Beyond expectation on great services, freshness & decent amount of foods. Cute decor with Sakura & Japanese style decor. Will definitely came back for more. It is not only a sushi in the residential area, but an affordable options sushi with delicious sushi & friendly staffs.

The food was super tasty and came out hot and fresh! My partner and I came for lunch and it was affordable and a good portion size. The restaurant was clean and nice. The staff were great. The gentleman at the counter greeted us when we came in, brought our food, and anything else we needed. Would definitely recommend. We will be back!

Gyoza (pot stickers)

If you're looking for authentic Korean/Japanese food, especially Korean-style ramen look no further! This spot is perfect for anything from a casual lunch with coworkers or clients to dinner with family, friends, or even a date night. It's a clean, cozy hole-in-the-wall that consistently delivers a great meal. I've tried several items on the menu, and my favorites are the gyoza (potstickers), pork egg rolls, beef ramen, and the Super Bowl (beef & chicken with veggies over rice). Everything is flavorful, fresh, and hits the spot every time. One thing to know: you order before you sit down. There's a TV menu on the right when you walk in, along with daily specials on a chalkboard. Just order, pay, grab a seat, and enjoy. With the unpredictable April weather, this is the perfect place to warm up with a bowl of ramen whether you like it spicy or mild. The family that runs this place is incredibly friendly, patient, and always willing to help if it's your first time. Their customer service is top-tier. Definitely a go-to spot for ramen and Asian cuisine cravings!

Such a sweet little place. We got the Beef Ramen, Miso Udon, and Salmon Bento. All were great, simple meals but very tasty and filling.

We stopped for dinner on weekday night and were the only customers eating there. The shop is run by a super nice couple who was very attentive. I ended up trying their Beef Hot Pot tofu stew. I think I just had more expectations that it would be more like the other tofu stews I have tried. The tofu used was firm tofu instead of silken and the broth seemed more savory, almost like a ramen broth instead of being lighter. I would consider coming back again but maybe trying another dish.

Oh wow, a small charming mom & pop shop that has really good comfort food. Really friendly service and hot piping fresh made dishes. A nice find!

I have enjoyed eating at Sakura for many years. First, the owners are wonderful. I love seeing a couple run a restaurant all by themselves. Then, the food has been great! My favorite is the katsu chicken bento box or the bibimbap. You can't go wrong with those. I had the ramen tonight for the first time and thought it was very good. Try this out!!

Family owned, very warm and inviting. Bento and ramen is packed with flavor and the broth is among the best around. They are understaffed, so please be kind and patient but like others, we were willing to wait.

We came here for Valentine's dinner and it's really good food for a cheap prices however theres no table service, you order at the counter and then they'll bring it out later. They also don't Serve alcohol. Anyway all food was good so no complaints.

The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and the sushi is consistently fresh and delicious. Some of my absolute favorites are the Asaka Roll, Creamy Maguro Roll, Thanksgiving Roll, Bluefin Tuna Tataki Roll, Pork Gyoza, and miso soup. Their fried rice is also AMAZING! Honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit on a weekend night. It's a smaller restaurant, and the wait times can get pretty long, but it's absolutely worth it! Part of me wants to keep this place a hidden gem, but everyone deserves to know just how amazing Asaka is! If you love sushi, this place is a must-try. Easily one of my favorite restaurants, and I'll continue coming back again and again!

They forgot our unagi and we had to remind them. It wasn't a big deal but definitely remember what you've ordered. When they get really busy, they might miss it

The service during lunch was extremely slow, even though the restaurant really was not that busy at the time. It felt difficult to get checked on or get simple things in a timely manner. Mentioned to two different waiters that my husband was still waiting on his Arnold Palmer and at end of the meal still never got it and we still had to remind them to remove it from our bill at the end. The biggest issue for me was the albacore sashimi that day. It did not taste very fresh, and when I politely mentioned it to the waiter, instead of acknowledging that fish can occasionally be off or nearing the end of freshness, he responded in a somewhat condescending way explaining that albacore "just tastes different" than other fish. As someone who eats sushi regularly, I understand the difference in flavor profiles between fish -- this tasted more like it may have been on its way out. Not a terrible experience overall, but definitely not one that matched the level of service or quality I was hoping for.

The restaurant is casual but has classy vibes with extras on finishes. Obviously well kept and very clean. The server was also very patient, attentive, and on top of things as we had a large group and had some late joiners after the initial group had ordered. Sushi was good but it was a pretty expensive lunch for my standards. I ordered the Foxy Lady Roll ($20) and a California Roll ($8). The Foxy Lady was a good order from the specialty rolls if you like spicy salmon and some heat with your rolls. Having tempura or some crunchy element would have set this roll up in my mind but I'm a picky Americanized sushi eater. California Roll was just a control group for me on this visit- pretty average.

Naturally, when we came across Makizushico, we knew we needed to give it a try. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, and our server was incredibly kind. I will note that this place was BUSY. There was quite a wait, and we were fortunate enough to snag a seat, so I would definitely keep that in mind when planning a visit. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Tuna Roll, and Rock N Roll. Spicy Tuna Roll (6/10) - While the flavor was delicious and the presentation was beautiful, it still wasn't quite the spicy tuna roll we've been searching for. I enjoy a spicy tuna roll that really carries some heat alongside the flavor, and this one leaned a bit more toward the subtle side for my preference. Rock N Roll (5/10) - The ingredients were fresh, which I appreciated, but I found myself wanting quite a bit more flavor from this roll. It wasn't necessarily bad, just not something that stood out to me. Tuna Roll (8/10) - A good take on a classic tuna roll. The fish was fresh, and the overall execution was good. Nothing overly complicated, but certainly enjoyable. Overall, the quality of the ingredients was evident, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. While we are still on our quest for the perfect spicy tuna roll, I wouldn't mind returning and exploring a few other options.

I will definitely come here again! I do recommend making reservations bc I have tried to come here without one and was turned away bc they were completely booked. However, on the night I dined here (a Saturday night) they did have quite a few empty and available tables.

That's a pretty strong endorsement. Also the interior of the restaurant was fairly modern and clean. For anyone unfamiliar with it, soondae (순대) is a traditional Korean blood sausage made by stuffing pork or beef intestines with a mixture of blood, glass noodles, rice or starch, and seasonings. It's one of Korea's most popular street foods and is typically enjoyed with salt or a dipping sauce. One thing to know before you go: this restaurant specializes in soup-based dishes. Every entrée revolves around soup, including the bulgogi. I had never seen bulgogi served in a broth before, so it was a pleasant surprise for both my boyfriend and me. Most of the soups also included clear glass noodles and came in a wide variety of combinations, so there were plenty of options to choose from. One detail I really appreciated was their takeout packaging. If you have leftovers, they use a professional heat-sealing machine that applies a thin plastic seal over the container before the lid goes on. It's a thoughtful touch that keeps the soup leak-proof and makes transporting leftovers much easier. If you're craving authentic Korean comfort food--especially soondae soup--this place is definitely worth a visit.
