Great little place . The sushi bar is closed since Covid, so you can only order the Susuhi to your table. Quality is good. Some of the portions are a nice size, and the some are too small. With tapestry on the wall that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time as well as it's vintage sushi bar where you can see your fresh sushi being made right in front of you. My baked scallop roll was burnt on top :( I don't know how but they somehow made it taste and smell like sausage. Impressed but not what I ordered. Presentation wasn't nice either. Looked like my 6 year old cousin threw it all together on a plate. My friend's ichi roll was the bad kind of chewy and the avocados were sort of bruised. On the bright side, beer is half off. I do like this place. The food is cheap and it's not of bad quality. The only problem I have is that the orders can take a very long time to come out. We ordered our boat and the rolls came out first. Then we see everyone else getting their food while we are still waiting on the rest of ours (note the boat is one order. Not multiple orders). It's been 40 min now and we're still waiting. I get really excited every time the server walks down with a plate of food only to get disappointed when she walks past us. -_- Edit- OK. Each and every one of their rolls is big and bursting with flavor. Every time we eat here, we inevitably start talking about how delicious the meal is. The staff are incredibly kind and happy to accommodate you in any way you need. Come here a few times and they start to greet you like an old friend. They keep the food ready to be brought to the tables on a side cart that is also used to store all the water/utensils/Togo boxes . Felt kind of unsanitary. There was a plate of fried food sitting on the cart and I saw the female server take a piece, dip in sauce, then ducked behind the curtain to eat it. I came in to grab a quick bite to eat. We ordered the Spicy Scallop Roll (which was alright), Teriyaki Beef Bowl (which sucked), $5.95 for a seaweed salad and a Chiroshi Bowl. It's sushi people and there was only 1 patron at the time. It took 24 minutes for me to get the Chiroshi bowl but only because I rushed them and had to leave. I found out why it took so long. I have been coming to Sake Sushi for years, as it is close to my school and is both tasty and reasonably priced. However, the past several times I have gone, I've been treated like a second class customer. So much so in fact that I felt compelled to write this review when I do not review often. I went into Sake Sushi last thursday for lunch and took a seat at an unoccupied table. A woman who I believe to be the owner approached me and dropped a menu at my table without saying anything at all. That would have been fine, if she hadnt returned 2 minutes later to tell me (not ask me) to move to the sushi bar so she could seat a couple at my table. I was a bit surprised but moved without issue. She then returned to ask me to move a second time to a seat further down the bar, which at the time of my seating had been occupied by a haphazard pile of clipboards. Surprised at being moved a second time, I still did so. After eating my meal, I requested to split my 11.50 bill onto two cards, which I understand is somewhat inconvenient. She replied that each card had to have 5 dollars on it and she couldnt do it. I was very frustrated and just paid with one card so I could leave. I had an even more frustrating experience today. I went in for lunch and was seated at a table by myself. The same woman gave me a menu, silent as ever. I selected the sushi I wanted within a minute or so, and waited for a staff member to return to take my order. I patiently waited as I watched 2 tables be seated and their orders taken before anyone attended to me. A third party even came in and ordered take out before anyone came to take my order. After waiting 20 minutes and watching 3 larger parties have their orders placed before mine, I left. My order was never taken. STAY AWAY if the restaurant is busy. You will have a very poor experience. Both of these instances occurred during a busy lunch rush, and the staf is woefully unprepared to handle the floor if the restaurant is at all busy. read more
