, and the service was shockingly bad, the sushi was subpar and the overall experience was the worst. From the moment you walk in, Kotobuki screams neglect: dead plants, servers dressed like they're doing yard work and a pervasive smell of old fry oil. We had reservations for the "traditional Japanese" sunken-table room, where we removed our shoes and climbed into our seats. One dirty pair of slippers sat at our table, while a random pair of construction boots lay abandoned nearby. The "ambiance" was completed by 70s soft rock -- Lionel Richie instead of "traditional Japanese" music. Our server took my order for a dirty Stoli martini, then disappeared for an absurd amount of time only to return and say they couldn't make it -- with no explanation. We hunted through the limited menu while our server vanished completely. The owner eventually stopped by, and I had to specifically request a sushi list. Tired of sitting cross-legged, I briefly put my feet into the pit under the table. Rather than place my bare feet on the filthy floor, I slipped my shoes back on for a moment. That's when the owner's daughter stormed over and aggressively accused me of saying, "Screw you and screw Kotobuki -- I'm not following the rules!" She launched into a rude, insulting lecture about "Japanese custom" while I sat there stunned. I immediately took my shoes off again, just to de-escalate, but the evening was ruined. No customer should be verbally assaulted over something as basic as not wanting bare feet on an obviously dirty floor. In an awkward position, not wanting to ruin the evening, I ordered my food. The sake was watery and flavorless, the house salad was sad, wilted iceberg lettuce drowning in bottled ginger dressing, and the sushi arrived lukewarm with questionable rice that called for a palate blinding amount of wasabi. It was boring, poorly prepared, and far below average. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Hand to God! Had this not been a special evening with a dear friend, I would have walked out the second the owner's daughter chastised me at the table. Management at Kotobuki clearly doesn't care about customer service or basic standards -- especially when family members are allowed to treat patrons this way. "Japanese tradition" doesn't excuse poor hygiene, rude staff or substandard food. In America, we have health codes for a reason. If you want decent sushi in Norfolk, go literally anywhere else. Kotobuki is just a lazy dive. There's nothing special on the menu, very little sushi selection and nobody seems to care. If you choose to ignore this warning, lower your expectations folks, you are about to be disappointed. The only thing good about this restaurant, is the opportunity to tell you how much it sucked.
