Dragon Roll Salmon Roll

My best friend and I absolutely love Sake House. We have gone many many times, but I haven't written a review in years. It was a quiet Thursday evening and we were seated right away. Our server was absolutely amazing. She was kind, sweet and thoughtful. We ordered edamame to start off with along with drinks. We both ordered two rolls. I love that they continue to have their BOGO special. The sushi rolls are absolutely amazing, fresh and and so perfectly made. The combinations are a mouthful of flavor. I can't say enough about how good the sushi is. The service is always good and the ambiance is relaxing. If you don't like sushi, there's tons of other options on the menu, something for everyone.

They have fresh and flavorful sushi! Some of the best in the area. There's rarely a line, and the customer service continues to improve. Sake was hot and delicious! Bring a sweater because it's usually chilly inside.

Tried something new since Asian cuisine is our go to! This was such a great surprise! The menu is pretty big so take time and look at it before you go! Everything was hot, portions were large and staff was super friendly! We will be adding this to our rotation!

I went on a date here. They gave me raw meat instead of tuna on most of the rolls. In the picture, you can see the clear difference in color. The meat is a deep red color. I didn't even notice the color difference until my date pointed it out. It's disgusting to think that a restaurant is okay with disguising raw meat as seafood. Please beware of this restaurant. It's safe to say I did not feel well for the following days. Please be careful. Please I didn't feel comfortable with letting the waiter know. Since the restaurant was okay with serving me this, I was afraid of what they might do to the food behind closed doors in the kitchen. Consider going to another restaurant before taking your chances here

We have been coming to Sake House for years but since the pandemic we haven't been out to eat until today. I had the bento box, absolutely delicious. The customer service is always impeccable, ambiance and music is amazing.

After a nice hike at Durant Nature Trail, me and my date worked up an appetite and she suggested Sake House. I hadn't had sushi in a while so I was all for it. There's plenty of parking and it's definitely date worthy so you can't go wrong with this choice. Sake House offers BOGO sushi which I find so useful when you're eating out with someone else. Basically you order two rolls and pay for only one so that's a plus. Who doesn't want free food? I ordered Fried Calamari ($7.99) as an appetizer for us along with the Crazy Fire Roll ($15.99 with Salmon, jalapeno, mango, cream cheese, tempura style, topped w. eel sauce, honey wasabi sauce, crispy onion, masago & scallions). My date ordered the Ninja Roll ($15.99 with Spicy tuna & shrimp tempura, topped w. spicy crab meat, eel sauce & scallion). Everything was brought out together and I had no complaints. The calamari was superb. A tad bit salty but overall they were amazing when paired with this sauce that comes with it. I didn't get the name of it but it gives me sweet and salty vibes. Amazing sauce. I'll definitely have to ask the next time I go. Me and my date definitely tried each other's rolls so I was able to taste my Crazy Fire Rolls and her Ninja Rolls. The Ninja Rolls were better but I didn't let my Crazy Fire Rolls go to waste. I think the crispy onion, masago, & scallions kind of threw me off but the salmon jalapeño and cream cheese made up for it for sure. They overall roll was fried and I liked it for the most part. However, the Ninja Roll had me in love. They were spicy but not too spicy and the shrimp and crab meat was delicious. I also developed a new love for eel sauce and I now prefer it over soy sauce lol. Overall this was amazing experience and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend it to any sushi lover. They also adhere to all Covid protocols and the service is fast and friendly.

Ate here last night and it was delicious had 4 of the sushi rolls all were great and fresh! Volcano Roll Crab meat, avocado & cream cheese. Topped w. octopus, mayo, crab meat, fish eggs, eel sauce and scallion, then broiled. 5 Tiger Roll Tuna, salmon, white fish, mango and avocado wrapped in kombu seaweed. Topped w. spicy mayo, honey wasabi and salmon roe. 5 The other 2 were good also but these 2 were the best! Tyku Coconut Nigori sake was also excellent! Waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place especially after a few craft beers next door at The Hop Yard.

The place was clean and so were the menus. Unfortunately there weren't that many diverse options for sushi, my partner isn't a big fan of tuna and likes salmon but there weren't many salmon rolls. Mostly tuna and shrimp tempura rolls. We tried 3 rolls for 31, the 9 nigiri sampler, shrimp tempura and the salmon teriyaki bento. This wasn't our favorite sushi as all of the fish tasted very fishy and maybe not as fresh. The salmon in the bento was good though. We did not like the Subaru roll at all, extremely fishy and the daikon enhanced that flavor. We even tried squeezing lemon on our fish but it didn't help too much. The screaming o and piano were okay. The rolls also weren't rolled the best, especially the California. Completely fell apart when you picked it up. This wasn't a horrible experience and we ate everything but the Subaru but I probably wouldn't come back.

We also had the black cod which was nice and buttery. Didn't realize it came with two handheld pieces and one played piece. Nice surprise! Later I saw the actual restaurant is a bit small with a few tables and sushi bar so I'm thinking they have out grown their space and after eating the food I can understand how that happened. As mentioned it has a small footprint but we didn't wait long. Our server was very kind and provided excellent service. We started with the gyoza which were out of this world! They had the perfect char on the dumpling without making it too seared. The Sashimi plate was incredible, each piece of fish melted in your mouth. If I have to give one critique I'd say our yellow tail was still a little frozen but that didn't stop me from devouring it. Crispy Salmon Roll was light and refreshing and their Rainbow Roll was like no other I've had. My husband and I have two reference points when it comes to sushi; mine is Japan where I was introduced to it as a young Marine, his is Hawaii where had the most amazing sushi about 5 years ago. Not many places can compare to those experiences but Sushi Mon was VERY close!

So, a group of my friends and I have monthly dinners, and that particular month, we chose Waraji, which I have been to before and loved. I won't go into details about that particular night, but our experience was pretty bad (I think it was just a random off night). I have NEVER in my life called a restaurant to address a situation, but I just had to in this case. The manager was VERY validating and apologetic about our experience and offered another meal for all 9 of us fully compensated. I was NOT expecting this in the slightest, I was merely trying to bring it to the managers attention, but I was also very surprised and accepted the offer (because delicious sushi that is free? Of course). Let me tell you, our second experience was absolutely AMAZING!!!! TAI was our server and she was FABULOUS! So sweet and attentive. The food, as always was delicious! The sushi there was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. They even went above and beyond offering up a complimentary bottle of wine and an assortment and amazing desserts. We were all very impressed. Waraji has been and will be my go to spot for sushi in the Raleigh area! If you are looking for authentic sushi with good ambiance, check out Waraji!

I ordered the teriyaki chicken without onions and our server was so awesome that she let me know that the ginger dressing on my salad contained onions. She wanted to make sure I didn't have an allergy. How amazing?! The chicken teriyaki and the veggies it was served with were absolutely AMAZING! Seriously, IDK what they did to those veggies but this may have been the best meal I've ever had! They gave my husband a scoop of mango icecream with a candle in it for his birthday. Love that! We are looking forward to our next visit to Waraji.

The decor included dark wooden furniture, hardwood floors, door curtains for kitchen, and a ceiling lamp in the shape of a fish. On each table was a pale bottle with a small spout and a large stopper. This was for the black sauce, and the first time I have seen black sauce provided at tables in anything other than the small transparent bottle with double-spout cap. Next to the kitchen doorway was a black board announcing "What's New". The menu is printed on black-colored pages bound by black leather cover, which matched the black uniforms of the staff. I ordered my usual ramen: tonkotsu. It was served with a renge and a fork, the latter for those uncomfortable with using chopsticks. That didn't apply to me. I put the fork to the side and used the wooden chopsticks. The tonkotsu had three thick pieces of chasu, lots of menma slices, some kikurage strips, and a soft-boiled egg served in two halves. Though a little saltier than I would like, the broth was still delicious and complimented the food well, especially the chasu. It had a mild spiciness that caused slight irritation to my throat, but otherwise was worth consuming the entire bowl. It was about 11:10am when I arrived. Besides myself, there was one other party of two. The cocktail bar had two large TVs, one playing CNN and the other playing a sports program. The volume level was barely a whisper. Most of the time, I didn't hear anything. By 11:45am, two more parties of two showed up. The atmosphere was quiet the entire time, and definitely a great place to relax and enjoy a meal during lunch time. As I was leaving, I took a look at the outdoor dining area. It is housed in a patio next to the building. It has plenty of seating and is almost enclosed but for a cased doorway. I was impressed that TDLLO is accommodating to its customers during rain or shine (unlike Noodles Blvd in Cary). I will definitely come back to try a different ramen. Plenty of indoor and outdoor (sheltered) seating, plenty of parking, quiet atmosphere and good ramen, TDLLO Ramen & Sushi has my recommendation.
