Modern day sushi bar offering rolls, sushi and Sashimi as well as others entrees. The food is fresh. The tempura was of good quality. I try to avoid rice as much as possible, so I ordered the Bento box which had all of the above items I just mentioned. I did enjoy the whole meal. The restaurant was crowded so we sat at the bar. There was 8 of us and we were all together. Our server did a great job at severing our large group and at the bar. Thank you. I liked the various decorations in the restaurant. It was a nice experience. Thank you Mizu!

I took my son here for his 15th birthday celebration. This was our first time at Mizu. We split the sushi plate for 2. It came with soup salad, chef's choice of sushi and two additional rolls of our choosing. Everything was fresh and delicious and my son demolished what I couldn't eat. It was definitely well worth the price for two people. We would order the sushi plate for two again!

This is one my fav places to eat in the Wake Forest/Wakefield area to kick off the weekend after a strong week at work and in the gym. The sushi is consistently very good. My go-to's are the Midori Akuma (top of pic) and classic Spicy Tuna with hot green tea. Highly recommend!!

It's been 5 years since I wrote a review for Mizu, and it's still just as delicious and amazing as it was 5 years ago. They no longer do half price days. They have removed some of the yummy rolls from their menu and discontinued the train of sushi that ran around the bar, but the freshness and quality hasn't changed. The service is great, the food is amazing.

We come here all the time. It's our go to Sushi spot for this area and we always recommend this place if anyone asks us. I've never left disappointed. I really wish they were able to bring the Sushi Train back because it was the only place around this area that had it. The main reason I like the train is because you can try all kinds of rolls without getting the full roll which is really good for anyone just starting to eat sushi and even for experienced sushi eaters. I've never visited and it was dirty and we've always received great service. You can come as you are or dress up, there's a mix of everyone in between, just come! I would say very large groups will be easy but call ahead, it's not a huge place. On the weekend the wait is usually around 20-30 minutes and at peak time (5-6) it's taken 45-59 minutes for us before. We usually wait to go until after 6 to be seated just after the dinner rush. I usually try a new roll every time I go. My favorite roll is the Red Dragon (smoked salmon, avocado, tuna, cilantro, masago, jalapeño, spicy honey sauce). It has a nice kick to it but the spicy honey sauce finishes it up nicely. For a veggie roll or a flavorful refreshing roll, I'd recommend, try the Mr. Green too

I was impressed We happened upon the restaurant on accident because the other restaurant we were going to was very very busy. So while riding around we found this lovely restaurant. The restaurant is tucked in a corner and you won't believe. Unfortunately the train was not working because of COVID. I did enjoy the spacing of the customers and the attention to detail. The sushi was delicious . The service was lovely The decor was calming and did I mention the sushi being great?! I can't wait to go back!

Immediately was impressed, as we came for my birthday & the staff signed a birthday card for me and gave me a surprise dessert. Excellent service! On my 2 year wedding anniversary we came back again bc we loved the sushi the first time and wanted to have delicious food on our special night. Five stars, no hesitation…read more I heard about Sono Sushi through Resy and finally made it in. It's located in downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street, right next to the ABC 11 studios, easy to find and a great spot if you're already downtown. The ambiance is great and fits the food well. There's a nice mix of seating, tables along the windows looking out onto the street, high top tables, traditional dining tables, and a sushi bar if you want to sit up close and watch everything being made. It feels lively without being loud, and works well whether you're there for a date night or a more casual meal. We started with the Aburi appetizer, torched salmon belly, ooba, salmon roe, Japanese seabream, yuzu kosho, and ponzu, and it was outstanding. Everything worked together perfectly, rich, bright, and balanced. I also ordered ikura and ebi, even though I meant to order ama ebi, but no regrets there. Still excellent. We shared the Poke Roll with wakame, avocado, cucumber, mango, tuna, salmon, hamachi, and Sono poke sauce, and it was very good, fresh, flavorful, and well composed without being overdone. My wife ordered the spicy miso ramen and loved it. The broth was the star, deep and comforting, and the pork chashu pieces were massive, in a good way. I went with the chicken katsu curry, panko fried chicken thigh with house curry and koshihikari rice, something I haven't had since Little Tokyo in LA a few years ago, and it tasted like home. Comforting, familiar, and exactly what I was hoping for. For drinks, I ordered the "SONO? SO-YES!" entirely because of the name, but also because I love blood orange. Casamigos Blanco tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, coconut cream, simple syrup, and blood orange juice, it was excellent. My only complaint is that I wanted more of it. My wife got the Okinawa Spritz, a play on an Aperol spritz with passionfruit, and it was even better than the original. We finished with the yuzu cheesecake. I debated between that and the ube cheesecake, but since this is a Japanese restaurant, yuzu felt right, and it absolutely delivered. Overall, everything from the food to the drinks hit. This is a place I would happily return to, and honestly, I'm already looking forward to the next visit.
