WOW! The portion was GOOOODD and the fish cuts were huge i kid you not! This moght be my new favorite poke spot that comes with miso soup! Bowl was pretty cheap at $15 for a 3 scoops. The servers were really sweet and were accommodating considering we came pretty late! I'd definitely come back!

A small poki place. From the outside it doesn't look like it's worth stopping by, but today I decided to stop by for lunch. The interior looks nice, I'll give you that. Cashier asked me to fill out the order form, then give her the order sheet. She wasn't warm and welcoming. Just matter of fact and not really friendly. Took 12 min for her to do my order. Salmon is delicious and fatty, how I wanted it. I had the 3 scoop bowl. It came with a small bowl of miso soup. With tax, it's about $15. Not sure I'll come again, there's better service else where.

Another good Poke Place around neighborhood. Located at the corner, same plaza with SF Supermarket and CVS. Same row with Baskin Robbins. Few regular tables and bar style table and stools. Plenty of seating area. Food are fresh. Good portion ratio and price. They offer some Filipino style Sisig, Spam Musubi, Salmon Taquitos/Egg Roll and Ramen. The fish cut was big. Not small bite size like most Poke places. Service was fast enough since we ordered thru paper. You write down what you want, gave to them and paid. They will make the order and deliver to your table like a diner. So minimal interaction behind the counter for the poke ingredients itself. Keep clean. Overall not bad for a fusion poke place.

I ordered 2 poke bowls. The fish is super fresh and everything was really tasty. My friend loved the poke bowl too. She ate her large poke bowl super fast. I was shocked to see how big the chunks of fish were, most places have smaller slices of fish. It's a really nice refreshing low carb dinner to help beat this summer heat.

This was my second time in I believe a week! So quick and friendly service. All items in my bowl were fresh and delicious. Great sauces and great sized portions. Plenty of indoor seating mix of standard tables and higher barstool type. Music playing but not loud and seems to be a local fave. Fish and chips is more of fish sticks and chips but it was still enjoyed.

BYO poke bowls with generous portions! My friend recommended to try out this spot, so we came on a weekday night, and there were a few people inside waiting for their orders. They have a variety of different foods on their menu but we opted for the poke bowls. There were so many ways to customize your bowl with the size (how many scoops of protein), protein options, sauces, sides, and toppings. You order on a sheet of paper, circling your choices, and hand it to the cashier. The downside is that their service is a bit slow versus other quick poke spots that make it for you on the spot. It took about 15-20 minutes for our order to come out. The food was pretty good with adequate amount of sauce, but the fish was decent nothing too special. I did enjoy the option to have a lot of different toppings! There's plenty of tables to eat inside, but I feel like most people take it to go. Overall, the food was good but service could be slow.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. This was my 2nd time eating from here and my 1st time was not memorable. When I got my poke bowl, the salmon had a very fishy taste. Then I realized I was missing a lot of items. I had my paper order on my tray and realized I was missing seaweed salad, cucumbers, onions, and imitation crab. They were circled on the paper so I did not understand how it got missed when my friend had her order correct. No apology from anyone. But they did add the missing items when I brought it back up to the counter. I see many people coming and going from here. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing.

I don't usually eat poke, but after having some over the weekend I wanted to see what some local joints had to offer. Pick a Poke made a decent bowl for me, full of spicy tuna, toasted garlic, green onions, and imitation crab. I don't know if it was the best bowl I've ever had. I'm not even sure how to judge what makes a good poke bowl. But it was satisfying, the manager or owner was nice, and I liked the space. You could tell the folks here take pride in their establishment and what they offer. And that's good enough for me.

Upon entering the cozy restaurant we were approached by a nice gentleman. We expressed to him it is our first time visiting the restaurant so he highly recommended the SALMON SISIG KUA-Pao ... First time trying this Salmon Sisig Kua-Pao .... Tasty Crispy Salmon skin heaping in deliciousness in a bao. Something i enjoyed eating with every bite! Also ordered the salmon taquitos which have salmon filling topped with lemon cream sauce, shredded cabbage and avocado slices. Will sure come back to try other menu.. For now my ultimate favorite is the Salmon Sisig!!!

    Looks great and healthy!

This place doesn't disappoint! If you go to a lot of poke places, the prices are quite expensive. This poke place, however, is more of an inexpensive option. They have slips for you to circle your bowl options, and it saves time. They have medium and large bowl options, but the large bowl is still an affordable option. You'll still end up paying about 5 dollars less than an average poke bowl. They also serve you a complimentary miso soup if you would like one. The workers here are super chill and nice people. The place is kind of small, but it's pretty clean. Don't miss your opportunity to get some good poke here.

I've been coming here ever since I moved in the area about 6 years ago, this has easily become my top poke spot. I don't think you'll find anywhere that gives 5 scoop bowls at this price point and it always hits. I mainly come for the poke so I can't say much about their other menu items however for it being a poke place and their poke being good I'd call that a win. The service is generally alright, when it's busy expect to spend a solid 15-20 minutes waiting for your food even if it's a single item. It's a pretty small spot but the ambiance is still nice. They always give a free side of miso soup with their poke bowls which I absolutely love, I can safely say I will always be coming back here. All positivity aside, I do have a word of advice though: Stay away from their salmon. Whether it's their regular salmon or spicy salmon, it does have a fishy and sometimes slimy appearance, not sure why it's just their salmon that is off, other than that this place smacks. I usually get 2 scoops tuna, 2 scoops albacore, and 1 scoop spicy tuna and make sure to drizzle that baby with the mayo lava and eel sauce mmmmmm

I've been going to Pick a Poke since they first opened almost eight years ago. The owners are so nice and friendly. We've tried many items on their menu over the years. Our favorites are the spicy miso ramen, chicken katsu, and the bento bowl. We are so happy that they're opening a second location at Amar and Azusa at the end of January. Sorry about the pics of our half-eaten food. We were hungry and totally forgot to take pics. Make sure to stop by if you are in the area!

In the way of ambience, they have seating inside basic tables, chairs, and tables. I do like the fact, they have two parking stalls if you're doing curbside pick up or just running in to pick up your order. It's enough to feed two people, and I can easily see it being an easy favorite for customers on a strict budget. Unfortunately, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) also serves mushy and gloopy rice. When I returned home, I dumped its old-tasting rice with black marking and lines into the trashcan. It's baffling how a business can mess up rice, but I attribute its poor rice quality and preparation as an attempt to save an extra buck. I arrived at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) on Tuesday (around 7:30PM). The location had a big fan, but its interior still felt humid and stuffy. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) reminded me of a casually cleaned warehouse as its cardboard boxes laid about. Staff is terse and prompt. Staff also speaks English and Spanish. Staff appeared burnt out and fatigued. I ordered the Chicken Katsu ($11.99). It includes chicken katsu, macaroni salad, and rice. The food arrived in seven minutes. Very fast! As mentioned, the food is very large. Its portions are gigantic! The chicken katsu came thick and crisp. I enjoyed the chicken katsu's crisp outside and soft chicken. Its crust faintly tasted buttery. I also loved the macaroni salad. This macaroni salad felt clean and peppery. Tasty! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the rice tasted old and mushy. It also had many black markings among its grains. Eventually, I tossed the rice into the trash can. Concerning ambiance, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an ugly location. Its outside looks worn down and poorly maintained. Although its interior has clean tables, the interior felt musty and humid. No music plays; rather, one lone flat screen television played aloud. Also, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) felt gloomy with its walls' fading colors and its lingering bits of dust. Overall, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is not awful. It serves big portions at affordable prices. The ambiance & service is barebones, but some of its food is prepared well. If on a strict budget, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Azusa Ave) is an option. 3.4 out of 5

TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

All the familiar Hawaiian items are here, and then some. They offer A LOT of different dishes, including a whole bunch of dim sum. And their beverage menu is extensive as well, from your basic teas to milk tea boba and slushies. It's pretty impressive how these folks are able to squeeze all this food in this tiny little restaurant. Decided to go with the dish that everyone who has been to Hawaii has eaten at some point: the loco moco. I thought it might be a good way to gauge how authentic their food is. Ordered a side of Portuguese sausage musubi as well. Yeah, I'm a pig. Loco Moco - 5/10: so yeah. This definitely isn't your traditional loco moco, or at least the dish that I grew up eating (808 born and raised). Two patties, mounds of rice, eggs (unfortunately served over hard...should always be over easy so the yolk comes out) side mac salad - check, check, check and check. But then they bury on the bottom of this dish a bunch of stir-fried veggies, which threw me off a bit. This dish ain't supposed to be somewhat healthy. And then they throw a very light brown sauce on it that definitely isn't gravy. More like a brown sauce you'd mix in with pan-fried noodles. Yeah, just not the way this dish is supposed to made. But at least they give you a lot of it! - Portuguese Spam Musubi - 7.5/10: this one was much better. All the elements were there, and yes, they used Portuguese sausages. Hard to screw up musubi, but believe me, it can be done. Two pieces come in an order and they're on the larger side. So yeah, a little disappointed. I will say though that if I'm in the area again, I might order some dim sum. Happy feasting!

When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating.
