Love the sushi here & party tray is always a hit for potlucks, just need to place your order at least 24-hrs in advance. Always reliable & fresh, people give you that look when you rave about Albertsons sushi, see for yourself. We love it here!

    Way too much rice

It's not very good. I decided to try it because of the reviews. Each roll is about 8 bucks. That's kinda what you'd get at a restaurant. Also, pretty skimpy on the fish and too much rice. It tasted reasonably fresh. To be fair, the sushi is maybe a low 3 star but if you're comparing this to an actual restaurant it's definitely a 2 star. I won't be coming back.

The Albertsons at Diamond Bar Blvd and Grand Ave has their own certified sushi chefs and super FRESH and DELICIOUS sushi! I was so impressed by their specialty rolls, especially their CRUNCHY DRAGON roll (shrimp tempura roll topped with spicy tuna) and the RAINBOW ROLL (cali roll topped with colorful sashimi). Yum! The prices are totally reasonable and the sushi is seriously TOP GRADE. It's just so convenient! Plus, since they're made fresh daily, you're guaranteed to get the freshest sushi and rolls. It's right by the deli section on the right side of the supermarket. Be sure to stop by!

not sure why people say not fresh? eating right outside of the market... on my way to a meeting... rice soft, good taste

can't believe I only just tried Kyala for the first time this year!!…read more I've been once for lunch and once for dinner happy hour time. The portions are perfect, and the service is amazing! I love the cozy intimate vibe, it's great for small groups or date night. my favorites have been the nigiri sushi (the lunch set is delicious), and the Kama karaage is cooked to perfection with a generous portion. I'll definitely be back soon~

I think I came in with too high of expectations given the reviews. I thought it was just ok…read more Definitely a good amount of food for the price, especially the bento combo, but I was not wowed. I still enjoyed my meal and the service was very friendly and attentive with my water getting refilled several times. The fried food was nice and lightly crispy. The salmon collar was tender and a large piece. The baked lobster roll was too sweet with too much mayo. The sashimi and California rolls left a lot to be desired. Maybe it's because these are just the items that came included in a combo, and maybe it's because I didn't order the right things...but I wasn't too impressed given all the reviews about how this is the best Japanese food that needs to be discovered. I may be too spoiled by the higher quality sushi in South OC but to me the quality is more of a 3.5...but I rounded up.

Super attentive making bang after bang amazing nigiri. We ordered so much, The nigiri quality honestly caught us off guard. Everything tasted insanely fresh and buttery and you can tell the fish quality speaks for itself & the sushi sizes wow!! We had toro, yellowtail, scallop, hamachi seared nigiri these especially melted immediately. One of those places where you accidentally keep ordering "just one more plate." Definitely worth sitting at the bar for the full experience & amazing ambiance and service. The list on their Special Menu is definitely a must have!! 1000/100

An updated review is looong overdue…read more Ojiya has been a family staple. This is our go to spot when we want miso sea bass. My go to order is their three item combo- chicken teriyaki (basic I know but I always pack it for lunch), miso sea bass (because it's absolute perfection), and their crunch roll (no avocado since I tend to eat it for dinner and detest brown avocado). So yes, I basically order this huge meal to spread it out into three meals. The up charge for the miso sea bass is worth it! Don't even think twice. The sea bass is packed with flavor and melts in your mouth. My go to salad dressing is their miso, it's pretty darn good. Service has improved a ton, though they do get busy so I tend to get there right at opening. I love that I still see the same servers from when I first came here a little over ten years ago. Ambiance is rather cozy and warm. I like that it's a nice, intimate restaurant. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend Ojiya!

I ordered their "Sushi and Sashimi Combination" from their Lunch Special menu which came with 6 pieces of sushi, sashimi and a half order of a tuna cut roll. The combination plate is very reasonably priced especially for the quality of fish which was fresh and delicious. The lunch special combo also comes with a bowl of miso soup and salad so you definitely get good value for the price. Service is standard, and there is a decent amount parking within the plaza.

I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at Makomae…read more We were seated for about 15 minutes and no one even brought us water. We tried waving at our server multiple times, but she just kept ignoring us. Meanwhile, other tables who were seated after us were already getting their drinks and food. There are only about 7 tables and 3 servers, so it really shouldn't be this difficult to at least serve water. I eventually had to walk to the kitchen myself just to ask for it. Even then, no one came to check on us for another 10 minutes. When the server finally took our order, we politely asked why it took so long and why other tables were being served before us. She completely ignored the question and didn't respond at all, the attitude was incredibly rude. This level of service is unacceptable. I will not be coming back.

Chino's hidden gem! Everyone go try Bengee Sushi!…read more We were in Chino over the weekend for some board games and randomly searched for a lunch spot nearby. Ended up at Bengee Sushi and... wow. Completely exceeded expectations. I honestly didn't know Chino had such solid Japanese food We both ordered their Lunch Specials -- around $25 each, which is such a great deal. Since I'm not a big tempura person, we skipped the bento boxes and went straight for the good stuff. We got one Chirashi Bowl, and the moment it came out we were shocked. So much sashimi! Thick cuts, super fresh, and none of that fishy leftover-trim vibe. The sushi rice underneath was really good too -- not overly sweet or sour, just balanced. The other dish we ordered was the Sashimi Lunch, and again, super generous portion with way more variety than I expected. No shortcuts, no skimping. It also comes with miso soup and salad, both clean and tasty. We added hot tea, which hit the spot on a colder day. That feeling of "randomly picking a place and accidentally finding a great spot" is honestly unmatched They also offer a $79 omakase, plus a more premium $135 one (reservation required). After seeing how generous they are with their lunch portions, I'm definitely coming back for that next time. In short: amazing value. If you love sashimi and find yourself in Chino, this place is absolutely worth the visit.

Dont miss it by pulling into the market plaza, but im sure you may park there. The place is small and not too busy when i visited. Before we even ordered, they quickly brought out complimentary salad, miso soup, and steamed edamame. What a nice surprise! Uni Rice Bowl was listed as market price but was very reasonably priced . It had about 4-5 pieces of uni, served in a very presentable sea urchin shell. It was light and very good. I can never pass up uni when it's on the menu! We also ordered some rolls, a variety of sushi , and toro sashimi. They do prepare sushi with a lot of rice, but I loved that they generously portion with large pieces of fish along with it. The fish was fresh and were great quality. Oh and free yummy green tea icecream to end our meal too!
