Vegetable YakiSoba Noodles with a Spring Roll
    Chelsea C.

Discovered this place from when I picked up an order from DoorDashing. Such a gem!!!! It's located in a busy shopping area near Kohls off of Durant and Falls of Neuse Road. They have some seating but it looks like more of a "carry-out" spot. I ordered the Vegatable YakiSoba Noodles with a Side Salad and a Spring Roll. The Noodles are sooo good ! The vegetables are zucchini, onions, carrots and broccoli in which are sautéed like hibachi style and mixed in the Noodles. It does come with Yum-Yum or White Sauce. It's so good !!!! The side salad and spring roll were fire too !!!! I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back for more !

    Not worth $12.

By far the worst hibachi I've ever had. Hubby went out to grab dinner one Sunday evening and after discovering our original plan was already closed at 6:30pm, we settled on hibachi. Neither of us had ever eaten at this place, but it's not far from home so we were hoping it would become a new regular. Nope. Opening my plate of chicken & steak hibachi I asked how much the plate was. When hubby replied, "$12", I literally hung my head and let out a deep sigh. We've all experienced that major disappointment after expecting a delicious meal. Before even taking a bite I knew this wasn't going to be good just based on the measly portion. For the first time ever I added salt & pepper to my hibachi. That's how under-seasoned it was. The veggies tasted like they were thrown on the grill for 30 seconds max. I don't know if it was grease or what, but there was a runny liquid at the bottom of the plate where the meat and veggies were. Definitely not worth the money. We won't be back.

I came here for hibachi since I was craving it and my boyfriend recommended this place as somewhere he used to go a lot. Overall it was fine but not spectacular. We both got the chicken hibachi, which is $8.35 as of Sept 2021. The portions were fine but nothing too impressive - my boyfriend said the meals used to be bigger when he went there back in the day. You definitely get more food at certain other places. In particular, it felt like there wasn't quite enough vegetables and chicken for the amount of rice we got. The rice was also a little bland for being fried rice. Keep in mind: they no longer have a self service sauce area (maybe because of the pandemic?) so you get 2 sauce cups with your entree, and you can pay extra for additional ones. We just stuck with the yum yum sauce but they also have ginger sauce and teriyaki. The guy at the register was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. No issues with the service. The inside of the restaurant isn't huge but they do have booth seating and a fountain drink machine.

Ordered the salmon and tuna sushi and it just looked terrible from the start. Gave it a chance and it seriously doesnt taste good at all. Its crazy that my camera quality even makes it look half decent. But other than the sushi, the hibachi i guess is alright to my little sister.

It's ok. They don't take AMEX and don't have unsweetened tea. The food is what you pay for - ok fast food.

We also had the black cod which was nice and buttery. Didn't realize it came with two handheld pieces and one played piece. Nice surprise! Later I saw the actual restaurant is a bit small with a few tables and sushi bar so I'm thinking they have out grown their space and after eating the food I can understand how that happened. As mentioned it has a small footprint but we didn't wait long. Our server was very kind and provided excellent service. We started with the gyoza which were out of this world! They had the perfect char on the dumpling without making it too seared. The Sashimi plate was incredible, each piece of fish melted in your mouth. If I have to give one critique I'd say our yellow tail was still a little frozen but that didn't stop me from devouring it. Crispy Salmon Roll was light and refreshing and their Rainbow Roll was like no other I've had. My husband and I have two reference points when it comes to sushi; mine is Japan where I was introduced to it as a young Marine, his is Hawaii where had the most amazing sushi about 5 years ago. Not many places can compare to those experiences but Sushi Mon was VERY close!

They all said it was the best sushi they've ever had. I was super impressed by the expansive drink menu. I ordered a nice red blend and plan to order a Sake flight next time. I loved the atmosphere and didn't realize it was so big inside. Our server was super nice and helpful when ordering. I ordered the teriyaki chicken without onions and our server was so awesome that she let me know that the ginger dressing on my salad contained onions. She wanted to make sure I didn't have an allergy. How amazing?! The chicken teriyaki and the veggies it was served with were absolutely AMAZING! Seriously, IDK what they did to those veggies but this may have been the best meal I've ever had! They gave my husband a scoop of mango icecream with a candle in it for his birthday. Love that! Knowing how quickly their tables disappear, I checked for reservations on the drive over, fully expecting disappointment. Instead, a small miracle: an open table. I booked it before the screen could change its mind. Upon arrival, the host greeted us with the gentle chaos that only a true local favorite can produce. Our table wasn't quite ready "just waiting on a few folks to wrap up" so we lingered near the entryway, watching the ebb and flow of diners. A brief mix-up had us nearly escorted to a table before being pulled back, but within minutes we were seated, no worse for the detour. Our spot was perfect: a front-row view of the sushi bar, where chefs moved with the quiet intensity of people who know their craft is being watched and appreciated. The restaurant hummed around us servers weaving between tables, the soft clatter of plates, the low murmur of regulars who clearly consider this their second home. Our server, whose name I wish I'd caught, was a standout. Attentive without hovering, candid about the kitchen running a bit behind, and consistently thoughtful with updates. His honesty made the experience feel more intimate, more human. Cocktails arrived first, followed by a parade of sushi and small plates. Everything was fresh, balanced, and deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that doesn't need theatrics to make an impression.

It's imitation. Many imitation crab contains wheat. Again - ask ask ask. Guess what? It does contain wheat. So they served us both of our allergens. The manager came over and explained the hibachi they served us also contained wheat. And he blamed the waitress. When we explained that it was not her fault but the kitchen's he said he'd go ask the "chef" for his explanation. He returned and told us that the crab roll has gluten in the mayo too. He wasn't sympathetic or understanding of the severity but did go right back and added GF to several menu items that may or may not be gluten free The ambiance in the restaurant is too loud. The quality is on par with Japan Express but the management and kitchen's lack of understanding their ingredients and safe food handling and preparation combined with the arrogance won't have us back.
